I tend to sell boots for a potion to fit on athe life steal aura if I'm support or soul reaver in arena. I find you have to at Ares very aggressively if you want hime to work.

Don't sell your shoes in arena unless you have two of the following: Winged Blade, Witchblade, Relic Dagger. Otherwise you'll have no MS and will have a hard time chasing/retreating. Oh, and this guide isn't just bad, it's terribad.

You can't get speed elixir in arena. If you sell boots in arena with no other movement speed I question your intelligence.

Also this author is known for having pretty underwhelming builds so I would stay clear. Take this one for example, no Guardian's Blessing listed.

SmiteFire & Smite

Smite is an online battleground between mythical gods. Players choose from a selection of gods, join session-based arena combat and use custom powers and team tactics against other players and minions. Smite is inspired by Defense of the Ancients (DotA) but instead of being above the action, the third-person camera brings you right into the combat. And, instead of clicking a map, you use WASD to move, dodge, and fight your way through the detailed graphics of SMITE's battlegrounds.
