Achilles Build

full build sup

Notes i really like getting the pestilence as early as i possibly can, if you need more phis early i rush breastplate or get a midgard if i really need one. you can pick up a glad shield if you really want one but i think breastplate or midgard do alot more against adcs. sov is always an option too the hp is nice.

first guide i hope it helps somewhat

I've put close to 1200 hours into Achilles over the last couple months, i currently play him in diamond joust and plat conquest. he is my main and favorite god so i wanted to share how i play him and some of the builds I've been having success with. i hope it proves helpful. the guide is mainly for conquest but these should totally work in joust or slash too, Achilles cannot die.

Support build: Remove Pestilence, if you want a dedicated magic def item you would get Oni's instead, plus you already have Horrific Emblem. Also you're not really taking advantage of Achilles passive in this build late.

Suggested Support build for Achilles: War Banner > Prophetic > Void Shield > Oni's > (Glorious) Pridwen > Runebreaking Hammer

Instead of Sunder get Blink.

Axe Solo Suggested build: Sundering Axe > Jotunn's Vigor > Glad Shield > Oni's > Void Shield > Archdruid/Binding/Fill

Bluestone Solo Suggested build: Corrupted/Brooch > Glad Shield > Prophetic > Genji's > Void Shield > Archdruid/Binding/Fill

Building Heartseeker with no power items except starter is not worth it. Just go Brawlers if you want a raw damage item.

Flameforged isn't really worth it on Achilles, your only CC is a 1 second stun. It's better on gods like Shiva.

(before you read, i do like most of your notes and changes i only really disagree with the sup notes) i get pest 100% for the anti heal and less for the magic defense (horrific is not reliable antiheal) onis is a good sub if your team already has anti it def makes you tankier. void shield is also a very good pick up. i dont see pridwin as a support item. the explosion is nice and can be a big help in team fights specially to get other people closer to exes 25-25 for prots just dosent feel good to ME.
if im playing him in sup i absolutely need 40% cdr, you can get it with tiki but i like it in the build. runebreaking is solid specially with the health and passive its a support ish item i just prefer the full defense.

the rest of this is just random thoughts.

the reason i get hammer instead of jotuns is partly because i get my cooldown elsewhere with breastplate and pridwin, jotuns vigor healing is really nice in the laning phase but falls off hard late game (NOT THAT THIS ITEM IS EVER BAD) where hammer is good all game. the real value i feel comes from hitting both of my 3s on them while they're stunned if your fast you can pull it off and it makes his poke way more scary it also procs with your stone of binding every time since you only have 1 cc ability. its also good in team fights.

ps. you're right about heartseeker, peep the blue stone build again, someone else told me something similar the other day, my eyes have been opened to soul eater Achilles. i was going heartseeker partly for the mana sustain but that was just dumb so im sorry to anyone who built that, i also think i had proph first which was really really bad

If you're really insistent on Anti-Heal on Achilles Support even though you have horrific, just get Brawlers. You have your tank stance late and not utilising it is a massive waste.

@barquatious ~ Much appreciated with the depth of your response &context. I was wondering about if there was a few core skill-up rotations coming into your guide. However, your reasoning and breakdown of each of his non-ults is fantastic! I can pull all I need to know from the summary you gave alongside the comment @Branmuffin17 started on. Cheers mates!

Pleeease add in your thoughts on ability scaling. But I am fairly sure what would be the most efficient for conquest. But... Since you have spent over 1000 hours on Achilles. . . perhaps you would know best.

@branmuffin17 kinda summed it up, ive actually been leveling his 3 lately even though i have it to level your 1 on the build. my reason for that was simple you get 80% of your physical power plus a fat proc from flame forged its also great self peel. your 3 is actually the base damage PLUS 45% phys power if you can get both hits on the god and the wave it out clears your 1 by a land slide. but it feels really bad having your 1 on a low cd early. his 2 scales well once its fully upgraded and its a fantastic ability however youre only gonna get the most out of the 20% protections once you're properly tanky the 6-10% power is nice but its nothing that's gonna make a crazy difference at any point in the game i feel. half the time im just popping my 2 to sustain longer in fights just to be able to survive long enough for my team to bring down the enemys into execute range. the 1 damage item is just there to help speed that process up. sorry if this dosent answer whatever your question was lol. basically both his 1 and 3 scale great you just have to comit to leveling 1 at a time. go off what you need for example if im playing a bellona ill level my 1 to get max value out of interrupting her 2. flip side say its an erlang im going with my 3 to able to poke him and dodge the roots more consistently. hope this helps

If you're looking for specific feedback on ability scaling, you might be more specific on what you're asking.

Achilles' abilities have very good scaling for a warrior. Many of the other warriors' scaling (and guards) is going to be lower...usually 60s or below. Achilles has 80% in his 1 and 90% in his 2 (if counting both hits), so he's definitely one of the gods that can benefit more from building at least 1 or 2 damage items in an otherwise tanky build.

Consider also his power increase from his 2 is a % increase, so it's nice that way if you want to build more power.
