Starter Vs. Magical Notes If your enemy in solo lane is a magical god, you should use this start. If you want to, you can change Guardian's Blessing for Mage's Blessing, but I've found the first to be more efficient and gives Aphrodite a bigger advantage overall, as it allows her to stay in lane for longer and to not fall behind gold wise.

Starter Vs. Physical Notes If your enemy in solo lane is a physical god, you should use this start. If you want to, you can change Guardian's Blessing for Mage's Blessing, but I've found the first to be more efficient and gives Aphrodite a bigger advantage overall, as it allows her to stay in lane for longer and not to fall behind gold wise

Starter if you're not sure Notes If you're not sure about who'll be laning with, you should start with these. If you want to, you can change Guardian's Blessing for Mage's Blessing, but I've found the first to be more efficient and gives Aphrodite a bigger advantage overall, as it allows her to stay in lane for longer and not to fall behind gold wise

Build Item Guardian's Blessing Guardian's Blessing
Build Item Shoes Shoes
Build Item Chalice of Healing Chalice of Healing

Core Notes For Core Items, you should build first whichever shoes you prefer (Personally I do prefer Shoes of Focus as it gives you more mana and CDR), then you should finish your Defensive item (Makes no sense to build Breastplate of Valor first if you're laning against a magical god). If you end up getting fed really ahead, you CAN skip the other protection item and go straight for some damage, but I do advise against it.

Build Item Shoes of Focus Shoes of Focus
Build Item Void Stone Void Stone
Build Item Breastplate of Valor Breastplate of Valor

Possible Offensive Items Notes The first three items will be the most common. Book of the Dead is listed both here and in the Defensive Items list cuz it's a hybrid item. Rod of Asclepius is not only good for it's passive but it also gives Aphrodite more Movement Speed, which sometimes is what keeps you alive. Gem of Isolation is almost a must-have on her, since it'll leave enemies slowed for 5s (if you hit them with Love Birds, basically giving you an aditional form of CC. Rod of Tahuti is a nice luxury power item if you don't want to get Book of the Dead, and it gives a nice bump to your damage and healing.

Build Item Rod of Asclepius Rod of Asclepius
Build Item Gem of Isolation Gem of Isolation
Build Item Book of the Dead Book of the Dead
Build Item Chronos' Pendant Chronos' Pendant
Build Item Ethereal Staff Ethereal Staff
Build Item Spear of the Magus Spear of the Magus
Build Item Rod of Tahuti Rod of Tahuti

Possible Defensive Items Notes Book of the Dead is listed both here and in the Defensive Items list cuz it's a hybrid item. I believe teaming Lotus Crown with Rod of Asclepius is a bit overkill, but if you want to try it, I'd say you replace Breastplate of Valor, but, then again, I do advise againts it. Pestilence gives you an edge against healers (If you're facing another Aphrodite or maybe a Ra). I do believe you should only get this item if their team has more than 1 healer. Also, check with your Support if he'll pick up Pestilence, so you don't have to. Spectral Armor is more targeted to teams with multiple crit-users (maybe double Crit AA Hunters or Crit Assassin + Crit Hunter), and it's extremely situational. Winged Blade should also be a must-have on Aphrodite, but, alas, we can't have 7 item builds. If you feel like the slows are the reason you're dying/not being efficient, use this item in the place of Book of the Dead

Build Item Book of the Dead Book of the Dead
Build Item Lotus Crown Lotus Crown
Build Item Pestilence Pestilence
Build Item Spectral Armor Spectral Armor
Build Item Winged Blade Winged Blade
Build Item Witchblade Witchblade
Build Item Genji's Guard Genji's Guard
Build Item Mantle of Discord Mantle of Discord
Build Item Midgardian Mail Midgardian Mail
Build Item Bulwark of Hope Bulwark of Hope
Build Item Celestial Legion Helm Celestial Legion Helm

Relics Notes Check the Threat Tab to be if you should get Heavenly Wings or Teleport Glyph as your first relic. Purification Beads is extremely situational and should only be gotten if their team has a lot of stuns/roots/taunts, and, if so, it'll occupy the spot of Teleport Glyph, as Heavenly Wings is a must-have relic on Aphrodite.

Build Item Teleport Glyph Teleport Glyph
Build Item Heavenly Wings Heavenly Wings
Build Item Purification Beads Purification Beads

Go To Notes Pretty solid overall build. With the protections from both defensive items and her passive Centere of Attention, the extra pen from spearb of the magus really makes a difference in the damage department. The passive and extra movement speed from Rod of Asclepius helps you heal more (up to ~103 per tick, effectively healing your teammate in a fight for 618 health) and for you to move faster, which is needed because you lack a movement ability (if you're not linked to anyone with Kiss, which can happen if you're disengaging).

