Build Summary

Starter Items that are good

Notes Starter items are usually around 700-750 gold and you buy them before you head to labe at the beginning of the game. These items can be upgraded for a MASSIVE boost at level 20 for 1500 gold. You will never sell this item. There are a few options for carries that I will lay out for you.

In order the items are Deaths toll, Gilded arrow, leather cowl, and manikin scepter.

1- Deaths toll
This item helps you heal a bit of health and mana every time your basic attack hits an enemy god. Very strong choice and is my 2nd favorite on Neith.

2- Gilded arrow
This is my favorite on Neith. It has basically a minigame with minions where every 10 seconds or so an enemy lane minion or jungle monster will be marked (very obviously) and if you get the killing blow on the marked minion you gain a bonus 10 gold. This adds up quickly and will help you gain more gold than the other carry.

3- Leather cowl
Solid item but not my favorite as there is no mana associated with the item. This makes it seem like you can only throw like 3 abilities before running out. Very good on other hunters but not my favorite on Neith.

4- Manikin scepter
This item is used on every class in the game as it is just very strong. With this item you must be aggressive early in the game because your basic attacks deal bonus damage over the next 2 seconds. It basically burns the enemy every basic attack for 60 damage or so. Yes it works on minions. It is incredibly oppressive early in the game, but significantly loses power the further you get into the game. You either win early and just snowball your lead or you are kind of screwed. Is very fun to try out.

Extended Build

Sample starting build for me

Notes This is exactly 1500 gold and is goong to be your go to in most games. You are going to get a starter, begin your first item (should usually be devourers gauntlet) and two of each potion.

“Core” items

Notes Here are your bread and butter items. I am going to weigh the differences between the two realistic starts for carries and give you the ups and downs of each.

Start one- Devourers Gauntlet-Boots-Yellow Bow-Qin Sais
This build is what is “meta” or what the good players build. Devos (I am sick of typing Devourers Gauntlet) is a stackable item on killing blows on minions like how Transcendence works. It takes 75 stacks to max out but its not an all or nothing deal meaning you get the benefit of each and every stack the minute you get it, not only when you stack it all the way. It provides power and an incredible amount of lifesteal which is crucial in any hunter build. It is very helpful later in the game compared with transcendence because you get power and lifesteal out of one item instead of two allowing for a lot more flexibility in your build. Boots are an obvious second item as movement speed and attack speed are very important. The yellow bow is next, which gives the most attack speed out of any item in the game and occasionally (like every third basic attack maybe) it lets out chain lightning hitting all enemies around it. Very strong for clearing wave and hitting the other carry without even having to be in range of him. attack speed is also incredible boost. Lastly, Qin Sais is an item with plenty of power and attack speed but also its passive is that your basic attacks deal 5% of MAX HEALTH of the enemy. That means every time you shoot someone with a basic attack they take 5% of their health bar ON TOP OF the damage you already deal. Qin sais is a loaded item that should be in just about any carry build.
Pros: Awesome lifesteal, attack speed, you can shred tanks pretty quickly, fantastic late game
Cons: Slower start, mana is a problem early in the game, stacks take longer and slightly less damage

Option two- Transcendence-boots-Asi
This is what you are doing right bow if i remember correctly. This used to be my favorite, but in the new season I think its fallen off a little especially for neith. Transcendence has to stack to 50 minion killing blows and gives you mana and power (a lot of it too). You are going to be hitting a lot harder, but with less attack speed because now you have to get lifesteal as a third item after your boots. Asi is still an amazing item with power, attack speed, penetration, and lifesteal. This item is so good that I will even build it in the first build as the double lifesteal makes you very hard to beat in a 1v1. But overall at this stage you are hitting really hard but with a lot less attack speed and a lot less variability in your build. You are 4 items down into your build at this point (starter, transcendence, boots, asi) and you do not have great penetration, attack speed, or lifesteal. Oriented for the early game certainly.
Pros: mana is no problem, lots of power early, easier to stack, cooldown reduction, abilities hit VERY hard
Cons: Sucks for later in the game, not great stats other than raw power, limits your build

The Situationals

Notes These are the items you consider after your “Core”. Can vary game to game and should be dependent on the state of the game. Heres the scenarios in order.

Asi- Do you find yourself doing a lot of damage but losing very close fights? This item helps you lifesteal a ****ton if you get to low health and thats before the loaded stats on the item.

