30 min deserter wait?

So there have been two separate times that I have received deserter and got the 30 min deserter que wait time. I completely understand the ramifications of having this in the game as no one in the game likes a rage quitter. However, both times that I had been removed from game were not under my control. My internet caved one of those times, and the other time I was just randomly removed from the character pick screen.

Given my situations, I believe that there should be some changes in the wait time for desertion. Although it may be hard to implement this, there should be something within in the game that detects those that click "leave game" or purposely exit the game, compared to those that are removed from the program for internet issues that are not under ones control.

Another possible solution is to allow the game to let you back in to the game you left/got kicked from. That makes it so the ones who are wanting to leave and que up again, can't, and are instead ported back to the game they left. If they are still absent from the game for the duration of it, then you can institute a deserter cool-down timer.

If that is not possible, another theory is to try and lower the wait time. I think 30 minutes is a bit overkill for a wait time. Especially for those that left under honorable conditions and under conditions that are not in the users control.

Don't take this thread as a way for me to complain and gripe, but as a possible patch in the future. I know that there are some that desert games on purpose and deserve a 30 minute timer, but the ones that are innocent in their desertion should be given a little helping hand. Lowering the time still punishes those that desert, but it makes it bearable for those that don't do it on purpose.

Unless I'm mistaken, pretty much any legitimate reason for being dropped from the game could be exploited by people who wanted to quit if it had no repercussions. Want to rage quit? Just unplug your internet for a second. You just got dropped, oopsy.

The thing is, it doesn't really make a difference whether you left because Comcast hates you, you have to go to work, or you're raging. You're down 4 on 5 and are probably gonna lose either way. You're supposed to have a stable internet connection and time to finish a game if you play. It's not like a 30 minute penalty is a huge deal if it's something that's only happened a couple of times.

There is the occasional game glitch that kicks you from the lobby or the game, and obviously that needs to be taken care of, but I've never had that happen to me and it's definitely not common. If anything, I think the penalty is a little too small to really discourage quitters/leavers.

Well as stated in a previous solution, they could certainly allow for the player to come back into the game to redeem their disconnection I believe. If the game goes on long enough or finishes without them available for the game, then a deserter wait should be issued.

I believe they need to allow for re-entry into the game. I think that might solve some of the issues too.

However, I do agree that the penalty for people ACTUALLY deserting should be higher.

Also, not sure if it's a recent bug or what, but I just got removed from the character pick screen into my deserter wait time... Not sure what's going on here.

Also, does Smite have any actual official forum yet? Or are they planning on it? Or is this it?

Kind of tired of getting randomly booted from the character pick window because I went from 100% goodwill today down to 0% twice. Quite annoying.
