Introduction

A Scylla guide by: Gusher

Hello, and welcome to my Scylla guide. Over the coming weeks I will be doing my best to cover a majority of the gods in SMITE to give you an updated version of my builds in use of the current meta. I feel that there are not currently enough theorycrafters out there. So I will do my best to give you a large selection of gods to learn from.

Also a side note I moderate for a wonderful streamer by the name of Desanya be sure to check her out and you can catch me on to ask any questions:http://www.twitch.tv/desanya

A guide suggestion by:

A guide suggested by and created for: GSneakySanchez, enjoy!

Pros / Cons

Pros

Mobile ward
Good escape
Nuke resetting Ultimate
Good scaling mid-late game
High presence mid-late game

Cons

Squishy
Bad early game
Bad wave clear early
Long cooldowns
Difficult to pick up

Early Game

Early game as Scylla you can find yourself going out of mana rather quickly. This is why I recommend two Mana Potion's. You need to have a good management on your skills, if you get too trigger happy you will find yourself recalling often, naturally we are looking to prevent that.

During this phase of the game, Scylla is at her weakest. Your best notion during this phase is to poke and farm from afar.

Do not look to get yourself into danger, if you find yourself in a sticky situation remember your Sentinel. ONLY use this ability offensively when you are sure you will gain a kill from it, even then be very aware of your surroundings prehand.

Mid Game

If things are going decent you now have Shoes of the Magi and Bancroft's Talononline.

Also Crush will be max ranked. This means you now have a 25% Magical Protection Debuff to enemies within your ability, note* this debuff DOES apply when the ability activates again to deal damage, making it a great burst tool on any enemy target.

During this phase you will be looking to rotate and gank often. Lead with your Sic 'Em remember that this ability has a delay so you need to lead it in front of your targets direction a little, you will have to get a feel for it first hand.

Directly after Sic 'Em is a great opportunity to follow up with your I'm a Monster. If possible, try to lead with Crush for the 25% magical protection debuff, if you then land Sic 'Em inside of Crush's aura. Follow up with I'm a Monster directly after landing the ultimate pop Crush for your hardest hitting combination.

Late game

You are now full build and should have swapped out Shoes of the Magi for Shoes of Focus.

Your full build grants a total of 606 magical power.

Your ultimate I'm a Monster after base damage of 800 and applying the 125% scale grand totals to 1557magical power. When Soul Reaver is off of cooldown look to aim this toward a Hunter, this will at the lowest dish out 90% of their health pool, a quick follow up and it is a 5v4 before either side could react.

At this stage in the game, you will be a high burst mage, with little defense. A prime target the enemy will be looking to erase before and during teamfights. Keep Sentinal on you for safety only, if you are picked off your team will be seeing a heavy disadvantage and losing objective control.

Why not Polynomicon?

I find this item to be highly ineffective. First of all the effect will fade even when missing the auto attack that is charged by the ability. Secondly, it requires a large amount of magical power to have a decent follow up damage, I would not recommend switching this item out in replacement over anything stated in this guide.

Tips & Tricks

  • Sic 'Em can root a total of 3 targets

  • Crush applies a 25% magical protection debuff, this is applied to the activation damage.

  • When activating Sentinel for the second time, you are untargetable.

  • Use Sentinel for checking objectives if a safe passage is not guaranteed.

  • Your strongest hitting combination is as follows: lead with Crush for the 25% magical protection debuff, if you then land Sic 'Em inside of Crush's aura. Follow up with I'm a Monster directly after landing the ultimate pop Crush

Closing Statement

Great guide. Only thing I would say, at level 8, don't put a point into your abilities. It's a short level generally (and you can always grab monster camps to help out). In return at level 9 you have a rank 2 ultimate and a rank 5 crush and you dominate from there on out. At at level 13 I look at my ult's cd, if it's still high I grab my fifth point in Sic'em, since I'll likely level up again before ult comes off cd.

But I really like your item build, I often find myself swapping chronos pendant in for 40% cdr, but other than that, it's very close

Thanks for the suggestion! Also, it is important to remember that a root does not work like a stun, mobility moves are still online during a root. So you have to pick your target carefully.

True! That's why I really like to play with someone with a stun or silence :)
There are still games where I don't land a single Scylla ult, but the 1-2 does enough damage that you don't need the ult. Scylla definitely works best with a team that has some CC to help with your ult, but that's the trade-off to the amount of damage she does; her abilities are somewhat slow.

I'm not saying your build is wrong in any way, it is a solid build with Scylla. I just want to offer a suggestion that I find useful.
For Conquest I start Vampiric Shroud and Soul Reliquary. This leaves you with no extra gold for pots or an active, but play safe and don't push and go back as soon as you can buy Book of Thoth. I also tend to get Gem of Isolation over Void Stone to make her abilities easier to land.

The only other thing I would note is that if you are going for the Crush - Sic' Em - I'm a Monster combo, the root on Sic' Em doesn't last long enough to where you can hit them with the I'm a Monster while they are still rooted... I've had Neith backflip out of my Ult so many times... grrrr...

But seriously I've looked through a few of your builds and they are solid, I just play a little outside the box sometimes... Like my most powerful/trolly build for Scylla is:
Book of Thoth
Shoes of the Magi
Warlock's Sash
Ethereal Staff
Rod of Tahuti
Bancroft's Talon

It gives you enough mana that you will have a hard time running out. It just lacks in Penetration, but you should have 900+ magical power with the build. You also have enough health that you can take a few hits; still super squishy though.

Here's my opinion on the matter if you want it. Chronos' pendant does give a very nice CDR bonus for all abilities, however it's not needed. Chronos' pendant gives a 25% CDR however at your late or end game you will have shoes of the focus instead of shoes of the magi, this will give you a 15% CDR plus 10% if you pick up a mana camp buff which will equal 25%. Essentially the same as a chronos'.
