Introduction

Hello, my game name is MrSharpshooter and i love playing smite assault.
I just created an account to bring you 1 of my favorite god build for one of my favourite god.

Im playing smite for more than 9 months now and still loving it.

Its important to note that this build is solely for assault/joust/domination game type.
But i will mainly explain the situations for the assault type of game.

Alright, here we go..

P.S. my english may be not as good as you might expect in here.. so forgive me in forward.

Pros / Cons

Pros :

1. High Damage
2. Awesome combos

3. Great pusher

Cons :

1. Squishy
2. No dash, no jump
3. Sometimes it feels like some characters are unkillable for you

Why build this way?

ITEMS

There have been alot of changes lately, especially when it comes around itemization.

* I used to go for chronos pendant, but the new shoes of focus are way better and the 15% cdr is enough.

* Gem of isolation is imo one of the core magical items almost every magical god should pick.
There are a view gods who will not benefit as much as others from the gem, but for anubis it is a must pick! Players may say that you need it for your 3, but i think you need it for all your skills. Look at plague of locusts, the enemy wants to get out of it asap, so the slow is really benefiting your, also your ult needs slowed or stunned enemies.
And because mummify is the skill we will upgrade as last, you need the slow for sure.

* Polynomicon, guys.. i wish i had some evidence for you, why this item is awesome and one of my favorite items out there. The passive on this item is insane..
When i pick this item, there are often kills in it where my basic attack dealt the last hit.. and not just some lousy kill steal or some easy picks.. i mean.. this passive is hurting alot.. ask freya!
Everything is good on it, and its the best on Ao Kuang.. cause he also benefits from the mana into dmg.. But thats another god. Take it!

* Focused Void Stone, Penetration, good amount of magical power and some protection.. Its decent.. its needed, because of the penetration..

I hear you guys saying, why dont you pick spear? Its that, spear is already so good, that if you have an allied mage.. he probably pick up spear and thats what happened alot when i play.. So thats the argumentation why i choose focused void stone.. because the stats it provides are needed and usefull, tho its not the best item out of this build.

* Rod of Tahuti, can boost your magical power from 3xx to 5xx.. So, it would be wise to just pick it.. NOT TOO EARLY! Its very expensive and ive seen alot of people struggling with it, because they thought they would own the game, but instead.. they need 10 or more minutes to finish it.. 3-4rd item imo.. In some cases you can pick it up at 2.. only if you are fed big time.. pick it!

* Bancrofts Talon, you are squishy, and you will die for sure if they get you.. so why not end this itemization with some more dps and more life steal.. because you can!

Dont waste gold on some defensive items.. thats not what anubis is about..

SKILLS

In Assault its important that you can clear out the minion wave asap.. so thats why i choose to upgrade grasping hands as fast as possible.

Secondly ofcourse the locusts, locusts deal more dmg than the grasping hands, but you have to be close and in close distance you can die fairly easily. But if you get your 2-3-1 combo out.. the locusts should be the finishing touch.

Your ult is your high burst skill, so just go for the regular upgrades when available.

At last upgrade your mummify.. imo very usefull skill, but its all about the dmg.. and mummify doesnt have that.. Besides that, you rely on your gem of isolation. So thats why its in the last place.

How to use this build?

Im glad that you are asking..

1* Minions

In Mid range against minions
As said before, grasping hands is your main skill in assault.
The best way to clear out the minion wave is to shoot 3x a basic attack against the forward minions. That will help you that they will group up more. Concluding that when you lay down your grasping hand skill, you will use his full potential and hitting all the minions.

Minions closing into tower range

If its allowed ( depending on the enemy ), use your locust to kill the minions before they reach the tower range.. You dont wanna lose gold.. But ofcourse, try to rely on your grasping hand and your allies.

2* Enemy Gods

In Mid range

Its always nice when you can hit minions & gods with your grasping hand.. Its also smart to just randomly shoot your mummify into the minions when an enemy is lurking in it.. If hit the enemy with mummify and you continue with your grasping hands.. They will for sure learn from it and next time.. they will be more passive.. and thats good for your team.. Its obvious that you wanna aim on the route the enemy god is most likely to take.
For instance, if the enemy is packed into the wall, you would do great if you aim your grasping hand behind him and a bit away from the wall.. Because that is what you should do as a god who is trying to flee.. Reverse countering

In Close range
Locusts will be your best friend.. so much dmg output, no knock-up and a great AoE.
Important! when you hit your mummify and you got already polynomicon.. just go for 1 basic attack.. you will get the max potential out of it.. besides.. you still have 3 skills left to use.
Ofcourse, when you just want to slaughter them all in a big group.. just press 4 and destroy..

In Long range
Not your best range.. only grasping hands will do the job and maybe a few skillshots with your basic attacks.. but thats about it.. or not?

We almost forgot about our 45 seconds blink.
This is why i won several assault and joust games. Ofcourse, a decent player who will often press TAB to see what all the gods are using, are more aware of the danger of long range. Also here, i would love to share some evidence, but to bad i got no video material for you.
Nonetheless i can describe, what you can achieve with this item.

First of all, important to note that the first skill you use after blink is ofcourse your mummify. Most of the players wouldnt expect an anubis to get in like that.. but because you have so high dps.. you can do it!

Second, never use blink, when you got no backup or you are facing a full health tank..
The blink is more for the chickens in the back, who just tried to attack but lost alot of health and now trying to get exp and gold by staying in the back "safe".

Well, there you go.. you can blink in, use your ult for the quick kill.. walk back.. lay down grasping hands under your.. turn around.. use your 2 for the stun and maybe finish them off with your locusts.. Boom.. its possible to get 1-2 kills with your blink-(stun)-ult and by retreating you will finish off the rest or get out safely.. its doable, trust me!

Thanks for reading and feedback

I will be honest, this is not a beauty build in its layout.. Its my first build and i have no clue how to get all those nice skills and classes icons in it.. ( maybe im too lazy to find out )
I have seen alot of great, usefull and good looking builds on this forum.
I'm sure, mine is just a ugly, wall of text one, but in this case.. its all about the information.

All feedback is welcome, as long as its constructive and usefull.

Thanks for reading and your feedback!
