I've noticed a lot of people being more involved in the community, and that's great thing to see, however the ease and value of the purple reputation, or earning likes on a guide is lowering. We're lowering the bar, and how much effort and work it takes inorder to earn reputation, or likes in a guide in this game.

What is Reputation; How is it earned?

Reputation
in SmiteFire is a system used to improve the reputation of others. For example if they're trustworthy, doing something outstanding in the community, or going beyond expectations when it comes to the amount of activity on this site.
It is earned through other forum members pressing a purple plus sign inorder to give you reputation for what you have done. Whether or not you can be rep. multiple times by one person, I do not know however the standards of giving reputation is starting to lower.

Over the course of 3 months I've seen so many active people on the forum gain a lot of reputation within the short amount of time they've been a member of SmiteFire. Example, most earn around 14~22 Rep. Then they leave, I haven't seen them active at all. Not even commenting on builds once in a while. Maybe I have missed them but it is very important we take this system seriously.

A) Don't give +Rep to regular people criticizing builds. THEY DON'T DESERVE IT! It should be a duty of all members on SmiteFire to critique a build. Unless if they're doing something great and out of the ordinary (not including BBCoding) they shouldn't be rewarded. That's like asking a person in the jury, because they we're there and doing a great service you should give them $10. It is their duty to attend court and help settle disputes. This goes with commenting on builds, it is a duty to do that, and please don't try to compare their builds to yours.

ex. That's a ****py build, I found it better to use Hastened Fatalis in my experience.

NO ONE CARES WHAT YOUR BUILD IS! They wrote their guide, to express their build, not to learn about yours. If they truly did go write your own build.

B) Guides and How they should be Rep?

Example Guides like Piederman's or used to be dated OddArcade Guides should be rewarded for their hard work and the amount of CLEAR information they give. Not silly pictures, barely detailed playstyle, and ect. Sure a guide can look good, but it doesn't mean its any good. However their builds are great, and constantly updated, we still need to challenge people of the community to improve, and give them more of a challenge. Give them rep. because you appreciate the work they put in and did. For example look at Subzero or Jordentito. Jordentito(? I think I spelt that right?) was not too old of a community member yet he is continuously active in our community creating good guides, as well as Subzero. But inorder to support more improvement, following the same cookie cutter guides/information might not be good enough. That's why we need to give Rep. to guides that are trying to improve and learned from the past. Sure "if its not broke, don't fix it" might work, but it's not good. So give the upvote to good guides, give the rep to people who are continuously updating their guide and participating in the community, and or people who constantly create good guides, and still improving from what they're comfortable with.

I hope this brought you a general idea of how to use the SmiteFire System, and how we all need to continue being active of it. Remember giving likes to guides is for good work, but reputation should be given for what exceeds the ordinary.

P.S Sometimes its better to PM a message to a person about their build instead of publicly saying it in the comments section. Atleast PM would give a private/understanding setting for a person to improve their guide, while the comment section should be more over the discussion of how well their guide worked for them, or better discussion of the guide effect after, lets say, a new patch.
