With his short cooldowns he needs max CDR IMO. Breastplate of valor is a must have for the early mana and cooldown reduction and helps a little with the early game phys. His passive is based off of life, so to benefit from your own passive the most ethereal staff is a good pick.
Shoes of focus > Breastplate of Valor/Ancile > Heartward > SOV > Ethereal Staff > Situational (Gem of Iso synergizes with his 2 nicely)
Skill priority 2>1>4>3
I've been having good results tanking in Arena with: Boots of Focus > Breastplate of Valor > Stone of Gaia > Heartward > Sovereignty > Gem of Isolation (swap for Witchblade if fighting auto attack gods).
Initiate a fight with your 3 then follow up with your 1 to nab a survivor. I try to use my 2 skill defensively. 50% dmg reduction on allies is huge vs something like a Kukulkan ult.
Smite is an online battleground between mythical gods. Players choose from a selection of gods, join session-based arena combat and use custom powers and team tactics against other players and minions. Smite is inspired by Defense of the Ancients (DotA) but instead of being above the action, the third-person camera brings you right into the combat. And, instead of clicking a map, you use WASD to move, dodge, and fight your way through the detailed graphics of SMITE's battlegrounds.
