Another thing, I don't think you need that much flat pen (4 items), cause of Thana's 2. Also don't think he really needs attack speed, just mainly power and a little pen.

Getting that much pen on thanathos makes part of his scent of blood worthless. if you grab The Crusher or brawler's beatstick and pop scent of blood you will hit the flat pen cap.

What this means is that all extra flat pen from items won;t be utilized during those 6 seconds.

You don't need Cad Shield on Thanatos, just build Bloodforge.

Why not just get Mantle or Magi's Cloak for that purpose?

this is a full physical penetration build. You will also get a good bit of health from this build.

SmiteFire & Smite

Smite is an online battleground between mythical gods. Players choose from a selection of gods, join session-based arena combat and use custom powers and team tactics against other players and minions. Smite is inspired by Defense of the Ancients (DotA) but instead of being above the action, the third-person camera brings you right into the combat. And, instead of clicking a map, you use WASD to move, dodge, and fight your way through the detailed graphics of SMITE's battlegrounds.
