This build serves to make Sun Wukong well-rounded in defenses and able to pack a bit of punching when drawing the front line.
Please note, depending on the enemy team, Bulwark of Hope may be necessary before Breastplate of Valor. Additionally if taking too much damage initially, I would recommend getting Bulwark or Valor before Runeforged Hammer depending on where the damage is coming from.
At the early game Arena and Clash, I generally harass the enemy (bull form) and punish any cocky players (stunning w/tiger form). The point is not to get kills, but to provide CC and soak up damage, so more powerful allies can burst the enemy down. Generally I save Sun Wukong's ultimate as an escape or, if enough health is gained back, to help in any on-going fights.
In Conquest, using his cudgel moves to clear minions waves and stunning the enemy with tiger form has been a good tactic for me.
