A simple start for a very powerful early game. Your damage output early on is insane. You have decent sustain with Death's Toll in combination with your Scourge and then you have 6 pot to chug away. Use your high pressure early to invade around level 5 and keep up the pressure. You are susceptible to ganks being that you have no escape. So with your pressure comes great responsibility. You'll most likely outclear anyone in lane because of your cleave autos given by your Bludgeon. Use this pressure to manipulate your opponent into over stepping then make him pay. These three relics are the only three i would ever really consider on Bellona. Beads for safety, thorns for extra pressure, and shell for safety as well. Make your choice depending on who you're laning against and who the jungler is.
Now, Bellona is another AA(auto attack)god so Ninja Tabi is definitely the move. The more autos you get off the more you heal with Death's Toll, the more block stacks from Shield Bash, the more you heal from Scourge. Your power won't be as intimidating, but when you're swinging enough to make an ADC wanna unplug his system and toss it out the window, there's no need to have power in your autos. Just remember; more autos means more utility.
Lets choose a couple different items to make sure you have some decent prots to increase that survivability of yours. Shogun's gives more attack speed and cdr/ccr and is a magical prot item. Berserkers gives attack speed power and pen, and physical prots with a very powerful passive into Bellona's kit. Healing when the passive is active you gain additional time, and you heal with your Scourge. It's beautiful. I suggest even when against a magical healer going Shogun's anyway because of how much it really does for you. Go Berserker's if you're against a physical though. Pestilence is also a option against magical healers. Whichever you didn't purchase should be purchased next. Don't forget your wards either!
This is where things can get a little...toxic. With Frostbound you slow the movement and attack speed of whoever you're swinging at. This is very dangerous for immobile carries who get caught out of position and happen to come across you at their back camps. The more autos you get off the longer they're slowed. Don't be afraid to put your power to proper display, but don't get over excited. Your power must be shown at the right time. Be confident, but be careful.
Spirit Robe should be a 100% purchase as Bellona especially. This item has so much to offer in it's stats, but the passive is soo good too. Though no attack speed comes from this item, it does grant some ccr/cdr and 40 all prots. !5% damage mit every 15 seconds when with a hard cc. It's beautiful for her. You don't usually build cdr on Bellona but with this item you don't have to sacrifice an item slot per se. This item is incredibly underrated and I suggest buying it on Bellona everytime.
Upgrading your starter is giving you a massive power spike in the late game. Making you one of the scariest solo laners in the game. Though your teamfight isn't as reputable as Ama's, your biggest attribute if making everyone have to pay attention to you. If they don't, someone is dying. Sometimes it is you, but you'll be getting 2 sets of beads, a shell and aegis along with three ults along the way. Don't be afraid to smack the **** out of any carries. They're more scared pf you than you are of them.
Selling your boots as Bellona has always been tough for me because I feel there are a decent amount of choices to make.
Void shield give you power, prots and pen making it a great way to end your build.
Toxic blade is great if the carries are out sustaining your damage.
Stonecutting is great if you're against a high physical comp.
Serrated is just a fun item on her because you use your three base abilities pretty quick usually so you get the full effect of the item. I wouldn't purchase it if I'm behind or losing the match but it's still an option if you so choose.
Mantle of Discord is always a great last item. No doubt about it. The prots and cdr plus the cc immune passive is really nice on Bellona.
Pridwin has a great passive for Bellona, because once you ult you usually make yourself a target so having that overshield is so nice on her. This also increases your chances of chasing with the slow effect on the shield.
These are some other items you could fit into your build.
Ichaival grants you extra power and slows basic attacks from the person you're swinging at. I only suggest this item for high aa team comps.
Hide of the Nemean in combination with your Shield Bash is giving you so many block stacks it's actually insane. But i would only recommend this item against high aa team comps.
The Sledge is good on Bellona for the stats giving her extra power health mana and ccr. The passive gives her extra prots too. This items is good for just about any solo laner.
Mystical Mail on Bellona is one of my favs for sure. I would only purchase it early on though because of the tick damage giving you extra lane pressure. Buying it any later than third item and it's a waste in my opinion. Qin's Sais has a special place in my heart when built on Bellona. Your autos slap tanks really hard and it makes you a threat to just about anyone who walks in front of you.
Pestilence for high healing team comps. Good stats for magical prots.
Runic Shield also gives good prots and stats but I would only purchase is during the laning phase if you're against a magical god.
Focus on maxing Bludgeon as it is your best form of wave clear. Be sure to point save at level 8 and put points into your ult then into Bludgeon to max it out. Next focus Scourge because the disarm duration lasts longer. Put points into your ult whenever you can. The stats from your ult are really nice and the stun/flag lasts longer.
If you're Bludgeon keep getting interrupted, you may consider maxing Scourge instead. The damage is decent once maxed and it has a long disarm duration too. Just something to think about.
