Warrior's Axe is possibly the best starter for Nike. Her clear is already pretty decent and most of what you want to do with Nike isn't really to go for solo kills as much as it is to pressure out a lane opponent. Your base damage is high enough to clear as well as your cleave autos. Chalice/pots for some lane sustain. Blink to engage, thorns for pressuring carries.
Warrior Tabi for some extra power to help clear lane and keep putting pressure onto the enemy solo. Reinforced Greaves may be an option if you want extra safety but I prefer the power boost.
Pots for sustain or wards for safety/vision
Mystical Mail to keep up your pressure and for clear. This item is pretty good into any solo match up with Nike in my opinion. You have a lot of safety with your ult and you leap so going a magical defense item against a mage doesn't make that much sense to me. You have so much pressure and snowball potential with this item early game.
Adding Hide of the Urchin to this build is going to make you soooo tanky. Purchasing it earlier helps get the stacks faster, but you can also buy it later on if you'd prefer to slide an item in it's place or just skip it overall. The item has a lot to offer though so I highly suggest it.
Runic Shield, though not giving CDR or any notably high stats, the passive can be nice when laning against a magical opponent. A Hades will have trouble taking you down with this item reducing his power and giving you prots.
Purchasing these next two items will give you some extra tankiness and presence in a teamfight.
Void Shield gives you power prots and pen all making you extra dangerous for a backline carry to face you in a teamfight.
Genji's Guard gives you magical prots, and tons of em, while also giving you CDR and a cool passive that takes your abilities off cooldown faster.
These items will be a great way to add to your build.
Mantle gives you 60 all prots, CDR, and a passive that gives you cc immunity and stuns for 1 second which can indeed save your life or set up for your team.
Oni Hunter's Garb gives you 15% damage mitigation making you tankier not just against magicals, while the item itself gives you magic prots and CCR.
Assuming you followed my build exactly, here's some other items you could purchase in place of your starter.
Hero's Axe is the upgrade of your starter, giving a teammate nearby hit with a hard cc ability a shield equal to 15% of YOUR max health. Making this a great team dive item.
Hide of the Nemean is really good against high AA team comps.
Spirit Robe is a great item for it's passive alone giving you 15% dam. mit. for 3 seconds after being hit with a hard cc every 15 seconds. Then you add the stats CDR, CCR, and all prots.
I decided to get Hero's Axe helping my jungler out when we dive the backline, but I bought Spirit Robe in place of my boots. Your damage is good enough with Void Shield, Mystical Mail, and your base damage. You don't need a pure damage item on Nike. CDR is one of your best stats for her.
I also got Hero's Axe here then bought Void Shield in place of my boots. Void Shield just gives you the damage you need without sacrificing too much defense.
These are some other items you may want to consider on Nike and possibly other gods as well.
Hide of the Nemean is great against AA teams, as mentioned before.
Talisman of Energy is a great item to chase or siege with. As Nike you'll be around your team a lot as well as diving, she almost has a duel role as the second support in a way with her peel and raw damage. So this item can be good on her.
Pestilence is great into high healing comps, it's also magical defense and gives you some health.
Stone of Gaia is a great tool for sustain in lane, though I would focus more on snowballing and outpressuring your opponent but if you find use for this item, by all means.
Max you 1 for most efficient wave clear and poke. Point save at level 8 then at level 9 put points into your 1 and ult. Level the ult whenever you can for the extra health on it. Then max the 2 for more close range damage.
