Why do most duo lane ADC not build trans? Even quins builds are going Devo's.
Is it just for the early game boxing/sustain?
In that case, if you have a healer supp wouldn't it be good to?

Well, trans objective is offer power and a huge mana pool, so, if your hunter rely on abilities (not necessary too much like Chiron does, can be a hybrid too like Cupid), you build trans. Yeah, trans may offer a boxing potential but, mid to late game devo LS is much more helpful if you don't rely on skills. And to finish, your support hardly ever affect your build, so no, if you don't have an hybrid/ability based hunter, keep going with devo.

No, it's for boxing all game, and sustain if there is thorns on the enemy team or you're building crit into Nemean Lion. Or, it can be paired with Asi for even more sustain, but that's dependent on if you don't need Titan's Bane (if building crit/fail-not with Devos).

Not really. It doesen't really affect your item choices.

It's mainly question of whether you're using a hunter who relies on abilities vs. a hunter who relies mainly on autos.

Ullr, Neith, and Chiron are all ability based gods. Ullr's stance switch does give him a passive of increased AS. However all of these gods have hard hitting abilities. It is beneficial for you to amplify that with high power items like transcendence, and other power/pen items. Think titans bane, crusher, etc. A good way to think of this is you're a physical mage.

AA based hunters include gods like Rama, Jing Wei, & Artemis. These gods have some AS steroid or some other amplification to their autos. Also their abilities don't necessarily have a lot of damage (though this varies per hunter). They need AS and lifesteal. Thus devos is important.

And there are some cases where a god can go either, e.g. Chernobog (but which one you go with is affected by role and matchups).

I meant early game boxing cause mid game on in team fights ADCs get focused hard and w/ anti heal you prolly don't live?? Guess I'm too much a believer off get as much dmg off before you die :D

Also what's up with all these Anhur Devo's? Isn't he a Trans god?

You gain 15 Mana per stack, up to 50 stacks, and 3% of your Mana is converted to Physical Power. The item itself, with no stacks at all, grants 35 Power and 300 Mana.Therefore, the total amount of physical power given by Transcendance at any number of stacks can be written as:
35+(0.03(15x+300+(y+z)))
  • x is the current number of stacks of Transcendance.
  • y is the god's current base maximum mana.
  • z is the amount of mana from items.
So, assuming you're playing as Serqet, assuming full stacks of Transcendance, assuming you're also at level 20, assuming this build:
  • x=50
  • y=1840
  • z=550

We can solve the expression for:

35+(0.03(15(50)+300+((1840)+(550))))=138.2 physical power.

Knowing the exact amount of power you get from Transcendence at any point of time is not useful.

Here are the facts about this item
- It is the item that will give you the most power in the game (and apparently it's not going to change in Season 4)
- It gives you between 300 - 1050 more mana depending of the stacks.
- The % power from mana is more relevant from your base mana than from items. (Ex: Jotunn's Wrath = 4 power, Breastplate of Valor = 9 power).
- Stacking the item completely gives you 22 more power.

Therefore, all you need to know is
- This item can solve your mana issues if you buy it early game.
- This item is OK early game, but is more potent late game.
- Stacking is not that mandatory, so picking it as 6th item can still be a viable option.
- DPS wise, power is often eclipsed by other stats, like Penetration, Crit % and attack speed (depending of the god).

That.. is all very true. I would add something but I think you covered it all, kudos.

I don't know how I could have possibly missed that.

Sorry, but this is... fairly inaccurate. Serqet's mana pool at level 20 is 1040 not 1840, and you need to include Transcendence in the build (ie: Replace Jotunn's Wrath so subtract another 150 mana).

Your equation (which doesn't need the extra parenthesis) then reads:
35+(0.03(15(50)+300+1040+400)) = 109.7 physical power.

You can generally expect about 100 power from Transcendence on hunters and assassins at level 20. Building another mana item (like Breastplate of Valor) will increase this number, but it's also slightly less efficient since your mana needs are already taken care of for the most part by Transcendence alone.

Imma say both of you did this equasion wrongly. First, I took the build, replaced Ninja with Warrior, and replaced Titan's for Trans, and changed BoV for Hide

Total mana pool for serqet got to 2490.

To take the 3% off of the 2490, I did as follows.

2490 = 100%
x = 3%

2490 . 3 = 100x
7470 = 100x
7,479 = x

But then I was like "No, it can't be that trans only gives 7 power. So I did the following.

10 = 100%
0,3 = 3%

100 = 100%
3 = 3%
1000 = 100%
30 = 3%

So with that, I've decided the extra power from transcendence will be at around 75 physical power, giving the build a ***ping 290 Physical Power

Uhm. "Assuming this build" - that build doesn't even have Transcendence to begin with...

I doubt anybody would care enough to actually do the maths to calculate how much power their Trans provides them, just that it does.

But I do like the way you presented it though.

Transcendence is absolutely ridiculous on Ah Muzen Cab. It is a must have on him because of his mana consumption and it gives him a ton of damage.

This item is terrifying on Ah Muzen Cab. He's a mana-hungry powerhouse, so both heavy physical power and a ton of mana makes for a perfect item for him.

I love this item as Guan Yu since he is mana hungry and it is great sustain. The physical power this item grants alone now is amazing, with the people above that have already done the math. I agree with Raventhor though, hunters simply do not have the build flexibility (except maybe Xbalanque), but otherwise, it is a great item for bruisers since they are ability reliant. Sadly underestimated...

DroboBrandegee (2) | February 5, 2014 5:43pm
I don't know I might use it on mana intensive Hunters like Xbalanque or even assassins like Bastet or Loki

Raventhor (158) | January 27, 2014 10:46am
I just want to note, that at 1050 mana total, that's literally MORE than a hunter has at max level. From one item alone.

I wouldn't use it on a hunter (they simply don't have the build flexibility :c), but on bruisers it's nasty.

Subzero008 (112) | January 27, 2014 10:26am
Max stacks, 1050 mana from this item alone.

Combined with the passive, this item grants 66.5 physical power. The lowest mana pool of any hunter at 20 is 885.

That means, at the absolute minimum, this item grants 93.05 physical power.

DroboBrandegee (2) | January 27, 2014 9:52am
I agree I love using Transcendence on Sun Wukong or Tyr for the Physical Power and Mana for more Sustain.

SoulSplit | May 31, 2013 1:51am
This item is pretty underestimated,
At full stacks this item can give 51 physical power and 800 mana.
The 800 mana comes from the 50 stacks, 2% of the mana ( 16 ) will be converted to physical power.
35+16=51.
In my opinion this could be one of the best physical items.
