Introduction

Odin is one of the best warriors in the game, in my opinion. He's my personal favorite god and can dish out tons of damage, take a brutal beating, and help set up kills for other teammates.

That is, of course, if you have the right build for him. I'll be taking you through my personal build for Odin, that balances out offense and defense.

Item Build

The purpose of this build is to ultimately give you a high amount of physical power, near-capped physical protection with a decent chunk of magical protection, full cooldown reduction, and good physical penetration.

Your purchase order basically gives you offense, then defense, then offense and so on. Let's get started, shall we?

Transcendence
This may be expensive for your first item, but believe me, it's worth it. Your next three items and your final item all give you mana, and you'll be able to build your stacks very early on, which means you get a good chunk of physical power early.

Hide of the Urchin
Your first defensive item. You'll get decent bonuses to health and mana here, along with 35 protections and another stacking passive. With how often you'll get at the very least assists, you'll have your stacks for this item maxed out quickly.

Jotunn's Wrath
Your next offensive item. You'll get your first bit of physical penetration here along with 40 physical power, which will give you a good boost to damage. You'll also get your first bit of cooldown reduction, 20%. Add in mana for extra physical power thanks to Transcendence and you'll be dishing out good mid-game damage.

Breastplate of Valor
While this is mostly a defense item, you'll get 300 mana and your last bit of cooldown reduction here, which'll boost your damage further. You get 75 physical protection, so now you're safe to start charging into groups.

Titan's Bane
Your last bit of physical penetration. With this, your damage skyrockets and your kills/assists will start piling up high.

Hide of the Nemean Lion
The final item. You'll get a whopping 90 physical protection from this, along with a tiny bit of physical power from the 200 mana, and the passive basic attack damage reflect. At this point, anyone who's basic attacking you is going to dish out a good bit of damage, which'll be mitigated by your insanely high physical protection, and if it's not, their damage is gonna go right back at 'em.

Sprint (Relic 1)
Take Sprint as your first relic. This build's weakness is a lack of speed, so having this will help.

Curse (Relic 2)
Take Curse to further counter your lack of speed.

Ability Usage

Lunge
You'll be building up Lunge as quick as possible for two reasons: Mobility and Damage. Once you get Lunge at max, it's cooldown is reduced by 4 seconds. Add 40% cooldown reduction to that, and you'll be able to use Lunge every 6 or 7 seconds. As for damage, it benefits from 70% of your physical power, and you'll have a good bit of that.

There are two main uses you get out of Lunge. Your first is that it's good for leaping into groups of enemies and doing damage to everything around you. Your second is that it can also act as an emergency escape.

I've found that if you REALLY need to get away, drop your Ring of Spears and leap forward with Lunge. That way, they'll be blocked by your Ring and you'll be able to get a quick and safe getaway.

Raven Shout
This is your 2nd priority in terms of ability building. It gives you a base shield of 400 at it's max rank. Add 60% of your good chunk of physical power to that and you've got a shield that'll make you even more unkillable.

The bonus damage isn't really something you'll care too much about. If you're boxing someone, it can help a tad, but it's not really that much damage.

Gungnir's Might
Honestly, this doesn't do much damage. It's main purpose with this build is to act as a slow. It'll do near-decent area damage once maxed out and with your near-full build, but that's later on obviously.

Ring of Spears
Your ultimate's main purpose is to trap groups of enemies, obviously. The best usage you can get out of Ring of Spears is to Lunge into a group of enemies, then lay down Ring of Spears and use Gungnir's Might to slow everyone.

It syncs up well with a lot of other ultimates, especially Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, and Kali strangely enough.

This build hits hard. I wasn't too excited without shoes, but I secured 15 kills. Good job. SMITEFire Blind Pick Approval. :D
