Poll Question:

Could it become Smite canon? (This is still a work in progress, but from the general idea, could it be an interesting goddess?))

(This is my first ever attempt at making a god/goddess concept and is still a pretty big work in progress, I really dont know much about proper god balance or design, so feel free to comment on anything, im just throwing out rough ideas in this thread)

Lore: History- Passed events, written down and preserved for future reference. An inspiration all their own. This is Clio's domain. The daughter of Zeus and Mnemosene, She is one of the fountains of inspiration from which all mortals draw, presiding over the recording of history and the endless interpretations and creative works that flow from it. For countless ages, Clio has recorded history; observing the rise and fall of nations, the beginnings and ends of wars, all the while assisting those who meticulously record these events for future generations, blissfully immersed in her domain. But, events in the world have been more and more chaotic and restless, and Clio fears for the worst. No longer will Clio stand aside to passively record history. Something as important as a war of all the gods needs the personal attention of the finest of historians, and none are finer than Clio. History has shown how destructive a war between gods can be; Gods trading blows wantonly has nearly ended the world more than once. Should there not be a tactician to guide their blows, should they be allowed to repeat their passed mistakes, history may repeat itself for the final time, and come to an end. It is said that history is written by the winners, and Clio fully intends on recording this war.

Pantheon: Greek

Roles: Ranged, Magical, Tanky-ish utility Support OR Tanky anti-tank

Pros:
Great at singling out targets for her teammates
Provides a good amount of defense for her whole team in a teamfight
Makes the enemy more cautious than normal about what they do while she's around
Very, very strong teamfight presence

Cons:
Direct damage a bit low
NEEDS to be around teammates, will not survive alone.
very team oriented skills, her 1 is mostly useless without someone else around her.

Passive: Lessons of the Past- Clio understands the importance of learning from the past. This ability grants 5 protections at the beginning of the game, but each time she or allies within 40 feet of her take damage from enemy gods, the protections she grants to her allies within 50 feet and herself increase as she learns. She loses a fraction of the protections when she is killed, since some of her notes are lost. At max cap, she grants a percentage of damage mitigation as well, having developed a strategy to deal with the incoming attacks.

Observe: Clio locks onto an enemy god, observing their every move and recording notes (something similar to the thanatos warning shows when locked onto). when locked on, she will always face them, as though taunted, though she can still move forwards and backwards (backwards with no backpedal penalty while locked on).
The longer she stays locked onto the target, the larger the power and penetration boost she will grant to herself and allies within a 30 foot radius of her against that specific enemy god temporarily. Any abilities used by the enemy god while observed will boost the effect of this skill up to a cap. She also gains increased protections against the god while she is observing them, and gains a small chance to completely dodge their autoattacks every so often.
(She cannot stack her passive while observing. She also cannot use any other abilities while observing, so no aimbotting with your 2. She could, however, possibly autoattack while locked on?)

Kalamos Toss: Clio magically propels the pen she is using to write with in a line in front of her, dealing magical damage to any gods hit and knocking them back slightly, the ink she uses in battle has a poisonous effect, applying a poison DoT for 2 seconds, at the end of which the poison will take full effect and stun the enemy for 1.5s (this attack will hit enemy minions and also apply the poison DoT to them).

(I for the life of me cannot seem to think up a proper third skill for her. if you have any ideas feel free to tell me)

Apotheosis: Clio praises the past deeds of one of her allies or herself, her praises inspiring them for 4-5 seconds, their physical/magical power, attack speed, and movement speed are increased for the duration. If their health drops to 0 during the ultimate, their health will heal back to 30% of their maximum health and their cool-downs will be reduced by 8s. Should their health be reduced to 0 again, they will die at the end of the ultimate.

Once again, just throwing out rough ideas, I don't have any specific numbers or stats for her abilities, so feel free to volunteer numbers if you wish