Super Late Game (40+ minutes), you'll want to sell your Shoes of Focus for Elixir of Speed and look into replacing it with another item, may it be Winged Blade (which is what I recommend), possibly Rod of Tahuti or something in between.

BEWARE: Don't sell your boots and buy Elixir of Speed before you can actually replace Shoes of Focus with another item (As in buying the elixir + selling boots and buying another item at the same time).

Build Item Shoes of Focus Shoes of Focus
Build Item Void Stone Void Stone
Build Item Breastplate of Valor Breastplate of Valor
Build Item Spear of the Magus Spear of the Magus
Build Item Rod of Asclepius Rod of Asclepius

Array ( [minor] => Array ( [0] => Array ( [god] => Array ( [god_id] => 94 [display_name] => Achilles [url] => achilles ) [scoreVal] => 4 [notes] => This matchup is extremely easy if you can hit him with your [[Love Birds]]. He won't get his [[Radiant Glory]] 'till level 4 or later, which means that it's your job to get him under tower before he can reach that. Since he needs to be next to the wave to clear with either of his abilities, aim your [[Love Birds]] at him and even get a [[Back Off!]] if possible. Your [[Undying Love]] easily counters his [[Fatal Strike]]. This is a matchup you can get [[Teleport Glyph]] and [[Heavenly Wings]] ) [1] => Array ( [god] => Array ( [god_id] => 72 [display_name] => Amaterasu [url] => amaterasu ) [scoreVal] => 4 [notes] => [[Amaterasu]]'s early game is as bad, if not worse, than yours, but she has a better middle game, and your late game is equivalent. She cannot use her [[Glorious Charge]] to counter your clear, and you can win most trades againts her. Trade [[Love Birds]] for [[Heavenly Reflection]], [[Kiss]] for [[Glorious Charge]] and [[Undying Love]] for [[Dazzling Offensive]] This is a matchup you can get [[Teleport Glyph]] and [[Heavenly Wings]] ) [2] => Array ( [god] => Array ( [god_id] => 60 [display_name] => Ao Kuang [url] => ao-kuang ) [scoreVal] => 4 [notes] => This matchup is fun. [[Ao Kuang]] will try to teleport to you with his [[Water Illusion]] and burst you down, but if you can pop [[Undying Love]] at the right moment, you can fall back to tower and heal back all that damage. [[Ao Kuang]] will transition into a hyper carry if he gets fed, but he won't have the support that you will provide your hyper carry, so hopefully in the late game you'll do more work. This is a matchup you can get [[Teleport Glyph]] and [[Heavenly Wings]]. If you feel like you can't time your ult to counter his, then grab [[Purification Beads]]. ) [3] => Array ( [god] => Array ( [god_id] => 19 [display_name] => Bakasura [url] => bakasura ) [scoreVal] => 4 [notes] => Everyone thinks this matchup is impossible, and I have no idea why. The key is to get [[Heavenly Wings]], a slow immunity on a 140 second cooldown. [[Winged Blade]] is REALLY helpful here. In addition, the punish combo ( [[Kiss]], [[Back Off!]], [[Love Birds]] ) will stop him after he clears the wave when he tries to poke you, probably with [[Butcher Blades]]. Just survive the lane and you'll do fine, but if you and your jungler can get a kill, this lane will be extremely easy. [[Bakasura]] WILL NOT drop a kill to you alone unless he misplays terribly, since [[Eat Minion]] and [[Take Down]] are very good at survivability. This is a matchup you [i]absolutely must[/i] have [[Heavenly Wings]] as your first relic. ) [4] => Array ( [god] => Array ( [god_id] => 7 [display_name] => Bastet [url] => bastet ) [scoreVal] => 4 [notes] => [[Bastet]] is all about that burst, from [[Pounce]] to [[Cat Call]]. [[Undying Love]] plus [[Love Birds]] or [[Back Off!]] will usually counter the cats, [[Love Birds]] can heal back the poke from a [[Declaw]] or [[Razor Whip]], and [[Heavenly Wings]] will stop the two slows [[Bastet]] has. [[Bastet]] doesn't scale as well as you, so you can crush her late game. Be careful around level 5, however, as you won't have a lot of healing, [[Bastet]]'s cats can kill you if you overextend even a bit. This is a match you [i]need[/i] to get [[Heavenly Wings]] when leaving base, and, since you'll be getting that, getting [[Teleport Glyph]] as your second relic isn't that efficient, so getting [[Purification Beads]] is more justifiable. ) [5] => Array ( [god] => Array ( [god_id] => 57 [display_name] => Cabrakan [url] => cabrakan ) [scoreVal] => 4 [notes] => This matchup is simple, if not