The slow you're trying to utilize with this build's focus can be achieved with a Gem of Isolation. Far more consistent than waiting for Creeping Curse's cooldown. Also, Meditation is never a must. Play reserved, place your turrets wisely, and keep an eye on your mana. It's cheaper and smarter to just back when you're out of mana.
I feel the Meditation is a must, in case someone takes you off guard or in the jungle, when you have low Mana. Simply using meditation can save your life when that happens :)
and yes Gem of Isolation is a nice item, but you would lose one of the items that you could use for more DMG and Protection. That's why i feel like the activation item is better :)
