The same rule applies to the 2nd and 3rd hits.

Introduction

Hey everyone! I'm baaaaack! I'm OMGASIA, casual Smite addict. While I know how to enjoy all casual game modes, I mostly play Joust and Arena. I’m back to getting basic guides up for new Gods as they are released so there is a starting point for players who weren’t able to test them on the PTS. This isn't meant to be a definitive end all be all on Amaterasu. This is the way I've enjoyed playing her so far, and possibly others will enjoy as well!

Here she is, Amaterasu !

Where can I buy that necklace?

Pros and Cons

Pros:
  • Amazing team fighter.

  • Has a self heal.

  • Great for helping teammates escape.

  • Her vocalizations are pretty cute and not as obnoxious as I expected!
Cons:
  • Long cooldowns.

  • Of her three Crowd Controls, two are attached to her ultimate.

  • Her silence is also a dash.

  • Her mirror doesn't seem very reflective. Doing her make up in the morning must really suck.

I firmly believe that Amaterasu's skill purchase order depends on your play style, your team, and your enemy team. Don't be afraid to switch things up as needed!

Each section below lets you know what benefits you gain from leveling up the ability as well as what I prefer to do personally.

Builds

I want to begin this section with advice that helps for any game: Allow yourself to build fluidly. Don't feel like you're stuck with one single build, or one purchasing order. In order to be most efficient you'll want to build to your personal play style and team comp as well as the God's strengths. You'll also want to keep an eye on the enemy team and what they build as counter building (picking items to make them less efficient) can be very helpful.

Thanks for taking the time to read my guide. This guide is a release guide only, meaning after her release it will not be updated beyond initial tweaking. Please feel free to leave feedback! Healthy discussion in the comments section can help all players. :)

I would think basing off of her PAssive that using Ninja Tabi and perhaps something like Hastened Fatalis or maybe still The Executioner would be good. High attack speed means adding damage up quicker based on her passive no? I haven't got a chance to play her due to being only XB1 wit ha broken computer. Just some thoughts.

You should definitely try to address the different options for items on Ama, even if they want to build whatever they want, you should tell them what the items are good for.

I feel like this would be a perfect guide if you address the items.

Still a +1 from me though. Looks neat and the BBCoding is on point.

You'll find that in the items section :)

Qin's is more effective if you have ichaival. without out it the damage boost is very minimal but still does abit more then executioner.

Not that it will help right now (since she's not officially released), but Elite Ownage is great about keeping his site up to date. If you want to see a very, very easy comparison of damage, his build site (found HERE allows you to adjust all manner of things...your build, your level, stacks on passives like The Executioner, your damage against enemy gods with various builds, etc. Extremely helpful and easy to understand, I think. Once he adds Amaterasu, you should check it out.

As for my previous comment, the reason I made that comment about Titan's Bane last is because I just have this internal problem of reducing the effectiveness of items within builds. As an example, Titan's Bane by itself against someone with 100 protections (example for ease of consideration) would reduce their protection (to you only) by 33. When at full stacks of The Executioner, this Titan's contributed value gets reduced to 25. To me, this is akin to exceeding max CDR...not quite the same, of course, but Exe reduces the effectiveness of Titan's to a degree. Granted, it's still going to help with damage, and maybe the idea here is to both do good damage when initiating with abilities, and to also do good damage when using a flurry of basic attacks...but just something to consider. Hence also why I like Brawler's Beat Stick last, or perhaps even Qin's Sais last...don't know how effective that would be, though.

After watching her New God video I could hear the calls for nerfs from my friends already.
Also seems like a viable support? :o

I think she's more than viable as support! Her Illuminating Strike gives the rest of the team more damage. Her Divine Presence buffs the entire team as well, whether it's power or movement speed. Her Heavenly Reflection helps her stay in and hopefully keep the enemy distracted longer. Her Glorious Charge can help with peeling. Her Dazzling Offensive has the cone slow and stun, really aiding the team as well. I'm not sure if she'll get the nerfbat, she doesn't feel very overpowered. She may have some adjustments but I don't think she'll be another release Bellona.

Ah okay, cause my guide for her is based on conquest solo laning. thats why i always pick up divine presence first.

If its for something like joust or siege you should say that in the title. dont want people confusing this for a conquest build unless you've tested this build in conquest and seen if it actually works.