easy. [[Kiss]] his [[Seismic Crush]], heal up from his [[Refraction Shield]] with [[Love Birds]], avoid [[Tremors]]. When he ults, use [[Undying Love]], then [[Heavenly Wings]] around the walls and get to your tower as soon as possible if need-be. This is a matchup you can get [[Teleport Glyph]] and [[Heavenly Wings]]. ) [6] => Array ( [god] => Array ( [god_id] => 47 [display_name] => Chaac [url] => chaac ) [scoreVal] => 4 [notes] => [[Chaac]] kinda sucks in general. As warriors go, he doesn't bring much to teamfights or laning phase, so you won't see much of him. [[Thunder Strike]] is easy to avoid, [[Heavenly Wings]] and [[Winged Blade]] will stop his [[Rain Dance]] from sticking to you, and [[Storm Call]]'s silence is disruptive, sure, but not much. Don't expect to get kills in this lane, but don't expect to lose either. You will most likely take tower before he does. This is a matchup you can get [[Teleport Glyph]] and [[Heavenly Wings]] ) [7] => Array ( [god] => Array ( [god_id] => 35 [display_name] => Fenrir [url] => fenrir ) [scoreVal] => 4 [notes] => Easy. Get [[Purification Beads]] and you outright win. You can [[Kiss]] his main form of clear and poke: [[Brutalize]], and with that, [[Unchained]] becomes nearly useless. [[Undying Love]] counters [[Ragnarok]]. Plus you have presence late game. [[Fenrir]] loses this lane hard. This is a matchup that needs [[Purification Beads]] and [[Heavenly Wings]] as your relics. ) [8] => Array ( [god] => Array ( [god_id] => 38 [display_name] => Hun Batz [url] => hun-batz ) [scoreVal] => 4 [notes] => All about timing. Counter [[Sacred Monkey]]'s teleport with a [[Back Off!]] before he can land a crit, heal up from [[Overhand Smash]], [[Kiss]] him if he jumps at you with [[Somersault]], and [[Undying Love]] out of [[Fear No Evil]]. You will definitely have more push than him, but both of you bring enormous teamfight presence, so be careful late game. This is a matchup you can get [[Teleport Glyph]] and [[Heavenly Wings]] ) [9] => Array ( [god] => Array ( [god_id] => 53 [display_name] => Osiris [url] => osiris ) [scoreVal] => 4 [notes] => [[Aphrodite]] with [[Winged Blade]] has nothing to fear from [[Osiris]]. If he wants to dive, [[Lord of the Afterlife]] will stop your healing, but [[Kiss]] will give you distance from his [[Judgement Tether]]. [[Osiris]] is bad right now, so don't expect to see him much, but he is a respectable counter to [[Aphrodite]] in the right hands. This is a matchup you can get [[Teleport Glyph]] and [[Heavenly Wings]] ) [10] => Array ( [god] => Array ( [god_id] => 16 [display_name] => Sun Wukong [url] => sun-wukong ) [scoreVal] => 4 [notes] => [[Love Birds]] heals back the poke from [[The Magic Cudgel]]. [[Back Off!]] or [[Kiss]] stops [[72 Transformations]] from hitting you, and [[Undying Love]] stops ganks. [[Sun Wukong]] can be easily killed if he misplays by trying to kill you. [[Teleport]] can really come in handy early. This is a matchup you can get [[Teleport Glyph]] and [[Heavenly Wings]] ) ) [tiny] => Array ( [0] => Array ( [god] => Array ( [god_id] => 6 [display_name] => Anubis [url] => anubis ) [scoreVal] => 5 [notes] => It's almost like they made this god for [[Aphrodite]] to counter. [[Undying Love]] is a combined [[Sanctuary]] [[Purification]] that can be used under cc (think [[Mummify]]), so [[Anubis]] has no effective ult. [[Aphrodite]] can [[Kiss]] him out of his [[Plague of Locusts]]. [[Winged Blade]] can negate some of the slows from [[Grasping Hands]], and [[Love Birds]] will heal up his poke. I've been seeing a lot of [[Anubis]] solo recently, and [[Aphrodite]] destroys that lane. You'll never die unless you're ganked or you totally misplay. This is a matchup you can get [[Teleport Glyph]] and [[Heavenly Wings]]. However, if you feel like you'll need the CC immunity (Maybe the enemy team has a lot of CC), you can get [[Purification Beads]] in the place of [[Teleport Glyph]] ) [1] => Array ( [god] => Array ( [god_id] => 14 [display_name] => Guan Yu [url] => guan-yu ) [scoreVal] => 5 [notes] => Also easy, for similar reasons as to [[Fenrir]]. [[Taolu Assault]] is very vulnerable to a nicely aimed [[Kiss]], and loses all clear until it comes back up. [[Cavalry Charge]] still does some damage, but you can [[Undying Love]] the stun to prevent gankability. Kill [[Guan Yu]] early during teamfights and the enemy team loses a potent frontliner. This is a matchup