Despite the total number of SMITE matches I've played over the past couple of years (approaching 2,000, and 521 hours according to SmiteGuru), I'm a Conquest newbie.

I've written guides, you say? Even one for Conquest? That's called a talent for gathering info, combined with the willingness to spend lots of time writing / honing / correcting / BBcoding. My actual skill in the game? That's another story. Actually, that's THIS story.

Depending on how often I attempt Conquest matches, and as I feel or see any progress in my level of play, I'll share my experiences in this type of format.

So, I'm excited for the Bloodforge rework in the pipeline, as it's becoming a crazy luxury item for kill-happy people who've already stacked their Hide of the Urchin. On otherwise squishy solo laners like Bakasura (who's currently my favorite solo laner, barely ahead of Bellona and Tyr) a much more viable and dangerous teamfight presence.

So, just in case the item reworks haven't been seen on the site, here's what it looks like now:

Bloodforge

Cost: 2850
+75 Physical Power
+15% Physical Lifesteal
PASSIVE: Killing an enemy god forges a shield from their blood with health equal to 200 + 10 per Player Level for 20s. While the Blood Shield is active you gain +20% movement speed.

Now, here's the best part of this: The Assassin, specifically the basic-attack based assassin, is now a viable solo lane choice. While they were comfort picks for many players in solo lanes and counter-picks as well, the changes to Bloodforge mean that solo lane picks like Bakasura or Kali (to a lesse…

If you've read my guides before, but haven't revisited in a while, just know that my Medusa and Freya Arena guides have been converted into guides for all modes (pretty much).

Both have ADC versions with full writeups, and Freya also has a Jungler version. Arena builds have also been revised.

With solid, existing guides by other people for Odin, Loki and Ravana, I do not have any current plans to convert those.

As for good ol' Bacchus, he doesn't appear to have any other current guides, but he's not really the most common pick in Conquest, so I'm hesitant to put forth the effort to convert that one.

So anyway, just a heads up on my current guide-making status. I don't have any plans on new ones, as it's a lot of work just maintaining the ones I have, but I have no problems reading and providing feedback on others' guides…

So update-ish on my current status. I reinstalled Smite recently, as I've had more time to play in recent days. Idk how long this will last, or if I can manage my time better with it but for now I guess I'm playing with some limited regularity. In this time 2 things have happened.

1) I've started to further establish my stream (twitch/theZilb). During these streams I've been trying to either fill the time with curse discussions with friends I play with, or with commentary about the games I'm in. Generally my solo commentary is focused on why I'm doing what I'm doing, the choices I'm making or just whatever comes to mind. I'm hoping that maybe it'll give some insight into my head as I play Smite and might help whoever so decides to watch it, or at least give some context. (I also put a smitefire logo in my overlay so show my support to this community <3 ). So, now the summer is really getting closer and I thought that at this point, I could finally rest. I've been studying like crazy and I've been super stressed all the time. I had an exam like every week, I wrote reports and essays all the time and I've been sending applications to find a place to do my intership. Well, I think I should be very happy that I passed all the tests and I'll get my credits from all the courses.

But... I just realized what the summer is going to bring for me. I did get an intership, which requires a lot of knowledge from me and it's going to be a real challenge cuz I'll be dealing with business sharks... alone... Along with this intership I also have 3 different summer courses to do. And the work doesn't end here, cuz I need to start working with my thesis. For me, this is a lot work to do and I really don't know if I have any personal life going on along with all this.


I'll be updating both of my guides within the next 2 weeks.
