Pretty much agreed with above. Obviously, she was in the wrong way more than him, but really, after reading his whole life's story, he really needed to move on when she started being a ***** to him. Things change when you grow up. Many of us will not have the same friends from that long ago when we get older. I can tell you, I only still know one friend I had when I was very young, and I only got back into contact with her maybe a year ago, and even now I barely ever talk to her. Just every once in a while. Hell, I rarely talk to a lot of my friends from high school. That's the sad truth, and sure, it sucks, but life goes on. Obviously, Brendon here didn't go on with life, and tried to stick with the past.

Don't get me wrong, I feel bad for the **** this guy went through, but honestly, he brought it upon himself by constantly trying to keep contact with the *****. I hope he didn't go through with the suicide because it's honestly a very silly reason to go through with something so extreme, but it seems like he was set on it. Hopefully he didn't do it, got help, and learned to move on. He'll be able to make a better life for himself. As for Clare, more than likely, everything will catch up to her, and she will either get herself into trouble and lead a pretty ****ty life or she will start to feel regret for the **** she did in the past and will have to live with it for the rest of her life.

Quite honestly, even from receiving only his point of view, they seem to both be in the wrong here. Yeah, forcing someone into a pool when they have aquaphobia is inexcusable douchebaggery. But on the other hand, just because you share a past with someone, even if he/she saved your life, doesn't mean you will always be together or he/she should/must reciprocate your feelings. He seems to have been pretty damn creepy watching her all those years, and if the wedge between them began in elementary school, he really, really, really should have moved on later in life.
