Osiris's Lore

Smite God Osiris Never has there been, nor shall there be a king more perfect than Osiris. Son of the Earth God, Geb, Osiris was divine royalty by birth, and all the land his birthright. Benevolence and prosperity were the hallmarks of his reign. Would that he had been left to shape the world, but the jealousy of his brother, Set, changed the course of fate.

Seeking to usurp the throne, Set deceived and murdered his brother, tearing his body to pieces and casting them across the land. Isis, Osiris’ wife, secretly fled while Set plunged the kingdom into darkness. For years she toiled to reassemble her husband while his spirit form, his Ba, endured. Yet for all her searching, she could not find every part of him, and Isis was forced to reanimate Osiris without. Though not strong enough to defy Set in this incomplete form, Osiris gave Isis a son that would topple the tyrant Set and restore balance to Egypt.

What remains of Osiris is a fragment of what he once was. Robbed of his crown over the earth, he now governs the realm of the dead with the same benevolence he ruled the living. But darkness looms again, and though broken, Osiris refuses to sit idly by. Mustering the last of his strength and spirit, Osiris seeks to change the course of fate, this time for the light over darkness.

Can you get away with building less physical protections on Osiris?
I played against a 4 phys team but I only built Hide of the Lion and still did good.

Can you get away with it? Sure, sometimes. Thing I think everyone needs to remember is...this game, and any game that's a PVP in general, has many, many variables, and no 2 games will be alike. So, can you get away with it? Depends...
  • Your whole team consists of amazing players and everyone works together really well to gank, support, etc.
  • The enemy team is horrible, or just even not as good as you. Could be skill, could also be not knowing how to build and counter build.
  • The enemy laner is magical, and the majority of the game time was spent in a 1v1 and their jungler didn't really pressure you.

Those are just some very basic examples. But you can also consider that Osiris also has two forms of damage reduction, via Fragmented and Judgement Tether. This can greatly make up for less protections...and he's better as a bruiser anyway, I think. If they're not working well as a team, and you can do mostly 1v1, you can easily get the upper hand with higher damage output.

I always feel that, against an unbalanced team heavy on magical or physical, it's really beneficial to build more protections, and to build it earlier rather than later. But if you've just built one, and you find you're doing well, you might be able to get away with just the one...if they're getting steamrolled, you may find them tilting, or just changing up their gameplay and becoming more meek just because they're scared of taking chances. See, those are other variables...so many variables, that there's never really a straight answer. (or a short one, when it comes to me)

I have a compilation of builds that I've used for multiple situations. Osiris is DEFINITELY one of the better Solo laners to this day, the only 2 gods that will give you hell in solo are Bellona and Ravana. If you've been maxing out your Spirit Flail to clear wave and using Judgement Tether to deter foes, then you are doing that right. If you are still having trouble, tell me what it is you usually build. You also have to consider level of skill between you and your opponent.

Caution and reasonable assessment of your opponent in the solo lane are things you should be exercising during the laning phase. The major part of playing Osiris is knowing exactly when to beat the **** out of people. You generally want to avoid trying to kill someone in lane until you've cleared wave, unless you already have your first defense item and its high defense. If you're relatively new to Osiris, play him in arena. That is the practice ground for all new gods for me until I get a feel for how they play :)

Im having the hardest time Solo Laning with this character. I heard DMBrandon say hes one of the best Solo laners. Ive tried all other warriors except Osiris cause I really didnt see him as a solo laner. I do the usual tentacles when the opposing God is nearby, and Flail the back minions. I dont know what the hell Im doing wrong but im having a rough time here.

I am looking for a way to solve the damage problem of osiris. And I am on a headache with it.First, his progression is really freakin frustrating.Every four strike of him only do three strikes of damage, even though it make his attack speed faster but still seem to not enough!!!The first thing come out of my mind is that Qin's Sais will be useful to him because of his progression. If you wanna build him with crit damage, there comes the problem. The second strike and the fourth strike of him is dealing half damage but somehow it often crit....DAMN!With rage,my damage become the same on every single strike=progression:(None)...If I build death bringer with him,he is totaly waste cause in that case he have no difference between an assassin or maybe weaker.
Some people say that with full CDR osiris, his Sickle Strike will become balanced with the damage that he give out by basic attack.people also complain about Odyssey Bow will be suitable to him.I would like to know your opinion.

I think Osiris is a well balanced god, since he does have no fleeing abilities except for his ultimate. He's also vulnerable to a lot of other gods as well.

His ult is only single target and kinda hard to hit actually and has no CC immunity. His 1 deal good enough damage and is a skillshot. Though i agree he has Nemesis syndrome, a warrior-type assassin

Well he also has his passive to provide protection during ganks, so that also makes him extremely dangerous. I think I'm gonna buy him next, I played him during that ultimate god weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Fixed lore, cost, and god reveal. I also think I might have a guide coming for him, after screwing around with him and seeing other people play him I think he has a lot of potentional and is very underrated.

I have done as was asked of me. Hope you're all content.

Anyway, I might do one. It'll involve 6 damage items with no attack speed or boots and just one shotting people with your ult

because that's all you need to do.