Dominance- Brand new item, havent really checked it out but seems good. Is meant for a ton of penetration and power with not much else.

Mantle of Discord- Dying a bunch? Feeling like you cant do anything to the 15-1 jungler nuking you in half a second? this item is for you. I usually round out my build with this as my last item or selling boots for this one.

Rage- This is if you are ahead and you want crit. Stacks on god kills and provides the highest crit chance in the game. Very feast-or-famine item but feels great when it is stacked. Follow up with at least one more crit item for true crushage.

Crusher- If the other team has no tank

Executioner- If the other team has a ton of tanks

Toxic blade- Best antiheal item for hunters. Wouldnt really worry about this one unless someone tells you to build antiheal.

Qin sais- Why havent you bought this item already?

Atalanta Bow- Not really relevant anymore as it was nerfed pretty hard. Still decent penetration and attack speed though.

Fail-Not- I would recommend this over rage for crit damage as it gives a bunch of power, penetration, and cooldown reduction on top. Highly recommend this item especially if you want crits.

Deathbringer- If you are satisfied with your attack speed AND have already built Fail-Not or rage then this will let you destroy.

Wind Demon- Crit but with built in extra attack speed if you need.

Finished starter items

Notes These are the ones you want at level 20. There are two possible upgrades for every starter item but these are the best ones.

Deaths Embrace- Even better lifesteal on your basic attacks. Essentially just the same but a lot stronger.

Ornate Arrow- This one is a fun one. It gives decent stats but the passive is that for every 100 gold in your possession currently you gain attack speed and crit up to a max of 25% attack speed and 20% crit at 2500 gold in your inventory. Also your gold gain is increased from all sources by 20%. Very strong and I like to incorporate crit later in my build so this definitely helps with that.

I know there were 4 starters at the beginning but these are really the two best. Dont know much about building the others as much.

My ideal final build

Notes This is the TL;DR. If you want a build you can just program and you dont change then this is it. The first six items you will build in that order (the starter item you upgrade as soon as you turn level 20, but you buy the first step at level 1). Then if you get to the point where you have enough for a speed potion then you can sell boots for mantle of discord. This build is very a jack of all trades without being great at any one thing. Its got penetration, lifesteal, attack speed, crit, and will be useful against any team.

New Build

Notes New build tips-
Get leather cowl, one step of transcendence and two of both health and mana potions to start. relic is your choice. Get transcendence item as soon as possible to start stacking.

Transcendence-Boots-Asi is always. Dont change this.

Failnot vs. Rage - Both are yoyr first crit item choices, Failnot being the safer and more ability oriented option with Rage being the aggressive one. If you are getting kills go rage, if not go failnot. It still slaps.

Tips-
1. You gotta manage your mana bar eary. Try to use one ability per wave to clear it to help because early on yoy dont have a lot of mana.
2. Don’t be afraid to fight once you get transcendence. It is better than the other hunter starter early in and you do a lot more damage than them most times.
3. Upgrade the starter ASAP once you hit level 20. Get Hunter’s Cowl. It ups your lifesteal and attack speed a ton and is more worth it than any other item really.

Overview

I put this together for you to help you adjust to the new season item wise. The shop is hard to keep up with and items have changed as well as starter items being a new (and extremely important) thing. I am going to try to explain why as well so you can see the reason its gonna help you clap cheeks. I enjoyed making this for you and I hope it is a helpful resource. I have had a blast playing with you and my roommates.

Your "Ideal build" only has 10% Pen, this is not even close to being enough for an AA focused Build, that build NEEDS The Executioner or at the very least Dominance paired with the Fail-Not

Also, I'd consider adding Bluestone Pendant as a starter option for Neith just for people who are going down the ability focused route.

Thanks for the input! I like executioners a lot but I made this build specifically for my dad. He likes hitting those big crits and its really just for fun. Qins also is also worth its weight in gold for the passive shred but agreed there definitely could be more pen built in.

No problem!

Btw you will find you'll hit bigger crits with more Pen because the enemies will have less Protections to mitigate your damage, what I can suggest if you want huge DPS but still retain most of your items is to start with Cowl - and get rid of Devourers Gauntlet and instead pick up another item - Hunters cowl gives you 15% lifesteal, 14% less than Devos, however if you play a god like Cernunnos you can make up the extra lifesteal from his kit, alternatively you can play another god but have your support build a Pythagorems Piece

Check out my page, I have a Cernunnos build that can provide more detail :)
