Introduction

Hello everyone, my name is JustTheDutchGirl and this is my first guide! I hope it will be helpfull to some of you, but feel free to leave feedback. It will help me out a lot. Besides, if you have any suggestions regarding the guide itself, any tips or changes I should make, feel free to notify me!

Now, have fun reading and using my Chang'e guide! Chang'e is an incrediably fun goddess to play, with tons of lane-sustain and movementspeed, making it possible to dance around in your lane for the whole game!

Here, with great effort, but lots of fun, I present you my Chang'e guide!

Pros / Cons

Ofcourse, despite the fact Chang'e is quite a great goddess, she isn't perfect.

Pros:

  • Very mobile
  • Very low CD
  • High sustain
  • Perfect balance between mage and support
  • Able to stay in lanes for ages
  • Great early-game
  • Ranged auto-attacks

Cons:
  • Quite difficult to learn
  • Mid-ranged abilities
  • Due to low CD, out of mana really fast
  • Low burst
  • If you don't time your Moonlit Waltz correctly, you're dead
  • Passive useless in several maps
  • Needs teammate

Items

Now, some of you may question the items I've thrown in here, so allow me to explain every item:

First, you start with Magic Shoes, Meditation and 2 Health potions and 2 Mana potions. If you feel like you'll need it, you can replace the two Health potions with two wards. I can already hear you guys ask: "Why? Why Meditate? Why replace the Health potions?" For starters, one of the main reasons Chang'e has such great sustain, is because of her Moonflower Dance. Because of this, you don't need to buy Health potions, but Chang'e doesn't have a great mana-pool. I have solved this with Mana potions and Meditate. If you combine this with your Jade Rabbit, you can easily remain in your lane until level 10, without holding back your dances.

Next, you'll want to get your Shoes of Focus as soon as possible. The Cooldown Reduction is well worth it, and they allow you to dance around even more.

After Shoes of Focus, rush your Book of Toth. Get your stacks. They're worth it. You'll have much more juice for your dances.

Now, depending on the team you're against and the status quo of the match you're in, you'll want to buy either Chronos' Pendant or Breastplate of Valor. Both items have the final amount of CR you'll need, but Chronos' Pendant seems a little more offensive. But, because of your Book of Toth, the mana you gain from the Breastplate of Valor will partially be converted into Magic Power, making this item more offensive than it may seem. Choose wisely.

From this point on, you should be one-shotting creeps with your Crescent Moon Dance.

Next up, you get your Rod of Tahuti, for tons of extra damage.

After, you'll want to get the Rod of Asclepius. The extra healing is great with your Moonflower Dance, and the extra health and movement speed is welcome. The MP is also quite usefull. It's almost like it's made for Chang'e. If you're up against a tanky god, you might want to consider building Obsidian Shard (or something else with Magic Penetration) instead, but I personally would stick with the Rod.

Last, but not least, The Gem of Isolation. Slow your enemies while you dance around them, combined with extra health, mana and MP. Great item.
If the enemy team's CC is crushing you down, you might want to consider building a Magi's Blessing instead of the Gem of Isolation.

Skills

Passive: Jade Rabbit
From anywhere on the map, you can access the shop and send your bunny to buy an item for you.(NOTE: one item doesn't equal one upgrade.) This is incrediably useful, and extremely underrated. You can stay in your lane, defending/pushing the tower while your bunny gets your ward, potion of Rod of Tahuti. This is less usefull in Arena and Assault, sadly enough... But then there is her second passive!

25% extra movementspeed during her dances.
BAM. This is what makes her dances so good. Keep this in mind while reading the rest.

Crescent Moon Dance
Your main damaging spell, with an incrediably wide range, but not too far. The damage is very nice, but not very great compared to other mages, but the low CD and extra movementspeed makes it all better.

Moonlit Waltz
Your evade. You can escape EVERY kind of CC and prevent getting hit by ANYTHING with this ability, combined with movementspeed, which makes it even better than Purification Beads. The CD is a bit painful early game (20 seconds!), but by the time you'll start needing it, it's been halved. Atleast.

Moonflower Dance
Your heal, and second damaging spell. Also heals allies, and the range is quite a big circle around you. Sadly enough, even though the heal and the damage are good, the numbers aren't quite as high as other damagers and healers, but just like all your other abilities, the low CD makes it all up for you.

Ultimate: Waxing Moon
A stun with very high damage. The one second stun doesn't seem very impressive, but if you manage to hit three gods in a teamfight, your team will be very thankful, as they auto-attack the stunned gods to death. The beam is quite wide, and the range is nicely balanced; if you manage to hit a god at the tip of your range, you can easily catch up on him and finish him off. Quite nice, amirite?

Summary

Overall, Chang'e is very much fun to play, though it takes quite some practise. So, hereby, my last piece of advice: Practise. Find your way with her. Dance around a lot. Once you get used to her, she's incredible.

Make use of her pros, negate her cons.

Have fun, and once again, don't hestitate to comment. I will be glad to have some feedback.
