Hastur

The King in Yellow

Hastur is known by many names, but perhaps his most feared is the King in Yellow. This being resides in Carcosa, a once great and mysterious city, now reduced to ruins. Lit by twin suns, and dotted by black stars, it is truly a place of wonder.Hastur has been shown to appeal to artists and entertainers, who may become his followers. He appears as a large being wearing a tattered yellow cloak, and the mysterious Pallid Mask. He inflicts madness unto humanity through the use of the cursed play titled "The King in Yellow", after himself. He may also gain control over those who gaze upon his Yellow Sign. His hated half-brother Cthulhu has been the star of the show for too long, it is time for The King in Yellow to show show the gods a performance worthy of an encore.

This god seeks to isolate his lone target, the victim of his Yellow Sign, and prey on their sanity. The only way to stop this old god is to team up, as the only one with the knowledge of how to defeat Hastur, is completely powerless against him. Should he be left to is own devices however, the kingdom of gods will become mere puppets in his master performance against Cthulhu.

Passive Ability

The King in Yellow
Hastur can afflict enemy gods with his accursed yellow sign. Gods afflicted will be able to help and hurt Hastur in various ways. The only way for the enemy to see who is afflicted is to see how their actions affect Hastur.

Hastur has the presence of a true king. All enemy gods will see him on the mini map at all times, but the location shown is different for each player, and only the player marked by the yellow sign will see his true location. The afflicted enemy is also revealed to Hastur at all times.

Hastur wills his subjects to help him. When the enemy marked with the yellow sign kills a lane or jungle minion, Hastur also gains full gold and xp for the kill. He however will not dirty his own hands, and thus cannot gain any rewards from killing minions. Boss Monsters like the Fire Giant and Gold Fury are exceptions to these effects.

Hastur's True form is revealed to those with knowledge of him. The enemy god marked with the yellow sign will be affected very differently by his ultimate ability: Mantle and Mask.

Primary Abilities

Black Stars
The King in Yellow is passively surrounded by the black stars of Carcosa, the home of the King in Yellow. He surrounds himself with black stars, which orbit around him, damaging enemies nearby. when he activates this ability, the stars merge into the two large red suns of Carcosa, which Hastur may hurl at his enemies. Enemies hit by bot suns will be charmed.
Yellow Sign
The Hastur places down a Yellow Sign, cursing the first person to gaze upon it to become his next target. When this ability is first leveled, a ward will appear randomly on the map. This ward will be a Yellow Sign. The first enemy god to walk into the Sign's range will be marked with the Yellow Sign, notifying Hastur, and the Sign will disappear, and reappear in a new random location. The King in Yellow can also choose where he wants to place a Yellow Sign. while his ability is toggled, any ward placed will gain the properties of a Yellow Sign, and the randomly placed Sign will disappear. This placed Sign will function the exact same as one that was randomly placed, and once triggered, it will disappear, and a new random Yellow Sign will appear.
The King's Play
Hastur channels, blinding nearby enemies with an illusion of a dark play in an area around him. If any enemy stays within the area for the full duration of the ability, they are affected by Madness.

Ultimate Abilities

Mantle and Mask
The King in Yellow opens his cloak and drops his Pallid Mask, becoming beyond the comprehension of anyone not afflicted by his Yellow Sign. He fears all nearby gods and becomes invisible to all enemies but the one carrying his Sign.

The god marked by the Sign cannot damage him, however any attacks they hit on him will reveal him. They also take massively increased damage and crowd control from Hastur.

Gods not marked can still deal damage to Hastur, and take reduced damage from him. Hastur is briefly revealed to them when he basic attacks or while casting an ability. (Black Stars' passive damage will not reveal him in any way.)

Dealing damage to enemy gods will not end this ability or reveal him. Finally, he gains a movement speed buff while moving towards a Yellow Sign, or a god marked with the Yellow Sign.

The ability ends when either Hastur or the enemy god afflicted with the sign die, or when he ends it. Once the ability ends, he may return to where the Mask was dropped to pick it up and reset the cooldown of his other abilities. This ability does not go on cooldown until he picks up his Mask.