you can get [[Heavenly Wings]] and [[Teleport Glyph]] ) [2] => Array ( [god] => Array ( [god_id] => 25 [display_name] => Loki [url] => loki ) [scoreVal] => 5 [notes] => Kill him. It's easy, since [[Love Birds]] applies a tick, so even under [[Vanish]] you'll see the damage numbers. [[Assassinate]] can be countered by [[Undying Love]]. If you land a kill on [[Loki]] while he's stacking [[Transcendence]], he'll fall behind and you can win lane with ease. However, once you start rotating, he'll backdoor your towers, so just be careful and don't lose your phoenix. This is a matchup you can get [[Teleport Glyph]] and [[Heavenly Wings]] ) ) [even] => Array ( [0] => Array ( [god] => Array ( [god_id] => 65 [display_name] => Ah Puch [url] => ah-puch ) [scoreVal] => 3 [notes] => This matchup is interesting. [[Winged Blade]] is a big deal in this lane, since it counters both [[Undead Surge]] and [[Empty the Crypts]]. However, if you get hit by [[Fleeting Breath]], you won't be able to use [[Love Birds]] to clear unless you are at 100% health, since the ability will do extra damage and stun you. Dodge the [[Fleeting Breath]] and let [[Ah Puch]] clear before you, and you'll have more influence late game. This is a matchup you can get [[Teleport Glyph]] and [[Heavenly Wings]] ) [1] => Array ( [god] => Array ( [god_id] => 33 [display_name] => Apollo [url] => apollo ) [scoreVal] => 3 [notes] => Apollo, in this case, represent hunters in general. [[Aphrodite]] goes very even against hunters. Right now, hunters are arguably overpowered, so they will scale most better than you, but that's the only reason this is in medium. Let them use their clear ability, whether [[So Beautiful]], [[Spirit Arrow]], etc, then clear the wave with [[Love Birds]] and heal back their poke. [[Kiss]] can punish them if they try to attack you, and [[Undying Love]] is a last resort if you screw up. These matchups will solely depend on the enemy team's CC, relics-wise. In most cases you'll want to go with [[Teleport Glyph]] and [[Heavenly Wings]] ) [2] => Array ( [god] => Array ( [god_id] => 63 [display_name] => Bellona [url] => bellona ) [scoreVal] => 3 [notes] => This is all about trades. Trade [[Undying Love]] for [[Eagle's Rally]], [[Love Birds]] for [[Bludgeon]], [[Kiss]] for [[Scourge]], [[Winged Blade]] for [[Shield Bash]]. [[Bellona]] is much better against characters that use auto attacks, and since [[Love Birds]] will be on a 5s cooldown by 15 minutes, you won't be using auto attacks too much, only really early on, when [[Scourge]] doesn't stop you for more than 1.4 seconds, so [[Scourge]] isn't broken against you. Otherwise, play it safe, rotate when she rotates, and if she dies in a teamfight, take the tier 1 tower as soon as possible. This is a matchup you can get [[Teleport Glyph]] and [[Heavenly Wings]] ) [3] => Array ( [god] => Array ( [god_id] => 39 [display_name] => Chronos [url] => chronos ) [scoreVal] => 3 [notes] => Neither of you are going to die. [[Rewind]] is a second life for him, and your sustain counters his poke. [[Kiss]] [[Chronos]] when he [[Accelerate]]s so that he can't burst you down with auto attacks. This is a matchup you can get [[Teleport Glyph]] and [[Heavenly Wings]] ) [4] => Array ( [god] => Array ( [god_id] => 89 [display_name] => Cu Chulainn [url] => cu-chulainn ) [scoreVal] => 3 [notes] => Until level 5, this is a stalemate. You need to be careful with his kill potential when he gets his ultimate. Also, pay attention to his Rage so you won't get caught in a massive combo made by him. Mid game this matchup gets really frustrating, but you have more presence in the late game. [[Back Off!]] is really good to stop him if he's trying to combo you. This is a matchup you can get [[Teleport Glyph]] and [[Heavenly Wings]] ) [5] => Array ( [god] => Array ( [god_id] => 3 [display_name] => Hades [url] => hades ) [scoreVal] => 3 [notes] => Another stalemate lane. [[Hades]] clears faster than you early game, so you'll be under pressure, just don't give up your tower. When he tries to use [[Pillar of Agony]], use [[Undying Love]] and [[Heavenly Wings]] to get out and heal from [[Love Birds]]. This is a matchup you can get [[Teleport Glyph]] and [[Heavenly Wings]] ) [6] => Array ( [god] => Array ( [god_id] => 10 [display_name] => Hel [url] => hel ) [scoreVal] => 3 [notes] => [[Aphrodite]] has one goal in this lane: outlast [[Hel]]. When she uses 3 abilities