After I tried out Smite recently, I went online to see what builds different players were using for different gods as I was trying out new gods. I saw that most websites and youtube channels had scraps of information and guides out there and that I had to do a lot of digging around to get enough information to l2p the game properly.
I decided to post the guides for each hero I've played here on Smitefire for the builds I enjoyed playing. This way, I don't have to go back and dig through videos or text to remember the builds I've played and you guys can have some builds to try out as well. I'll be giving credit to different players and their alias'es if I post a build that's identical to theirs.
This is how I play Sobek.
Start with lv 1 Warlock sash, Hand of Gods and healing pots when you can afford them.
Max Warlock's Sash then get and max Boots of Celerity.
Get and Max Void Stone, Gem of Isolation, and Midgardian Mail.
You can get whatever you like as a 6th item, but I usually get a Rod to make your ultimate hit harder.
Get Tail Whip at lv 1. You can use it with Hand of Gods to clear a jungle camp and get the health regen buff at the start. You can go right back into the lane after getting health regen.
At lv 2, get Charge Prey. You can now charge an enemy if the moment is right and then Tail Whip them further backwards, either into your tower or further backwards for you and your lane partner to get the kill. You can also use charge to chase enemies or interrupt enemy channeled spells like Ymir's ultimate.
At lv 3 get Sickening Strike. You can use this to clear waves or use it on enemy gods after you initiate on them. Later on you can use it to slow enemies after getting Gem of Isolation.
Max your Tail Whip and get Lurking in the Waters at lv 5 and whenever it's available. You typical, charge first, Tail Whip your tail backwards right after, then Sickening Strike them right before starting your ultimate. While you Ultimate channels, try to stay within range of as many enemies as possible so you can hit as many of them as possible when the ultimate ends. You can also stand in front of your enemy to block them while the ultimate channels, to prevent them from running backwards.
Max Sickening Strike second and Charge Prey last.
Sobek should lane in a side lane and consider roaming around the map to gank. Consider getting the Health buff at lv 1 at the very start before you lane the first wave and consider ganking or picking up new buffs whenever Hand of Gods is up.
Smite is an online battleground between mythical gods. Players choose from a selection of gods, join session-based arena combat and use custom powers and team tactics against other players and minions. Smite is inspired by Defense of the Ancients (DotA) but instead of being above the action, the third-person camera brings you right into the combat. And, instead of clicking a map, you use WASD to move, dodge, and fight your way through the detailed graphics of SMITE's battlegrounds.
