Intro

Hello all, silentshell here again with my 5th guide. Artemis can be a lot of fun to play and I hope that anyone checking this out has fun with at least one build from here. Please feel free to leave me your thoughts on any of the builds or my concepts in general.

Edit: I plan on adding crit builds, but at this time I have not had time to test out crit builds since the 7.7 item changes patch.

Skill Leveling

Pretty standard skill leveling order. Level up each one then focus on the 3 and the ult, then the 2 and the ult and finally the 1 and finish out the ult.

Basic Arena Builds

These are just basic builds that I use in arena.

Silverbranch Arena Builds

These are just some Silverbranch Bow builds I have had fun with that i wanted to share

Edit: I have added one crit build to this set. This is a hard one to fit into this category with mroe than 1 crit item and still take advantage of the silverbranch passive. The AS bonus from poisoned, shadowsteel, and wind demon are just too minimal in crit chance and AS gained for three items in either category to really be viable in silverbranch crit builds for artemis, imo. Rage stacked up gives you 45% crit, which in my testing is functional in this concept.

I am still tinkering with normal crit builds. I have some that have been promising but different in game issues have not allowed me to really get much good data out of them.

Silverbranch Crit Builds

After lining up available crit options for this concept, imo, the only viable option to creating a silverbranch build that can utilize the power from over capped AS passive incorporate Rage as the only crit option. The AS crit options do not have enough AS or crit % combined to make it work. The fully stacked Rage at 45% is functional and these builds can work nicely.

Relics

I usually roll with Purification Beads and Aegis Amulet but sometimes i will go with Heavenly Wings and one of the other two.

In Closing

Artemis can be a lot of fun. She can be limited by a lack of a true escape but with planning it can be pretty easy to use her kit to escape tricky situations and a lot of times get kills and flip the fortunes of your team the other way.

She can definitely do tons of damage if you play to her strengths and use proper strategy. So what are you waiting for, get out there and let the arrows fly!!

with o-bow does it just do the damage to the other targets or are the targets hit also affected with the passives of your other items?

That actually doesn't look too shabby. I typically don't like to get expensive items that early, but it definitely would give her more pop waiting for her as to come online. Since i am just starting to run through my crit testing today I will definitely give this a run. It is just a tiny bit over the max threshold(without silverbranch) i keep for myself with her before the steroid.

What are your thoughts on building her AS up. No one else has really answered that part for me an i know anywhere else i have lurked here or been a part of the discussion it seemed like there was a consensus to not build to much on her but from what i calculated 1.39 AS is where you would get no waste out of her steroid and get max AS but I am not going to run a whole match with her at a 1.39. I generally keep her between 1.7-2.0 AS before the steroid. What are your thoughts on how much AS is too much for her?

Its arena, you don't have to worry about gold that much with the passive gold gain. And you skip blessing and start tier 2 boots anyway.

And if the game lasts long enough sell your boots for silverbranch.

I am not sure how much more viable silverbranch builds have become since the patch, but i know that they were underwhelming, to say the laast, prior to the patch....i haven't heard any thoughts on those, so i am assuming they are fine?

The concept behind Silver is the same, which makes it just an awful item IMO. "Let's create an item that gives you something for being inefficient by overcapping something else."

That said, the base stats have always been strong, and the conversion from flat to % pen makes it functional depending on the other items you've chosen.

Silver was a situational item that most people only considered for Apollo before, and while I think it may be a bit better on some other hunters now, you will never see me build it. I'd rather plan a build beforehand and just know that I'm not intentionally overcapping (at least for long...I'm okay with 2+ AS on Medusa, her steroid lasts only 4 attacks).

Hey silent. Glad to see the updates. Just some concerns:
1) Why isn't crit mentioned (or even considered?)
2) I'm really not confident in the seldge or Blackthorn Hammer... like at all
3) I get the appeal of Runeforged Hammer, but this should be a boots replacement at the most, not core items.
From many seasons back, Hydra's Lament would pair really well with Deathbringer. Artemis' passive also had crit in her kit back in the day. But due to the nerfs to deathbringer and the changes to Artemis' passive, Hydra's Lament just isn't something I can see on her.
Usable? I guess
Optimal? IMO, not likely.

