Apollo is easier to play, and is played quite frequently in ranked from what i hear. He is a really good god IMO. He gets kills fairly easy and has a crazy awesome ult.
Zeus is a little harder to play, he stacks basic attacks on enemies and can detonate them for tons of damage! He is a hard damage mage and has very little wave clear, which is why most people don't play him in mid lane. He tends to get lots of kills in the early/mid game, but falls off a little in late game. In my experience i tend to get a lot of kills with zeus, but a lot of deaths also as he is quite squishy. He is very fun to play and learn though.
