Hi Everyone, welcome back to my second guide on here. Today I'm going to be going over a Midlane build for Anubis.'Second Time Doing This!' So like my Agni guide I'm going to give you a break down of his abilities and passive before we move on to the items.
Sorrow and can be found on your HUD in game if you don't already know where it is. This passive has to be one of the best in the game, it also splits in to 2 main segments.
Sorrow reduces the duration of all Crowd Control effects (CC) on him by 30%. This is particularly useful for attempting escapes on Anubis as he has no real escape, but it has no effect on displacement CC's such as Ares
and Xing Tian
ults
Sorrow, Anubis gains additional magical lifesteal from items up to 33% from each stack (max stacks 3) which also doubles his lifesteal effectively. For example if we take
Bancroft's it grants you with 15% lifesteal but accompanied by
Sorrow you are now receiving 30% lifesteal and that's with out the Items passive being procked.
Sorrow having a cap of 3 stacks he gains up to 21 protections in total.
Plague of Locusts the ability is a 120 degrees cone shaped AOE attack which locks him into place. You can also rotate the ability while its in use, the ability lasts 3 seconds and has tick damage for 0.5s. Though this ability is nice for clear it does put you as the player in an awkward spot as you are more likely to be ganked for an easy kill. Though it must be said Anubis becomes immune to knock ups from abilities such as
Poseidon's
Tidal Wave and
Vulcan's
Magma Bomb
Mummify is what he is know for along with his ultimate
Death Gaze. This ability is a stun that lasts up to 2 seconds locking your enemy in place. Though the cooldown is quite high so use with caution. This ability can serve as a combo set up and escape depending on the situation, the major downside to this ability is that its really hard to hit when you first start playing him due to timing your enemies duke patterns but once you have this ability down you will be pretty much a pain to deal with on the battle field. This ability typically combos with the following your three
Grasping Hands during poking fights and later on when you are going to set up the wombo combo of his two, three and his ult.
Grasping Hands. This ability is a long range circular AOE attack and is one of the safest abilities in Anubis' kit. This ability applies a 25% slow to enemies passing through or within in the radius of the ability for 2 seconds applying a tick every 0.5s. This ability should really be the main focus for leveling due to it being the main wave clear for Anubis with ult obviously being leveled when given the chance.
Death Gaze the most satisfying ability of them all. This ability is a long range ability which lasts for 3 seconds dealing damage every 0.1s as tick damage. Here is the math for this ability, overall this ability deals 30 ticks in total with damage dealing 23/28/33/38/43 (+15% of your magical power) each tick and then its deals up to 690/840/990/1140/1290 (+450% of your magical power as damage). This makes it the most damaging ability in the game. Though like
Plague of Locusts you are locked into a position which means you can rotate the ability and you also are granted CC immunity while in this ability which makes you immune to Crowd Control Effects. Oh and it also passes through minions, walls and multiple enemies.
Sands of Time, is very heavily used within the meta right now basically due to how useful its and how its a tiny bit OP, but what this item brings as a starter is the following +20 magical power, +5MP5 which is nice as it allows you to remain in lane due the mana regen and it also gives you 10% CDR. Its passive is also procked from the missing mana which in turn regens your mana with 2 MP5 per 10% of your missing mana. Overall it makes your lane pressure a little better in the early stages of the game.
Vampiric Shroud, compared to
Sands of Time is not really used as much this season due to how its very lack luster in the meta as most people will agree you don't get the return for the cost of the item. This item gives you the following +20 magical power, +100 health and +4% magical lifesteal which is nice but its the passive people tend to say is lack luster. The passive restores you with 10 health and 8 mana apon killing an enemy. Simply the mana return is no longer viable but its up to you if you want to use this item.
Soul Stone, so this item is still used with in the meta simply because of the damage it grants you in the early stages of the game. The item gives you +20 magical power and +100 mana, but its the passive that makes this item shine. The passive on this item gives the player the following, once you have max stacks (max stack 5) the next ability that you use to deal damage consumes the stacks giving you 40 mana back in return and that ability and any abilities used in the next 3 seconds deals bonus damage equal to having +40 magical power for those particular abilities. So overall this is also a great pick for Anubis.
Shoes of the Magi is a good choice simply because of the following reason Anubis lacks mobility in the early to mid phases of the game. This item gives you a nice +45 magical power and a nice +10 penetration aswell as +18% movement speed. This item accompanied along with his passive
Sorrow which grants him with protections from his enemies allows for him to deal true damage at max stacks (max stacks 3)
Shoes of Focus is also a good pick if you are deciding to choose
Obsidian Shard for your fifth item. *More can be found further on below*.
Doom Orb works exceptionally well with Anubis just because of the damage you gain from its stacks along with Anubis' damage you can just rule your lane and the match if you are skilled enough. So what
Doom Orb gives you is +40 magical power, +200 mana and +7MP5. The passive also grants you with +2 magical power from each stack you have gained (max stacks 50), but it must be mentioned when you die you will lose half of your stacks so if you dont feel comfortable using this item because maybe you are behind or your lane is having frequent ganks from the jungler then stay away!.
Doom Orb then this item might be the better choice for you. This item is really useful on Anubis due to the lifesteal and how it works with his passive
Sorrow. This items give you +100 magical power and +15% lifesteal (+30% with max stack passive with out the items passive being procked)
Bancroft's this item grants you lifesteal but this item has more team utility. So this item grants you with +40 magical power, +12% magical lifesteal, +200 mana and it also gives you 10% CDR. Not only that any allied gods within 70 units have their magical lifesteal increased by 12% and magical power increased by 30. If you have physical gods on your team they have their physical lifesteal increased by 10 and% and power increased by 20. Now if you add Anubis' passive
Sorrow into the mix you gain 48% magical lifesteal. *Must be noted that double lifesteal is not worth getting as the cap is 65%*
Breastplate grants you with +65 physical protection, +300 mana, +10MP5 abd reduces cooldown on all abilities by 20%. This item is useful against heavy physical damage teams.
Void Stone is a decent pick for Anubis. It grants you with +40 magical power and +70 magical protection, its passive also reduces protections by 20 on any enemy gods within in 55 units.
Spear of the Magus has seen some changes over the past seasons but with the mechanics that Anubis has it remains to be a strong pick in many cases. This item gives +50 magical power and +15 magical penetration, it also reduces enemy protections by 10 points for 5 seconds every time you hit them with your abilities. With Anubis' abilities having ticks its very easy to achieve the 5 stacks. I must say this is a great choice against squishy gods and gods who have built one or two protections.
Shoes of the Magi for Cdr boots. What Cdr boots gives you is 10% cooldown reduction instead of 10 flat pen. This Cdr is more usefull in the later stages of the game.
Sorrow you gain 40%). Oh it also gives you 10% Cdr for abilities. The passive of this item is every 15 seconds when you are hit buy CC effects (Examples are stuns, silences and fears) the damage taken is reduced by 15% for the next 3 seconds.
Aegis is one of the more decent choices simply because it makes you invulnerable to damage and healing for 2 seconds, this does also prevents you from using abilities but allows you to still move compared to the season 2 version. It has a cooldown of 160 seconds but it becomes 130 when upgraded.
Standard Wards or if you are not behind then
Chalice of the Oracle which costs 400 gold but refills when you back.
