Introduction

Greetings.

My name is JCare and this is my Hun Batz guide.
I've been playing Smite for a year although I don't really play ranked so this build I only know it works in the non-ranked environment, in Conquest, Clash and Siege.
Although it most likely will work in the Ranked environment as well.

Hun Batz is the Mayan Monkey God and probably one of the funniest and easiest gods to play decently in Smite. He is also one of the few assassins with plenty of team fight presence.
The general aim of this build is to take advantage of Hun Batz passive while increasing the chances for it to apply.

Pros / Cons

Pros:
Great Jungler
Great Damage and Wave Clear
Great Team Fight Presence and Initiation through his Ultimate
Awsome Voice Pack

Cons:
Only one form of Hard Crowd Control (in his Ultimate)

Skills

Passive: Hun Batz passive is simple and yet extremely powerful. After activating an ability, Hun Batz next basic attack will have an extra 30% chance to critical hit.

1) Somersault: The 1st ability, Somersault, is your standard jump, available to several other gods. In Hun Batz case it can often be used as a way to engage and drop unexpected in the middle of the enemy team to drop the Ultimate, however, it is advised to save it for getting out of the fight.

2) Overhand Smash: Hun Batz Second ability is a cone shaped attack that takes a small time to charge up. It hits relatively hard and if approached by the side is capable of hitting the entire minion wave, flattening those that get killed.

3) Sacred Monkey: This ability is the one that separates the great Hun Batz from the good ones. It is a line attack that send a monkey that will hit a target and jump to the nearest target 3 times. That's 4 targets. If activated again, Hun Batz will teleport to the monkeys next target. If there are no next targets it will teleport to the last one hit. Aditionally, the passive procs not only for sending the monkey as well as for the teleport, meaning the passive can proc twice for one ability.

4) Fear No Evil: The most awsome and powerful ability in the game. Once activated it sends every enemy in the afected circle (rather large area) fleeing away from its center at a rather slow movement speed, until they move out of the affected area. Aditionally it also deals damage. This is Hun Batz inititation in team fights and what makes him such a great team fight asset unlike most assassins. Since Hun Batz has to be in the middle of enemy team for the ability to affect them it is advised to be used after teleporting with Sacred Monkey or Blink.
If you manage to fear the enemies into a wall they will be CC'd for the entire duration as well as takes its full damage.

The priority while leveling should be Fear no Evil>Overhand Smash>Summersault>Sacred Monkey.

Items

Hun Batz is an ability based god, whose passive encourages the building of crit items. As such most items chosen reflect the need for more power, more crit chance and more cooldown reduction.

1) Bumba's Mask: The usual starter item of every jungler. It helps clearing the jungle and provides some additional sustain. Rangda's Mask is another option, although I recomend this one.

2) Warrior's Tabi: Hun Batz is a character that doesn't rely on connecting several basic attacks in a row, so these are the best boots for it. Gives movement speed and attack power. Two things Hun Batz can use.

3) Jotunn's Wrath: Power, Mana and Cooldown Reduction. Everything Hun Batz could use in the early game.

4) Hydra's Lament: Power, Cooldown Reduction and a passive that sinergizes with Hun Batz passive, where after an ability the next basic attack will do extra damage.

5 & 6) Malice and Deathbringer: Power, Crit Chance and On-Crit Effects (together with passive Hun Batz reaches a whooping 70% crit chance). With both these items Hun Batz can start to try to fight even when all of his abilities are on cooldown.

7) Relic Dagger: Sell the Mask and get this item. By this point Hun Batz doesn't need any more power. What this item does give is a more global presence with increased movement speed, health, a capped cooldown reduction and even reduced cooldown on the relics, allowing for greater use of Blink for initiation and beads to stay alive.

Relics: Blink should be the first relic chosen. The basic Hun Batz inititation consists on blinking into the enemy team and using Fear no Evil to CC them, and it is often enough to guarantee a few kills, so it is important to get it available as soon as possible.
Beads are the most crucial survival relic in the game, required for any character but the sturdiest, if they want to stay alive.

Consumables: Personally I recommend buying the health and mana chalices sometime around Jotunn's Wrath (either before or after). Although they seem to set Hun Batz back an item they do provide enough sustain in the long run to more then make up for the initial cost.

Team Work

Hun Batz is an ability based god and although his job as an assassin mostly involves in getting kills, everyones ultimate goal should be to win games and as such the use of his abilities in ways that might help the team achieve should be done (including killing other gods).

As such, and considering the 30% (40% at late game) early cooldown reduction, it should be noted that a few of Hun Batz abilities could be used to set up kills for your colleagues or to save them should the need arise.

Sommersault has a slow applied at the landing and as such it can provide a teammate some relief from a more persistent persuer.

Fear no Evil will stop any enemy in their tracks, stopping their attack unless they are CC immune. Use this ability to save a teammate if needed be.

The basic team fight combo consists on blinking into the enemy team (I know I said it several times before but IT IS the most important Hun Batz combo) making your opponents move in very predictable patterns. Perfect for any hard hitting abilities like Kukulkan's "Spirit of the Nine Winds" or Scylla's "I'm a Monster".

Final Thoughts

So, with this small guide, I hope you can have as much fun as I as you jump around the battlefield.

Please, do note this is my first guide and as such any and all tips are welcome (even negative ones, although please be constructive).

To finalize and in the words of the wise Monkey God Hun Batz:

Go bananas, man.
