Introduction

Hello, this is my first guide, so I'd appreciate any constructive criticism.

Ne Zha is a unique hero in that his basic attacks come in the form of a combo sequence that ends with an AOE. This is all kinds of useful

Pros / Cons

PRO'S

Absurd late game Damage
Good early harassment with Ring Toss
Great Chaser
Combo attack allows for easy farming/jungling
Really fast attacks with Flaming Spear

CON'S

Squishy
No escapes, except for Wind Fire Wheels
Late game target

Skills

Child of the Lotus

When Ne Zha dies, his indomitable spirit is reborn from a Lotus at his location, healing nearby allies every second and increasing their protections. Ne Zha's basic attacks also utilize a four swing chain, with the final attack in the chain dealing damage to all enemies in front of him.

Ability: Area Affects: Allies Radius: 30 Heal per Tick: 10% of Ne Zha's maximum health Protections: 30 Duration: 6s

The last hit in your combo is a key farming ability, there is about a 4 second window for you to initiate the next attack in the combo before the entire sequence resets. Keep this in mind before killing jungle camps in the early part of the game; as your running up to a camp attack 3 times to queue the AOE attack so that you hit the whole camp with your first attack.

Universe Ring Toss

Ne Zha throws the Universe Ring where it bounces to nearby enemies, dealing 50/70/90/110/130 (+15% of your physical power) and bounces: 5/6/7/8/9 times. Applies a stacking physical protection debuff for 3s (10 per stack) and slows the enemy by 25% for 1s. Each successful hit also applies a stacking movement speed buff to Ne Zha for 2s (4% per stack). Cost: 50/55/60/65/70 Cooldown: 12s

If you can get a Mana Buff at the start of the game, you can use this to harass very effectively. With out the buff its still good, but definitely use it more sparingly.
Very good Gank initiating ability, allows you to close the gap quickly between you and the enemy Hero.
Always make sure that there are at least two enemies before using this skill

Flaming Spear

Ne Zha empowers himself with fighting spirit, igniting his spear to increased Attack Speed by 15/25/35/45/55% and Critical Strike Chance by 15% for 6 seconds.
Cost: 55/60/65/70/75 Cooldown: 18s

This is what gives Ne Zha absurd burst damage. Keep in mind that there is about a 1 second cast animation. I max this first because it helps to ensure successful ganks, quicker farming, and team fight presence.

Armillary Sash

Ne Zha throws out his Armillary Sash hitting the first enemy god in its path. The target is stunned for 1s as Ne Zha yanks himself toward the target, dealing 70/100/130/160/190 (+150% of your physical power) to all enemies in the area when he arrives.
Cost: 75 Cooldown: 18/17/16/15/14s

I use this skill primarily to catch fleeing Hero's, best thing about it is that it can go through creeps since it only targets hero's.

Wind Fire Wheels

Ne Zha dashes forward. If he hits an enemy god, he knocks it skyward for 4s, unleashing a combo dealing 30/50/70/90/110 (30% of your physical power) per hit (successfully timed clicks during the combo result in critical strikes), then smashing back to Earth, dealing 60/100/140/180/220 (50% of your physical power) to enemies in the radius as he flips back to his starting location.
Cost: 80/90/100/110/120 Cooldown: 90

This Ultimate has a variety of different functions, its another option to kill fleeing enemies if you miss your Armillary Sash, it gives teammates a 4 second window to get to the location of a gank, and gives you a viable escape option which is what i generally try to save it for.

Items

CORE ITEM'S

Warrior Tabi

These things are the Trifecta! Crit, Physical Power, and Attack Speed

Devourer's Gloves

Sometimes I'll get these built before level 3 Tabi's, just depends how much i want the life leech. I prioritize these as my first or second item because that 50 Physical Power and 20% Life Leech let you farm like a mad man, and help you recover from fights quickly.

Voidblade

More Damage and Extra Protection = Good times. I find that early game, this items static -25 armor is more beneficial than the percentage based reductions from other items because most Hero's will only have about 40-60 defense at this stage of the game. The Executioner for example would only subtract about 17 armor from a Hero with 60 defense ( 60 x 21% = 12.6 + 5). So unless their team has 3-5 "Tanks", I'd build this first.

Deathbringer

This thing allows for some seriously hard hitting (1k + at times)

LUXURY ITEM'S

Fatalis

Attack Faster and Move faster! This combined with sprint gives about 75% move speed, and that's without getting a Ring Toss bonus.

