Chains extend from Ares' shield, doing damage to all enemies in its path. Hitting a god shackles them to Ares, Cripples them, preventing movement abilities, dealing the same damage every second while slowing them by 15% and buffing Ares. While shackled, Ares can fire another chain for free within 2s. Jungle Camps take an extra +40% damage.

Chains 'n Flames Concept

Want to toast up a Ratatoskr? Look no further. With the Chains 'n Flames build you can ravage your enemies one on one or in team fights.

The key to obtaining any notable damage with Ares is in his passive. Ares gains 30 magic power for every Tier 3 aura item equipped. Giving him a very unique ability to utilize team building aura items while achieving respectable sustaining damage. Aura items also differ greatly in effect, giving you the unique position of being able to tweak items slightly to the properties of yours and the enemy team.

Movement. Due to Ares passive ability, Ares is one of the few gods who may benefit more from not purchasing movement speed boots then purchasing them. Instead try the movement speed aura item, to provide high additional magic damage. While running smite, and obtaining the movement speed buff when possible.

SmiteFire & Smite

Smite is an online battleground between mythical gods. Players choose from a selection of gods, join session-based arena combat and use custom powers and team tactics against other players and minions. Smite is inspired by Defense of the Ancients (DotA) but instead of being above the action, the third-person camera brings you right into the combat. And, instead of clicking a map, you use WASD to move, dodge, and fight your way through the detailed graphics of SMITE's battlegrounds.
