Upiór

The slavic vampire

Playstyle

Upiór has a really great potential as a great support I think. With this you have endless possibilities for set ups. For example, tricking the enemies in a Yemoja's ult, Gilgamesh's ult or Ah puch's ult. Or you can use the ult for clearing the titan at the end by forcing the enemy in the spawn while you and your team are destroying their titan.

In addition, his "HEART ATTACK" passive can also be irritating as a support. In order to heal or to purchase healing items, he can constantly force the enemy to return to their spawn. Along with his "BLOODTHIRST" passive he can do a pretty good job as a tank. When the extra 21% HP5 at max level kicks in, he can be pretty beefy and take most of the damage in a fight and still get out alive.

The possibilities are endless!

Lore

Upirs were people who died suddenly, those whose bodies were desecrated, or those who were cursed before their death. The upir could also come from a dead person over which an animal jumped, suicide victims, witches, unchristened children and those killed by another upir. The beliefs that people who were physically different in the community were either upir candidates or suspects in disguise (e.g. those who walked by moonlight, had big heads, or had no armpit or pubic hair). the living also showed suspicion when they walked by moonlight.

Legends and ethnographic records portray strzygas as possessing two hearts and two souls, so upirs are often described in the same way.
Particularly vulnerable to the transformation were women who died during or after childbirth. They were worried about returning to the orphaned child as upirs to feed it at night. As a result, in Silesia, for example, those who died in childbirth were buried near the wall at the edge of the cemetery. A deceased person could become an upir if he lacked rigor mortis, had a flushed face or blood under his nails. Family members or nearby neighbours may notice fatigue, pallor, sweating or recurrent nightmares as signs of its misdeeds. If the family burned the deceased's portrait or photograph, an upir could haunt them. Similarly, a dead person buried in an old shirt could become an upir.

In order to recognize an upir, an innocent child would ride a horse to a cemetery and indicate the grave of the upir. In the Sieradz region, people would not look into mirrors after dark because an upir could be seen in the mirror.

During the night, Upirs would arrive with their heads in their arms or, if their heads were not detached, with glowing "wolf-like" eyes. Some of them caused danger in the daytime by climbing bell towers and killing anyone with their shrieks. The Upirs drank human blood and tore apart their victims with their superhuman strength. The Upirs could also kill with their breath or shrieks. During the night, they suffocated or made people sleepwalk. In some cases, husbands and wives became upirs and visited their widowed spouses after they had passed away. Occasionally, they would harass the family as they did their chores during their lifetime.