to clear/heal the wave and 1 to poke, you'll use 1 to clear and back up. [[Hel]] without a blue buff is awful, so she'll have to back, and you can take her tower easily. With that lane advantage, you'll crush late game. Don't die though; [[Hel]] fed is disgustingly good. Stay safe and focus on objectives. This is a matchup you can get [[Teleport Glyph]] and [[Heavenly Wings]] ) [7] => Array ( [god] => Array ( [god_id] => 28 [display_name] => Hercules [url] => hercules ) [scoreVal] => 3 [notes] => This matchup relies on one thing: dodging [[Earthbreaker]]. [[Excavate]] can be immuned even under the effect of [[Driving Strike]] with [[Undying Love]], [[Mitigate Wounds]] doesn't matter, but if [[Hercules]] [[Earthbreaker]]s you into tower then [[Driving Strikes]] you further into the tower's range, you'll have a tough time getting out. Be careful, and play teamfights the same as [[Guan Yu]]. This is a matchup you can get [[Teleport Glyph]] and [[Heavenly Wings]] ) [8] => Array ( [god] => Array ( [god_id] => 85 [display_name] => Kuzenbo [url] => kuzenbo ) [scoreVal] => 3 [notes] => This matchup is a bit difficult, but what makes you viable againts him is [[Love Birds]]. He'll use his [[NeNe Kappa]] to clear with [[Summo Slam]], while also trying to hit you with both abilities. The best you can do is let him waste [[Nene Kappa]] before moving him, or moving in to clear lane before he does. A well timed [[Back Off!]] or [[Kiss]] with stop his [[Summo Slam]]. Your job is to out sustain him and take his tower as soon as possible. This is a matchup you can get [[Teleport Glyph]] and [[Heavenly Wings]] ) [9] => Array ( [god] => Array ( [god_id] => 11 [display_name] => Odin [url] => odin ) [scoreVal] => 3 [notes] => [[Odin]] owns lane early on, but you don't have to fear that much from him. when activates his shield, hug the wall so that he needs to choose between hitting you or hitting your minions with the jump, then proceed to clear wave normally with [[Love Birds]]. His ultimate, [[Ring of Spears]], will negate your healing, but you have nothing to fear from this during laning phase if you can juke him. Don't screw up and this is an easy matchup. You can get [[Teleport Glyph]] and [[Heavenly Wings]] in this scenario, however, if you think you'll have problems with [[Ring of Spears]], get [[Phantom Veil]] in the place of [[Teleport Glyph]]. ) [10] => Array ( [god] => Array ( [god_id] => 66 [display_name] => Ratatoskr [url] => ratatoskr ) [scoreVal] => 3 [notes] => As the illustrious [url=https://www.smitefire.com/profile/branmuffin17-21585]Branmuffin17[/url] said: "- 2 when he uses Flurry. Ult on his ult. Outlast him with healing. XD" But that's actually kinda the general thing. Make sure you don't let him hit your minions and yourself with [[Dart]], use [[Back Off!]] to stop his [[Flurry]] animation, use your [[Kiss]] if he keeps on pushing againts you and try to poke him with [[Love Birds]] while he's clearing wave. You'll most likely loose early game to him, but you'll stomp on him in mid game. This is a matchup you can get [[Teleport Glyph]] and [[Heavenly Wings]] ) [11] => Array ( [god] => Array ( [god_id] => 41 [display_name] => Tyr [url] => tyr ) [scoreVal] => 3 [notes] => Stalemate. Watch out for his [[Fearless]], either dodge it or stop it with [[Kiss]]. Clear the wave, and bait [[Lawbringer]] dives if you can. This should be a tie. This is a matchup you can get [[Teleport Glyph]] and [[Heavenly Wings]] ) ) [major] => Array ( [0] => Array ( [god] => Array ( [god_id] => 96 [display_name] => Baron Samedi [url] => baron-samedi ) [scoreVal] => 2 [notes] => [[Baron Samedi]] is a nightmare to deal with. Let him waste his kit on the minion wave before moving in to clear yourself. This matchup just gets harder cuz you can't disrupt his abilities with either [[Kis]] or [[Back Off!]] (at least, not effectively). If your jungler ganks and you end up getting ahead, he'll get a bit easier to face. You'll need concentration and pacience in this scenario. Remember to use [[Heavenly Wings]] and [[Undying Love]] to counter his [[Life of the Party]]. You can get [[Teleport Glyph]] and [[Heavenly Wings]] in this matchup. ) [1] => Array ( [god] => Array ( [god_id] => 78 [display_name] => Erlang Shen [url] => erlang-shen ) [scoreVal] => 2 [notes] => [[Erlang Shen]] can destroy you early on, so make sure he doesn't get near you. [[Love Birds]] only after he pokes