A mage with good waveclear should go to the middle lane.
An assassin or bruiser should be in the jungle.
A mage (preferably a healer type) or bruiser with good waveclear should be in the solo lane (the solo lane is the short lane, aka the one with the towers closest together).
A tank (aka Guardian) and an adc (aka Hunter) should go in the duo lane together (the duo lane is the long lane, aka the one with the towers furthest apart.
This list is what's viable and in which role, or roles.
Hunters (Duo): AMC, Apollo, Neith, Ullr, and Rama. Anhur technically counts but accomplishing his pillar-stun technique, frankly, is expecting too much skill from a player of your skill level. And he's only viable if you master that combo.
Hunters (Solo): Apollo, Neith.
Mages (Mid/Solo): Agni, Ao Kuang, Aphrodite, He Bo, Hades, Hel, Isis, Janus, Poseidon, Ra, Scylla, Vulcan, and Zhong Kui are all perfectly acceptable in mid and solo lanes.
Mages (Solo only): Chang'e, Chronos, and Nu Wa have a niche on the solo lane. Their only niche, sadly.
Mages (Jung only): Freya.
Assassins (Solo/Jung): Bastet, Hun Batz, Loki, and Thanatos.
Tyr is solid jungle, even after his removal of the guard stance knockback. Hercules is also solid, but only if you're really good.
Assassins in the solo, I'd heavily argue Nemesis also deserves a spot.
Warriors, I'd argue, Odin deserves a spot. Both solo and duo.
You should also emphasize which mages that can mid lane, are also very solid picks in solo. You grouped them together too strongly - Chang'e and Ra dominate solo lane exceptionally.
Also surprised you didn't list Anubis as a solid pubstomper at his skill/player level.
As a whole, despite listing all this, everything else he said is on point and acceptable.
Firraria, the long lane is the solo lane and the short lane is the duo lane...
Just to clarify; duo lane is near the Gold Fury, solo lane is near the Fire Giant.
What? Whenever I play, the solo goes to the short lane and the duo goes to the long lane.
In the image below, the short lane (the one with the towers closest together) is on the fire giant side, so as you said, it's the solo lane. The long lane (the one with the towers furthest apart) is nearest to the gold fury, so again as you said, it's the duo lane.
well a jungle actually doesn't have a clear path. because of the randomness of where you need to help/take over/gank.
But the start is mostly depending on solo lane. red/mid or speed (don't remember that right)and then blue for solo and then 1-2 minion waves in the solo lane. But I'm not a jungler expert
