While I think War Banner is a good item, compared to Sentinels Embrace it is bad right now. You dont specify your boot option so I am not sure which ones you are looking for, hopefully it was Reinforced Shoes. After that you go into a Contagion, while anti-heal is important in some games, its never a core item for supports. This slot needs to either be Thebes, or Sov. Sometimes a Heartward is needed. After that you go Tyrannical Plate Helm this item is basically a meme. The stats are not great, and the passive just isnt useful at all. Talisman of Energy is a good item, but in your build, and on Ares I wouldnt get this, it doesnt synergize well. After you have a late game Emperor Armor. We are probably lv 14-16 by this point. This item while it has been buffed still just isnt going to be seen much. If you are snowballing, I could understand it, but its never a core piece. Finally you have Void Stone I personally do not see this as a support item right now. Maybe last season where we were selling our blessing and had that extra spot for whatever, but right now there are to many good items you are missing if you drop in this item. I get its an Aura so its nice for the Ares passive, but there are much better items to get these Auras from.
Overall I think you have an idea for how to play support, but the executing just wasnt there.