you or the lane with [[Pin]], and always [[Kiss]] him out of [[72 Transformations ES]]. You won't die if you don't misplay. This is a matchup you can get [[Teleport Glyph]] and [[Heavenly Wings]] ) [2] => Array ( [god] => Array ( [god_id] => 98 [display_name] => Hera [url] => hera ) [scoreVal] => 2 [notes] => [[Hera]]'s poke is what makes her dangerous. Her [[Royal Assault]], [[Polymorph]] and [[Argus, the Defender]] combo will most likely eliminate you if you aren't paying attention. You can [[Kiss]] her out of [[Polymorph]], which gives you an advantage in this lane, but not so much. Let her use her clear so then you can move in and use yours. When she's low, you can aggress on her with your [[Kiss]], [[Love Birds]] and [[Back Off!]] combo, but, other than that, you should be really careful with her. This is a matchup you can get [[Teleport Glyph]] and [[Heavenly Wings]] ) [3] => Array ( [god] => Array ( [god_id] => 99 [display_name] => King Arthur [url] => king-arthur ) [scoreVal] => 2 [notes] => A good [[King Arthur]] player will get [[Gladiotor's Shield]] as fast as possible on him, making him a scary opponent. Poke him whenever it's possible with [[Love Birds]], punish him with [[Back off!]] if he gets too aggressive and [[Kiss]] him and put as much space as possible between you and him, even using [[Heavenly Wings]] if necessary. This is a matchup you can loose, especially if the enemy jungler puts pressure on you. You can get [[Teleport Glyph]] and [[Heavenly Wings]] in this scenario. ) [4] => Array ( [god] => Array ( [god_id] => 67 [display_name] => Ravana [url] => ravana ) [scoreVal] => 2 [notes] => [[Ravana]] will destroy you early game, so make sure he can't get near you early game. Wait until level 5 to get out of of tower range, and use [[Winged Blade]] to counter he's slow from [[Prana Onslaught]]. Heal back he's poke with [[Love Birds]] and make sure you don't die. Fightinh a fed [[Ravana]] isn't easy, or fun. This is a matchup you can get [[Teleport Glyph]] and [[Heavenly Wings]] ) [5] => Array ( [god] => Array ( [god_id] => 9 [display_name] => Sobek [url] => sobek ) [scoreVal] => 2 [notes] => [[Sickening Strike]] counters your healing, [[Tail Whip]] cancels your abilities, [[Charge Prey]] puts you in dangerous positions, and [[Lurking In The Waters]] gives [[Sobek]] sustain. He's a guardian, so you won't be able to poke him out. Good luck winning this lane, it requires constant concentration. This is a matchup you can get [[Teleport Glyph]] and [[Heavenly Wings]] ) [6] => Array ( [god] => Array ( [god_id] => 21 [display_name] => Vamana [url] => vamana ) [scoreVal] => 2 [notes] => [[Vamana]] is harder than most warriors. [[Clear The Path]] could put you in tricky positions, [[Umbrellarang]] slows, and [[Armored Umbrella]] is a big nuke. However, if [[Vamana]] uses [[Colossal Fury]], use [[Undying Love]] to immune the first few auto attacks, then run for tower. Don't poke him with [[Love Birds]], since each tick will increase his ult's duration. This is a matchup you can get [[Teleport Glyph]] and [[Heavenly Wings]] ) ) [extreme] => Array ( [0] => Array ( [god] => Array ( [god_id] => 40 [display_name] => Chang'e [url] => change ) [scoreVal] => 1 [notes] => Goddamn, this lane is hard. As soon as you use [[Love Birds]], she will [[Moonflower Dance]] in, heal the wave back up, and reduce the healing you get by 50%. You can [[Undying Love]] out of [[Waxing Moon]], which, especially in teamfights, is helpful, but the laning phase is extremely difficult. Be careful and don't let her kill you. If you can, an early invade on her blue buff with a jungler like [[Thanatos]], [[Freya]] or [[Bellona]] will give you an advantage. This is a matchup you [i]must[/i] have [[Teleport Glyph]] so you can keep up with her sustain. Your second relic will most likely be [[Heavenly Wings]]. ) [1] => Array ( [god] => Array ( [god_id] => 70 [display_name] => Sol [url] => sol ) [scoreVal] => 1 [notes] => [[Sol]] will have a WAY better early game, will be able to poke you out easily, and can chase you with [[Disapparate]]. Her basic attacks hurt a lot and you won't be able to kill her. Constant ganking from the jungler may help you surviving in this lane. Remember to smartly use [[Undying Love]] and [[Love Birds]]. [[Back Off!]] will be somewhat useless in this matchup. This is a matchup you can get [[Teleport Glyph]] and [[Heavenly Wings]] ) ) ) 1

