I thought I had explained it pretty well earlier. It's not that you had some people + rep you and some people "- rep" you (there is no - rep), it's just that only a few have + rep'd you.
Most people don't really seem to notice the button, maybe because it's so hard to see purple on Smitefire. Either way, it was several months before I hit 20, which marks you as notable. Just give it time.
