The Reasons (Because you need reasons)

Why the build buys Boots so late?;
Ra's Passive allows him to travel faster than most gods in the game, even without boots. Early in the game, you can use this to ensure you have the most power available to you, so you can clear waves quickly and easily and get ahead!

Why the Rod of Ascelipus? (God I can't spell that);
Ra's healing ability (BATHE IN THE GLOOOWWWW) is great, because it both heals and damages, and works on Gods and Minions. This means you can either place it on your team to regain some precious HP, or you can place it on the enemy to hurt them over time. The Rod increases region and healing of nearby allies, so as long as you are just outside a big fight, placing down a Rod-Boosted BATHE IN THE GLOW on a hurt ally can provide them more than half their health, whilst hurting their foes in the process.

Why Bother with Bancroft's Talon, Ra has a heal?
Ra's heal is valuable. Your cool down is several seconds, at best and your allies will probably take a lot of damage - meaning you're going to want to use your heal on them, more than on yourself. Of course, you can use it on yourself, but why bother when you've got life steals, kill a wave in half a second with Ra's 1, and you;'' be more or less okay!
