Welcome one and all, this is my first guide on Smitefire so go easy on me for not having a very flashy guide and all. Hades was the second character that caught my eye on the god roster and is currently my only X character. I play him on all game modes since he can be very versatile with his different skills and unique passive.
Pros:
+Higher defense than most mages
+Can stay in a lane FOREVER if built right
+Can heal for more than half health off minions alone
+Amazing damage output late game
+Has an escape
+Great for team fights
Cons:
+Pretty bad early game (Conquest)
+Mana hungry
Blight is a pretty nice passive for Hades, allowing all of his other moves to have an addition effect and is applied pretty easily. His basic attacks, Death From Below, and Shroud of Darkness all apply blight.
Death From Below is Hades' everything. Its his engage, his escape, his finish, and also apply his passive to follow up with a devour souls. I recommend you don't use it often early to mid game though, it has a pretty heavy cooldown as does all of Hades' abilities, so keep it on standby in case you get ganked. If the enemy is already blighted then once you hit them, they are slowed.
At first glance, Shroud of Darkness might not seem like much, but the fact that it applies blight is all it needs to do, follow up with a Devour Souls and watch your health skyrocket. Use this from the side of minions to get all of them in one go, then if possible try and get all six or so that are blighted with Devour Souls. Also don't forget, if the enemy is already blighted then they are feared, making them run away for a duration.
Devour souls is your main offensive move. Like i said earlier use this after you've blighted them with Shroud of Darkness. If they are blighted, then this move will heal back hp for you AND your allies dependent on the amount of blighted enemies you hit with it, it will also explode the enemy and any enemy around them will get hurt, so you can imagine how doing this on a pack of minions will benefit you. If you have the lifesteal items for this build, then one wave of minions will get you about 30-40% minimum of your health back, letting you turn the tables on your opponents. as you can tell, Hades thrives around minions.
Lastly, The Pillar of Agony. It will suck all enemies around you towards you, damaging them over time. Its a great ultimate to combo with other gods, but (like most others) is negated by purification. In any case, its still a great way to start a team fight. another thing to note is if the enemy is blighted then they lose protections and take more damage, not to mention you gain protections from doing your ultimate, so its a win/win.
I choose Reinforced Shoes because it gives Hades a decent amount of health to start and provides crowd control reduction, something nearly every god has that will annoy you.
Only use this if the enemy team has no crowd control. The 10% penetration is nice.
Some people may beg to differ on buying Rod of Tahuti considering how costly it is, but considering it gives him the mana regen he needs early game, its a good investment. Its sales over time as well with its passive. My basic attacks typically go from 46 to 94 once I get this item, allowing the game to be a breeze once its obtained.
Bancrofts Talon is a wonderful item to put on Hades. It increases raw power, gives life steal, and most importantly, it increases attack power the lower your health is, meaning the lower your health is, the more health you will get back from Devour Souls.
Polynomicon Is also a great item alongside Bancrofts Talon. It also scales the hp from Devour Souls just like Bancrofts Talon, but it's passive is a lifesaver. every three seconds you gain increased attack power to your next basic attack after using an ability, which can be used to burst a enemy after any of Hades' abilities.(Useful note: it can also be used to speed up destroying towers/pheonixs, which makes it go by REALLY fast.)
This is pretty self-explanatory. Gives great physical protection while providing cooldown reduction to use abilities more often. your going to need cooldowns late game so focus on them.
Same with Breastplate of Valor, just gives Magical protection as well.
Magical protection and gives a shield when health is low. no cooldown, but does give crowd control reduction.
Decent item on Hades. Great amount of magical protection, gives cooldown, and lowers cooldowns by 2 seconds when taking magical damage every 30 seconds. mana regen is a nice bonus too. If you're running Mid on conquest against a Scylla or Posiden then this would be a nice early item in place of Rod of Tahuti.
Only recommended for a all magical enemy team. increases the damage they receive and protects you from magical damage.
Only if characters that rely on basic attacks like hunters or warrior are on the other team.
Only buy this if you're ahead early game.
Want to murder everybody? thisis the item for you. just buy this with Mantle of Discord and you're good.
Cooldown reduction, damage, and mana regen. Straight forward.
Loads of magical power, Penetration, and a passive that can let you potentially solo the enemy team. Costs a arm and a leg so get this last.
Nice little boost to mana and health early game. Can also help your jungler when the come walking by your lane.
Lets you reach your lane quick if you needed to head back to base. will more likely than not become useless late game though.
Obvious reasons
Can get you out of a tight spot by waiting for Death From Below to cooldown and such, but nothing more.
Primarily you'd want to charge into the enemy team and hold them in place while your teammate like Hou Yi does their AoE ultimates or Ra's Beam of Death. you need to be careful since you'll be left vulnerable in the middle of it all. Here are some partners you can pair up with.
Meteors of death are fun
AoE everywhere
Heals you while damaging the enemy. Whats not to love?
Pulls them into your ultimate easy.
Ensures they cant leap out of your ultimate with his
Boulder takes no prisoners
Already said
Stun and ultimate will murder all
Everyone dies
Leaps into ultimate, ensures death

Ult + AoE Bomb + Ult = Death
Ult + Ult = Death
Same as Vulcan
After you get Polynomicon then getting jungle buffs shouldn't take you more than 2 seconds. Use Death From Below, follow with Devour Souls, And finish it with a basic if you need to.
If you're low on health then go to a camp, use Shroud of Darkness then Devour Souls. That should give you enough to engage in a fight.
Will add gameplay once I get the chance.
