Vucub-Came (contest entry)

Ruler of Xibalba

Vucub-Came, whose name means “Seven Death”, along with his brother Hun-Came (“One Death”), rule over the Mayan underworld known as Xibalba, "The Place of Fear".
Xibalba is a place of great human suffering. The gods who dwelled within it had names which personified their gruesome roles, like Pus Master, Bone Sceptre, Jaundice Master and Blood Gatherer. All of these gods served under Vucub-Came, who oversaw the cruelty and suffering to all.

Passive Ability

Blood and Horror
Vucub-Came is the master of Xibalba. Blood and horror are his domain. The duration fear, terror, silence, blindness and deafness effects on nearby allies is reduced by X%, and the duration of fear, terror, silence, blindness and deafness effects on nearby enemy gods is increased by X%.
Whenever Vucub-Came sees an enemy or ally affected by fear, terror, deafness, silence or blindness, he gains a stack of Absolute Terror. Absolute Terror increases the duration of the terror effect of his Doors of Xibalba by X seconds. Additionally, each stack of Absolute Terror increases the range his Shield of Fright can travel by "Y". Stacks up to Y times.

Primary Abilities

Stipe of Suffering
Vucub places a stipe into the ground. Any ally god which is damaged while near the stipe has a portion of the damage absorbed by the stipe. When the stipe absorbs enough damage, it explodes in an area, dealing bleeding damage to nearby enemies. When Vucub places 2 stipes near each other, they form a river of pus between the stipes, dealing damage, slowing and reducing the armor of any enemy that crosses the river. River lasts "x" seconds. Any enemy which crosses the river while feared is stunned and takes additional "Y" damage. Vucub-Came can place up to "X" stipes. Stipes can be destroyed.
Shield of Fright
Vucub-Came places a shield on an ally, making that ally immune to fear and bleed damage. The shield lasts up to "X" seconds or until it has absorbed "Y" damage, whichever comes first. When the shield expires, it launches a horrifying visage forward, damaging enemies and stopping at the first enemy god it hits, fearing them for "Z" seconds.
Shadow of Hun-Came
Vucub-Came summons the shadow of his brother, Hun-Came, from Xibalba. Hun-Came will appear through the shadow (i.e. behind) of an ally or enemy god within range for "X" seconds. If Hun-Came appears behind an ally god, that god receives increased damage and attack speed. If Hun-Came appears behind an enemy god, that god takes damage and is slowed. At any time, Vucub-Came may teleport to Hun-Came.

Ultimate Abilities

Doors of Xibalba
Vucub-Came summons a set of doors to Xibalba. Upon summoning, the doors open and pulse an area of effect of "Terror". Terror is a new crowd control effect which blinds the character and randomly reassigns their cardinal movements (e.g. "left" becomes "backward", "backward" becomes "forward", etc.).
From the doors, Vucub-Came can summon one of the gods of Xibalba:
- Xiquiripat (Flying Scab) & Cuchumaquic (Gathered Blood). These gods travel out, whirling blades which damage victims, causing them bleed damage, and leaving a trail of blood. Invisible gods will also leave a trail of blood.
- Ahalpuh (Pus Demon) and Ahalgana (Jaundice Demon). These gods will spew forth poison and bile from their mouths, slowing any gods which are struck and will reduce their physican and magical resistance for a short period of time.
- Xic (Wing) and Patan (Packstrap) - These gods will travel out and disperse clouds of noxious gas, which will deal damage and prevent gods from using their abilities for a short period of time.

The Doors of Xibalba are treated as indestructible walls for the duration of the spell.
