The difficulties of reviewing guides

Your guide won't get downvotes if the one you are downvoting is open to constructive criticism.

- Do not be rude in your comment, it will lead to a revenge downvote.
- State that you are open to change your vote when you see improvements.
- Point everything you see is wrong with the guide (IE; Items, Skill Order, etc.)
- If the guide has NO coding, point it out. Refer them to this. Even though its from MOBAFire, the coding is essentially the same.

Anyways, yes. On topic: Do not feel worried with down voting. If your guide is better, it will naturally end up on top (not 100% true, but true enough). I really think down votes are only acceptable when the guide lacks content or if it would not benefit the user.

However, I don't encourage down voting at such an early stage of this site simply because it lessons the reputation of the site. We don't have a lot of voters right now, not at the same velocity as other sites. This being said, one or two down votes can really harm the percentages of guides. If we have a bunch of 50-70% guides and no especially esteemed guides, well are site just won't look creditable. (Although I really feel that most guides on this side need a lot more work, including mine. Though I haven't looked in a while.)

Here's how I handle my same-guide downies on MobaFire =3. I'll admit I was a little grumpy and rude, but I most definitely did not return the favor. I may stop by for some CnC, but that's about the worst I'll do.

I know it's a wrong method of fixing this but a fix is a fix and this method shouldn't have to be taken in the first place.

Possibly make a second account?

On the Positive Side:

• You wont have this problem as the second account wont have any guides associated with it.
• It's the early stage of the website so a change over would be better now that later (copying over your reviews and re-posting them on your new account).

On the Negative Side:

• Silly Fix and this problem shouldn't happen!
• You'd probably have to choose a completely new name and not associate yourself with your guide account, as really annoyed people would simply find your guide account and QQ on that.
• Would have to spend a bit of time copying over your guides and re-posting them.
• Would have to get your name out and about again.

You do have quite a predicament here and does mean you cant be true to yourself and your reviews. Only reasonable fix I can think of to help you though matey unfortunately :(

Guides will be trolled voted anyway and once the community picks up and if you are not a douchebag and make a quality guide it will rise to the top. Take my AK guide for example. It has been up to 79% and dropped back to 50 something %. Sitting at just over 60% now. I know for a fact that 2 of the votes were troll votes. There is nothing you can do to change this. Just have to ignore it and not care really. Besides its not like the guides will get you anything in life anyhow so dont sweat it!