Aphrodite's abilities are very powerful, one being an instant point blank burst, and the other an AoE high damage tool, which includes a slow and a stun, which helps her with her viability and her ability to be played in multiple roles

CENTER OF ATTENTION
Center of Attention is a truly interesting passive. It increases both of your protections by 4 for each god within 70 units, stacking up to 9 times, making it a very useful to maintain yourself in late teamfights

This ability can not be leveled, and is active at all times.

KISS

#1
Kiss is a stun, which stuns the enemy for 1 second and, if you use it on an ally,it will create a magical link, which synergyzes with her other abilities, and gives a movement speed buff (4/8/12/16/20%). If you stun an enemy while linked with an ally, it will give your teammate a Jealousy buff, increasing damage for 4/8/12/16/20%

This ability should be leveled third, after Back Off! and before Undying Love

Use this ability for the following circumstances:
- Disrupt Enemy Abilities.
- Speed buff
- Link with an ally and heal/Jealous buff them.

BACK OFF!

#2
Back Off! is a point blank AoE massive damage ability that deals 80/140/200/260/320 (+80% of your Magical Power). If you're linked to an ally, an explosion will also occur on them, applying the same amount of damage and also a 25% slow for 2 seconds

This ability should be leveled second, after Love Birds and before Kiss

Use this ability for the following circumstances:
- Disrupt Enemy Abilities.
- Massive Nuke Damage
- Knockback enemies to escape.

LOVE BIRDS

#3
Love Birds is a rectangle AoE damage/heal ability that deals 90/150/210/270/330 (+90% of your Magical Power) total damage and healing you and your ally for 60/102/144/186/228 (+75% of your Magical Power) after the 3 seconds.

This ability should be leveled first

Use this ability for the following circumstances:
- Clear Wave.
- Massively Heal you and your allies
- Zone out enemies in choke points.

UNDYING LOVE

#4
Undying Love is an invulnerability ultimate that makes you CC Immune and Damage Immune for .8 /1.1/1.4/1.7/2 seconds. If you have an active link, they'll also become immune for that duration.

This ability should be leveled last

Use this ability for the following circumstances:
- Negate all forms of incoming damage.
- Save allies
- Turn the tides of a teamfight.

~Items~

The starting build is Guardian's Blessing, a defensive item (either Druid Stone or Breastplate, a Healing Potion, and trhee Multi Potion. Guardian's Blessing will fit aphro perfectly, since it's passive allows you to gain extra gold if you miss creeps, which happens a lot earlier on. The defensive item will built into it's Tier 3 form ( Void Stone or Breastplate of Valor second, as you'll want to finish off your boots before them. The potions are for worst-case scenarios.

As Aphrodite, you don't really have to back at any time. I've stayed in lane until after my second blue buff wears out, then backed and bought the first two items. If you're forced back before you can start Shoes of Focus, just buy either it's Tier 2 ( Magic Shoes) or the Tier 2 of the defensive item ( Ward Stone or Silver Breastplate).

Gold numbers in which you should back are:

However, staying in lane with only a Tier 1 defensive item past 3300 gold will put you at risk to ganks and the enemy solo laner, who, it is to be assumed, has backed multiple times while you're sustaining in lane.

