Thor - The Horror of Ranged (Carries)

Dear reader,

So u have chosen to play Thor, son of Odin, a God possessing such great powers, beeing able to move the mountains and call the thunder.
Well, u made a good choice, as he is also one of the most versatile and fun to play gods ull find in Smite.
In this guide i'll give a report about the experiences I had with Thor and the way I play him.
But be warned, if u are here to deal out loads of damage u are at the wrong place.
I am concentrating on beeing able to tank as well physical and magical damage, still dishing out enough damage to kill the carries.
In another word this is a guide for a bruiser.

Pros


- Very high basicdamage with the spin and the hammerthrow
- Great passive making him really strong in teamfights
- Good initiatorskills
- 2 escapskills
- Very handy in teamfights
- Moderate tanking

Cons


- Needs some practice on his skills
- You often overestimate yourself as unkillable
- You might get flamed for Thor beeing a noobgod
- You might get foccused alot, just because thor is badass

Dont be too aggressive, thought u dish out loads of damage u arent a carry.
If your lanepartner has a stun be sure to harass them steadily with your ²Tectonic Rift²
so yoour lanepartner is able to stun them.
Dont waste your hammer as it doesnt deal out too much damage but it is a great escape or initiator.
In case you get ganked and you feel like you wont win the fight stop the enemies with a little wall and get under the twoer if u still are under attack teleport with your hammer and if they attempt to towerdive you simply spin to win!

Now this is where Thor gets really badass.
Since you should have yur both mainitems (Bullwork of Hope, Voidblade), the most squishy enemies will get crushed by your combos.
You have great gankingpotential as Thor, just make sure to hit your wall on enemies without jump before they can escape and that should be it.
In teamfights try to initiate with your ultimate and if u dont keep it in mind as a great escape.
But be warned you still shouldnt stand in front. YOU ARE NO TANK !!!!!!!
Try to get to the squishies and take them out of the teamfights.

Now this is Thors time where he can shine as a realy versatile god.
You now should be able to easily kill the squishies. Now u also are able to tank a firegiant but as you dont have lifesteal dont expect to survive a firegiantgank. So better let someone else tank the firegiant.
Try to get the damage and the cooldownbuff as they are really usefull on Thor.
Dont forget to ward Firegiant and Goldfury. Also buy yourself stats depending on whether you get focused or you want to dish out more damage.
If you get focused buy yourself health and defensivestats.
If u want to get a total killingmachine buy yourself some critchance or lifesteal.
