(Partial) Rework of Ratatoskr's Kit

Passive Ability

P
Acorn of Yggdrasil
Ratatoskr spawns with a powerful Magic Acorn from the World Tree in his inventory, replacing his item slot for boots. He can upgrade this acorn through the item store from anywhere on the map to increase his Power and Movement Speed. He may choose between 4 acorns. Each acorn will grant different bonus to ratatoskr and also give him a mission during the game. When the acorn's mission is completed the acorn's passive becomes the new ratatoskr's passive.

Ratatoskr dashes forward, passing through enemies, damaging and slowing them for 3s.

Ratatoskr spins around in a flurry of attacks, damaging nearby enemies and reducing their Protections up to 4 times.

Damage: 25 / 40 / 55 / 70 / 85 (+25% of your Physical Power)
Protection Reduction: 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 per stack
Radius: 20
Cost: 60 / 65 / 70 / 75 / 80

Acorn Blast
Ratatoskr shoots a blast of 5 acorns forward in a cone, each dealing damage. Enemies hit by more than one acorn will take additional damage and enemies hit by at least 3 acorns are stunned for 1s.

Ability Type: Projectile
Damage: 25 / 40 / 55 / 70 / 80 (+20% of your Physical Power)
Range: 55
Cost: 65 / 70 / 75 / 80 / 85
Cooldown: 16s

Ultimate Abilities

Through The Cosmos
Ratatoskr charges up then leaps from the ground to a branch above his head. He may jump to 2 more branches before choosing a landing location. Upon landing he deals damage and Knocks up enemies. Through the Cosmos can be canceled or timed out from any of the branches, causing Ratatoskr to strike down at the current target location.

Damage: 200 / 260 / 320 / 380 / 440 (+70% of your Physical Power)

Cooldown: 110/105/100/95/90

Why Rework him?



Ratatoskr was designed a long time ago when you couldn't sell boots and the acorn used to be a nice advantage when compared to other gods. After S5 when sell boots for other items became possible the acorn became a temporary advantage making Ratatoskr fall a lot late game because he had to choose between keep the acorn that has nice stats but leave some other useful item behind or trade it for another item and have literally no passive. This rework is just fixing and balancing minor things on his kit and completely focused on rework his biggest problem: The Acorn.


Information about the skils


Passive: Acorn of Yggdrasil

This would be the main rework point. He would keep the ability of buy it outside the fountain but a new part would be added: The mission. Each acorn would allow Ratatoskr gain a different powerful passive and after he had completed the mission he would be able to keep the acorn's passive even if he sell it. The Acorns would be:

Passive: Whenever you hit an ability on the enemy you gain 2% extra movement speed for 5 secs stacking up 4 times.
Mission: Kill or assist 10 enemy gods with the passive activated.


Sapphire Acorn
Sapphire Acorn
25 Physical Power
10 physical protection
10 magical protection
20% Movement Speed

Passive: Whenever you are hit by an enemy god you gain 5 protections stacking up 4 times.
Mission: Mitigate 10,000 damage.



Opal Acorn
50 Physical Power
20% Movement Speed

Passive: Each time the other skills successfully hits an enemy god, the other skills on cooldown are reseted by 1 sec.
Mission: Deal 10,000 damage on enemy gods.


Emerald Acorn
Emerald Acorn
35 Physical Power
10% Cooldown Reduction
20% Movement Speed

Passive: Whenever you hit an enemy with an ability you heal yourself for 30 + (20% of your physical power).
Mission: Heal yourself for a total of 1,000 HP.



With all these options ratatoskr could be used with very different builds each one focusing something. Topaz for a fast rat jg, Sapphire for a tank rat (maybe for solo), Opal for for skill spam and Emerald with healing (sustain maybe even for solo). After you have chosen your acorn you would have that mission. Once completed you would be allow to sell the acorn but keep the passive.



The rest of his kit:
  • Dart - Now passes through enemies because if it was still stopping on enemies gods it would be a very easy setup for the new Acorn Blast bring back the OP days of Rat.

  • Flurry - Same ability but now removing also magical protections.

  • Dart - Now Fires in a wider cone area not only 3 but 5 acorns to try to make this skill a bit more useful in teamfights. It also would still stunning with 3 acorns but hit the 3 acorns would be way easier. Lowered the damage of each acorn and increased the cooldown to balanced

  • Through The Cosmos - Same ability. No Changes.

Conclusions


With these changes I think Ratatoskr would definitively come back to the meta as probably one of the best junglers and also it would allow him be played and different roles like solo and even support like Ne Zha does nowadays.