Golden Bow

The majority of your damage comes from Flaming Spear combined with auto attacks, this item gives you very nice team fight presence by making all of your attacks AOE. This is especially nice if you have a Hades or Ares on your team that can group up an enemy squad for you.

The Executioner

Grab this if they are too Tanky (I haven't had to yet)

Qin's Blades

Another Item to get if your having trouble with tanks (I haven't had to yet)

ACTIVE ITEM'S

Sprint

Helps chase fleeing Hero's and helps you escape those that would do you harm.

Purification Bead's

I almost always grab these, though I do have a bad habit of not getting them until I'm killed by some form of crowd control.

Girdle of Might

If the enemy team doesn't have CC that your scared of, or if they just cant hit you with the cc that they do have, grab this for extra killing potential.

Creeping Curse

This could be another option for kill insurance or to help get away (hit this and Sprint for roadrunner powers.

Alternative Build order

This build order puts the Golden Bow as your 3rd or 4th item which lets you farm a lot faster. I have only used this build order in Arena so far as it allows you to get the Buffs very quickly so you can get in and out before the other team can come to gank you. I am fairly certain that its also a viable build for Conquest, the ability to farm effortlessly cant be a bad thing.

Gameplay

Laning

I have only done duo lane as Ne Zha, but I have seen someone mid as her once successfully. To solo as her I would prob put another point or 2 in Ring Toss early game for harassment and get the left lane to help with Mana Buff before the first creep wave.

For the most part Ive started out with level 2 Tabi's and 2 health pots and 1 mana, but Ive also tried starting with lvl 1 Tabi's and lvl 1 Gloves and sustaining HP by queuing the AOE attack before hitting a wave.

Use your Ring Toss when there are only 1-2 archers left on their wave so that it bounces between them more than their creeps. If you use it on a fresh creep wave it may only hit an enemy hero one time.

Some good laning partners from my experience are Aphrodite for the sustainability she offers and Hades because his Ult practically guarantees a kill at level 5.

Ganking

At level 5-6, coordinate with your lane partner to secure kill(s) in your lane. Teleport back to finish Tabi's and build part of Gloves. If you don't have enough for both, just get the Gloves for now. Head to the Jungle and get the Mana Buff and Speed Buff. Head toward a lane to Gank, I generally initiate with Ring Toss because it debuff/slows them and helps me close the gap, as I'm running toward them I cast Flaming Spear (remember it has about a 1 second cast animation), then go to town on them with auto attacks. If they start running away you can use Armillary Sashto close the gap and finish them off.

If they start woopin on you / or your team mates didn't wake up in time to help, remember you have your Ultimate that you can use to buy more time for your team to arrive or to escape a sticky situation.

Team fights

One thing to keep in mind is that Ne Zha is squishy, it is my preference to have other heros initiate ( Hades, Ares, Ymir etc) and then roll in with the Gank sequence to pick off supports / carries. Keep in mind the various ways you can use your Ultimate as well, removing key opponents from the fight for 4 seconds (Ulting a Hel so she cant cleanse a Hades Ult for example)

Duo Lane Partners

Hades

His Ultimate at level 5 can practically guarantee kills when combined with your Flaming Spear. For those that can use skills to escape, you have your own Ultimate which can be used to deal damage as well as hold them in place while Hades catches up, along with Armillary Sash to close the gap again. If the person is still alive at this point, Hades own gap closer, Death from Below should be off cooldown.

In summary, you have great synergy with Hades Ultimate, and both Heroes have good chase capability.

Hel

Now I haven't actually laned with Hel while playing Ne Zha, but a decent player can provide great harassment and sustainability throughout the laning phase with her. I do not consider myself the best player out there, but I find that when I play as Hel, I can keep myself and my lane partner at full HP while keeping enemy heroes below 60%.

Many players have the tendency to stay in lane with absurdly low HP (30% and below), they will either stand well behind their creep wave (many times not close enough for XP), or they will tower hug. Take advantage of that for easy kills. ULTin on them at their tower if they are low enough, Hel's heal is enough to keep you from dying to tower hits.

Ymir

This is a fun lane combo, at level 5 you can initiate with Wind Fire Wheels. While you are doing this Ymir should cast his own Ultimate directly underneath so that when you land they eat a Ymir Ult.

Conclusion

Guide is done for now, I will be updating it as I get more chances to play him and try different build styles. Like starting out with Boots of Celerity instead of Tabi's because I'm kind of a movement speed Fanatic and want see the kind of difference that makes.

Ill be sure to also make changes based off of feedback I get from you guys and of course give credit.

Finally I'd like to thank you for reading this guide and for any constructive criticism you care to leave.