Normally I would upvote your guides, Silent, but I have to agree with Boogie on this one. I'll refrain from voting until you address his points. I'd also test out Fail-Not to see if it's worth picking up in a crit build in Arena.

Appreciate your feedback. I understand your alignment on boogies thoughts for my guide, but I do have the guides in question listed as off meta. Anyone wanting to play strictly within the meta or only veer off a little from it should know that they would not want to view these as acceptable builds and that players are not running them. I will edit that section of my guide to provide further explanation for this. I already added an edit note on my introduction that i will be adding crit builds once i am able to test the changes since 7.7. On Fail-Not i was figuring that and/or Malice would be pick ups for ability based builds. I would guess that ability based crit builds would be viable or they would not offer cooldown on crit items.

1. The only reason that there is not crit is that I have not had the time to test out things since the latest changes. I am still running power or pen/as focus when I am playing her. It doesn't help that I have come to really enjoy and have more consistent success with Pen/Power over crit. I do still like crit but I just have to see how i want to run it. Do players normally just go basic attack oriented on crit builds or does anyone build ability focused crit?

2. The whole off meta principle on that is not to have to back as much, not necessarily getting melted if you make 1-2 mistakes and being able to take a few hits when finishing/lasting better through team fights. 5 on 5's it can be a lot harder to evade everyone. Or if you are on 2-3 and get into it you don't always see who's coming from behind you. The Sledge has worked well with this concept for me on my off meta basic attack builds and I like blackthorn for the concept for ability based since you get cooldown or mp5 early.

We have spoken before about the frostbound as well, and though i don't use it as much anymore with the direction i went with the concept I have still found it viable early or late(preferably here) in these off meta builds. I would never try to do anything like this in a regular mode but so far it has worked well for me in arena.

3. On hydra's I like it for the ability builds due to the cooldown and the boost to basics situationally. I also like having some mp5 in ability builds if possible. I am also at a wierd spot with my ability builds where I am not exactly sold on Titan's Bane since it doesn't seem to be as much of a good pick since it was nerfed if I am not mistaken. So I am basically at a point where I feel like Titan's or Soul Eater would probably work in more of my builds rather than having hydra's in there but I am pretty sure that most players don't really like either item on her. I also like hyrda's in some of those basic attack builds(not counting silverbranch) because i don't want to max out her AS so the extra damage on the basic hits i put in there for a bit of extra burst in between her abilities.

I probably keep my as higher than most people would like on her since she gets the 80% as steroid when her 2 is maxed out. If my calculations are right i think a 1.39 as is all you need to reach a 2.5 when the 2 is fully leveled. I feel too handcuffed trying to run as that low just because of her passive. Even though it is wasting some of the passive, I can be comfortable running at a 1.7-1.99 as without running silverbranch. Hydra's has been an item that has been helpful and gave me an item to keep me going past my own non-silverbranch as limit.

I went with a different skill progression, not just for my benefit, but for the benefit of my teams. I don't know how many times early that enemies get away with the bare minimum health. That is also the reason gor the rounded progression on the 2 and 3 as well. It has seemed to work well, but especially with the points from Zero i will fix it.

Atalanta's Bow is probably core on all hunter builds.
The Executioner isn't that great anymore.
I think you should look at the skill order again. I think most people max the 3 first.

Yeah, i use atalanta's most of the time. From the testing i have done it still feels viable to have exe as a 1st pen option even if it wouldn't be built later as the goto engine for a pen build anymore. In the setups where i run it before atalanta's it still seems to function pretty well.

I second this.

Always max 3 first no matter the gamemode. Early game you won't have enough att speed for your 2 to really matter that much, and your 1 doesn't really gain much benefit from being leveled at all.

Ult should be leveled whenever possible for the stun time and large damage boost, but otherwise skill order will always be 3, 2, 1 for Art.

Executioner is still decent if you're in a strange comp like duo ADC or something, so that your team can benefit from your shred, but I agree that Atalanta's is basically everything Exe is but better, and more.

I knew when i took my disclaimer comment on my odd skill leveling off i'd start to get conments. Lol. After reading Zero's points i will fix it.
