i use this usually when playing with a Hel - i am not looking for votes or really for any input but a place for me to reference and for others to try if they feel like it.
no rhyme or reason but purely what i enjoy doing.
MY general PO i do sub the other boots depending on if the other team bought beads or what i am trying to do. If i start getting early feed i start building heavy magic or if it plays out slow i build more defensive/cdr based.
I do a lot of juggling so the PO you see is really a match by match basis.
As for how i play ---- ****ing aggressive... because I play with friends, i like to have fun and don't give a **** other wise.
So use and abuse or do whichever. As for a more tanky build - i just go off the AURA sub menu and take tankier stuff and fill it in with other mitigation related things.
cheers.
****EDIT*****
Someone pointed out i picked Meditation which was a mistake. I have never used that ever on this character and it was meant for blink.
I added some alt items because it was also being pointed out that i could use other stuff which i already do and already knew but i had no intentions of explaining that you could change items up because i figured that was common sense.
I thought i would add a few things - again i am not trying to be prophetic, hit the front page and while i appreciate constructive criticism, it may not entirely change how i play.
I appreciate the feedback thus far.
Also i may "flash it up more" but it is more so a work in progress and to put my base of stuff in one spot.

I like your build. I also posted an Ares arena build and everyone downvoted it. Yet I don't see anyone else making Ares arena guides!
Seriously, Smiters, make an Ares arena build that is "expert approved"--I have yet to see one so I do what works. OP and I have almost the same build.
Don't worry, you're not alone. People don't really like my Ares build. At least it works for me...

It is actually all for Arena.
I am glad to picked up meditation btw because i was thinking of Aokuang while doing this as well. I do use blink in fact i usually only max out the tier 2.
I play dominantly with an aggressive Hel player which is why i dont get Bolster Defenses till later.
I am not playing by the book. I don't build tanky because i don't feel like it.
I do variate with Breastplate of valor but i wasn't trying to explain every single detail. I like the early sustain the Chronos pendant gives as i never run out of mana and i sacrifice the protection as i have heals generally.
What i am building is again personal preference but i use it with specific friends.
I do not play COnquest, i generally play arena or Joust.
I appreciate your feedback and the down vote
With that being said, since you build Rod of Asclepius (which I don't recommend as Ares, but if you do), you can give you Shoes for witch stone. Why? because it gives you 45 protections and 15% speed, the passive aura is great against ADCs and Assassins AND you get additional 30 magical power from your passive since it's an aura item.
meditation is a bad item. It should never be bought outside of Assault, especially not on Ares since he isn't mana hungry at all. blink is much better.
If you are looking for CDR, do the entire humanity and the immortals a favor and get Breastplate of Valor instead of chrono's pendant. Unless you are facing 5 mages, you should always get Breastplate.
The skills are way, way off. You'd wanna start with Searing Flesh cause you are gonna be in the jungle at least until level 2. Then put 2 points to Shackles at level 2 and 3, 1 point into Bolster Defenses at level 4. 1 point into No Escape at level 5.
From there, the priority shifts to:
Shackles > Searing Flesh > Bolster Defenses > No Escape.
I don't get what this build is for. Conquest? Arena? Duo lane? It is basically a build only guide, and even the build itself and the skill sequence is just.. bad.
A downvote from me.
