So basics for for playing the tank, first off its called Support. Which is all your guardians except Hades(hes trash) And some warriors(guan yu SunWukong, Osiris) Your starting build Active: LVL 1 Fist of the God, Starter Item: Watchers Gift, Pots: 3 mana 3 HP.
Ok so you finish off Midas Boots first after midas finish off your Fist of the Gods into lvl 3 Wrath of the Gods(HoG3), this active is extremely important. In the beginning you use it to drop your adc/hunters blue buff once it gets to lvl 3 you use it to insta drop objectives in yellow hp (2 1/2 -2 bars)(right now game is bugged so you dont know exactly when it hits yellow hp use the small hp bars) Namely the Gold Fury(GF) and Fire Giant (FG) you can also use it to steal. Say your whole team dies the enemy is doing FG you walk up/blink in use your Fist to inst drop the fg.
After Hog, you get sovrenty, after you get either magi's blessing if they have alot of stuns or emerald talisman if you are taking alot of magic dmg, either way you want both usually , 5th you want winged blade if they have alot of slows (ra blinding light, freya pulse beams, anubis hands) 6th witch blade (get this sooner if they have alot of attack speed carries such as kali, nemesis or their hunter gets out of control) Or Soul Reaver for some fat dmg You will be selling your watchers gift to open up this 6th slot btw.
Now if you have survived into the late late game sell your midas boots for cooldown boots(Warrior tabi on swk and osiris ninja on guan). Now the order you gets these in depends you will learn.
Now if you a good support your basically a second jungler after you adc hits lvl 5 you roam around helping other lanes unless your adc/hunter is getting demolished, either way you still come back to his lane and try and secure a kill, leech some xp.
Always remember to leech xp when you roam maybe solo some back harpies when your coming out of base when you have time.
On the TOP of the list if MID HARPIES those 2 camps in the middle of the map on both sides of midlane. They pop up every 3 minutes, its your job to be there HOG them and help secure them. So rotate around 2min 45 seconds (unless your adc is getting rekt) again at 5min 50 secs 8 min 50 secs, so forth. The timings are diff depending on when they are killed. They give huge amounts of xp which is y they are so important. When you go for them be mindful you might have to give them up, if you team doesnt help rotate to them and there is like 2-3 enemies there, just walk away go to mid leech xp base go back to duo lane.
Wards everytime you go back to base buy them, Sentry wards every once in a while . You need to start having the FG warded around 20min+ mark 24/7 preferably sentry wards. If you cant do it ask your team to help keep it warded.
I prob missed some things but thats the Support role for you.
