Sun Wukong's Lore

Smite God Sun Wukong Warrior, rebel, trickster, monk, Sun Wukong is known by many titles in the East, yet it was a Journey to the West that made him a hero.

In his youth, Sun Wukong gained leadership of the monkey tribes, learned secret arts and spells from a Taoist monk, and acquired the legendary Ruyi Jingu Bang from Ao Kuang, a staff that could change size according to his whim. He defied death itself by wiping his name from the Book of Life and Death, and united many of the other monster tribes who sought to ally with him, an act that garnered the attention of the Jade Emperor.

In an effort to better control the Monkey-King, the Jade Emperor awarded him a title, but when Sun Wukong discovered his new position was little more than “stable boy” he grew angry and declared himself “Great Sage, Equal of Heaven,” and waged war on the heavens. For this treasonous act, he was finally captured and imprisoned beneath a mountain for five centuries.

At long last, the humble monk Xuanzang was seeking disciples to protect him while on his legendary Journey to the West to collect the Indian Sutras. Sun Wukong gladly agreed to serve him, but the Buddha wrapped a golden circlet around the Monkey King’s head so that Xuanzang could control him. With three other disciples, they faced eighty one trials during their quest, and collected the sutras. For his service and strength, Sun Wukong was awarded Buddhahood, finally ascending to heaven and gaining immortality.

With an epic battle between Gods taking place, Sun Wukong’s presence is all but assured.

He is reliable, overall, he has a great bullying early, utility and a lot more to offer for a team late then most warriors because of his peels and utility aspects, while other picks like Ravana offer more damage but less utility.

As much as I like Wukong, his damage is very poor but he makes up for that with his defense and utility. If you don't get BSP and level your Magic Cudgel early, you'll lose the lane and the game. He has a very safe but very weak poke, combined with his mama hungry play style and you have a recipe for disaster.

Alright. So I've checked tier list from almost everyone. And they have him low tier.
After seeing him in action in the last few days, people are still wreckinG sololane with this dude. I see laning phases as pretty important and he still does action really good job. How does he suck at all now?
I know he's been needed and action LL but his still good at his job

I don't keep track of my Win Rate, but from what I remember, I have done poorly as a Support mainly because I hate the role. I feel better Support players can do really well with him, and if they are a good Warrior player as well they could do some work.

Is Wukong only good becauseof bluestone? Hes very fun to play, but that seems to be about it. Hes not a bad character at all, but i feel people say that because of his Escapes :/
I cant seem to do much damage with him sometimes.

So are all these guides still viable/useful or what? Since ive only began playing this game in thr month of August idk the item changes and character nerfs. I heard Quin Sais are weak now, and that's about it.
Im mostly asking as to improve in this character with items and all. Im using them as guidelines for now until i learn how yo build on my own.

I updated my guide so it should be good for the current patch.

UUUUGGHHHH. I finally got to correct his lore: it showed pre-beta Sun Wukong lore instead of the newest one. It's been bothering me for quite sometime.

A good tip for him to to always remember your decoy. Make sure if you can with it, you're out of sight when you use it so they think the decoy is you. Also, if no one is in the lane then it makes a remarkable tower-tank. Keep in mind that it has the same protections as you, so it is very durable.

I want to see at least one guide for him that talks about Asi. It gives him pen, attack speed, lifesteal, and a passive that will sustain you in the 40-50% range in a fight which benefits your passive. It's also super cheap and can be bought in the solo lane or jungle to supplement your lack of sustain.

but....I don't want to have to try D:
just like
[SUN]
bam.

I'd make one for him but to be honest, he's pretty complicated to play. I know my on-paper stuff, but for tips and tricks..he's complicated.

My only suggestion is know when to cancel your Ox and Eagle transformation, and learn how far you can go in Cat before it ends without being able to stun.

We'll know. Remember that we can see their release dates, so I don't think that there will be too many problems.

In other words, I can find them, and my Natsu Missiles can find them too.

[-]
Raventhor (157) | October 23, 2013 8:29pm
it'd be nice if every new guide could have [SUN] attached to the front of it, to make sure it is a NEW guide, and we know it.

JararoNatsu (51) | October 23, 2013 8:21pm
Unfortunately, guides cannot be removed from the database. Not sure on the specifics as to why, but it would be nice if all of these people had archived their guides when Sun Wukong's old version was removed. Seeing as that is not the case, we are stuck with these guides unless their writers archived or updated them.
1
[-]
VorikVolens (1) | October 23, 2013 8:19pm
Can we get a wipe for all these old guides? I'm sure I'm not the only one who started to read one before getting to the skill descriptions and realizing what happened. Heck, some won't even go that far and will just take the build itself as gospel, which will ruin a lot of player's experiences.

I do not think that that would help, because there are a lot of good sun wukong guides that can work on batz since it was no mayor rework

The problem is, some ability name changes as well as the BB coding and such. Yes, the creator of the guide could make a change of Sun to Hun; but some guides are old, and some creators are innactive.

That's awesome that they use his lore from the actual novel! They should've made it more clear that he nearly took the Eastern Heaven. It took Buddha himself to trap Sun Wukong under that mountain.

Kind of like LoL, his game play is sort of lame for all the abilities he actually has. LoL did a better job imo, but they're both kind of bad to me lol. He looks so stupid in this game too XD Why can't designers go make something less dumb, like this?
