Kebechet

Embalmer of Souls

In ancient Egypt, the act of mummifying was a necessity so the dead could be able to properly be judged and enter the afterlife. Born to Anubis and his wife Anput, Kebechet inherited her parents link with the dead and worked passionately to make sure all could be proper buried.
She was responsible and affiliated with the embalming liquid, both to the living executing the process and the spirits who would wait until it was over. That role meant that Kebechet was in constant presence amongst the underworld and made for a pacifying presence to the deceased souls, with her natural caring and delicate care of them. This role meant that Kebechet was among those with a deep understanding and connection with the five parts of the soul: the Ba (the personality), the Sheut (the shadow), the Ren (the real name or identity), the Ib (the heart) and specially the Ka (the life force) for her.
Now as the war between gods escalates, the dead pile up and are often forgotten amidst the battlefield, many left to rot and being stopped from ever reaching their destined afterlife. But Kebechet will not tolerate this, there’s honor and duty for those who still live just as much for those who have passed, and though she would prefer to stay out of this strife of the immortals, she will act to protect those who are already gone.