After finishing the core build of Shoes of Focus, Void Stone, and Breastplate of Valor, you'll have to judge your options, from which there are many options for the next three items. If you're fed, Gem of Isolation and Rod of Asclepius are both options, one being more offensive and controlling, and the other pointing towards a more supporting build. Lotus Crown is always a good option on a healer, but pairing both Rod of Asclepius with Lotus Crown if overkill. I recommend Rod of Asclepius over Lotus Crown because the item also increases your own movement speed, which is something you need to survive. Spear of the Magus and Void Stone are both good items for a support mage, especially if you have another mage with enormous burst, a la Release The Kraken!. Book of the Dead is a perfect item on Aphrodite if you want more protections, since you will be guaranteed to be focused in engagements. Magi's Cloack is an amazing item all around. Spectral Armor and Pestile are niche but valuable items, depending the situation. Winged Blade is amazing to counter teams which heavily relies on slows.

You can always buy Heavenly Wings and Teleport Glyph. Both items will help you a lot, depending on the matchup. Also, Purification Beads may also be needed, so check the Threats section to know which relics to get!

~Early Game~

The first two or three levels are hard for Aphrodite; most meta solo gods can outclear and outpush Aphrodite. Still, you'll have sustain with Love Birds, and, after these levels, the real fun begins.

The last part of what I refer to as the early game is level 5. If the enemy solo laner has kill potential at level 5 (the two most important being Bakasura and Bellona), take Undying Love. If not, put a third point in Love Birds for increased clear and healing.

~Mid Game~

The laning phase constitutes the mid game. By level 9, you'll have full clear with Love Birds apart from the brute minions. With given clear, Aphrodite becomes a poke monster, especially after near-max CDR is reached with (possibly) Breastplate of Valor, Shoes of Focus and Blue Buff. You can clear the wave, Kiss the enemy solo laner, Back Off! them, and lead them with Love Birds again for enormous levels of poke. Blue buff allows an infinite number of these pokes. Unless you die once or twice during this phase, you are guaranteed to win lane and get the tower first. In addition, when other solo laners rotate, it is not as safe for you to do so. Instead, push the tier 2 tower, take jungle buffs, et cetera. Take advantage of farming the lane alone. Also, don't forget about the Totem that stands in the jungle space that separates solo from Fire Giant. It grants your team as gives them an early movement speed buff and also 25 MP5!

Ganks will most likely happen during the mid game. During an allied gank on the enemy solo laner, you will want to Kiss your jungler immediately and use Back Off! to slow the enemy. Love Birds will serve as poke and extra damage, but mostly, you'll be playing assist. Kissing the solo laner will increase your jungler's damage, so land those Kisses!

~Late Game~

As soon as Aphrodite enters teamfights, the game changes. You'll (possibly) have close to max CDR, so heal your allies whenever possible. You can even spam Love Birds into walls or camps instead of hitting enemies, since the heal is extremely valuable. Don't waste Undying Love - use it only if your soul mate is about to die or if a burst/cc-heavy ultimate ( Release The Kraken!, Pillar of Agony, Searing Pain, Waxing Moon, etc ) is used on you and/or your soul mate. Kiss targets that your soul mate is focusing for the increased damage. Use Back Off! to stop enemy aggression. Aphrodite is the mistress of sustain, so use her healing and CC to your advantage. Always stay linked to your jungler or ADC, linking to others only for temporary amounts of time and only if they are low health.

In S6, you're able to get an item called Elixir of Speed. This is a consumable that gives you 18% Movement Speed, the same amount as boots, for an unlimited amount of time, for the price of 2000 gold. In long games (45+ minutes), Selling boots, grabbing this Elixir, and getting another damage item (maybe Rod of Tahuti or Spear of the Magus) is arguably a solid decision, but getting a defensive item (specifically Winged Blade) also seams wise.

Hi Kriega, only saw this now.

If you check the notes, I do mention that you can grab whichever shoe you prefer, and that I have a personal preference for Shoes of Focus on Aphrodite. I truly forgot about Witchblade and do agree that it deserves a mention on the guide, however, I don't see the other items being as worth to Aphrodite as the main build and situationals themselves. Sure, late game you could change Void Stone for Bulwark of Hope or Genji's Guard, but you'd have to sacrifice Book of the Dead for any of the other mentions.

I don't think Aphrodite gets much from Magic Shell or Phantom Veil, and Heavenly Wings's surviveability outweights them.

Also, Aphrodite solo cannot survive without the mana from Multi Potions or Mana Potions themselves. There are moments your Jungler won't be able to do your blue buff, and you need them. Also, Health Potions and Multi Potions allow you to double heal, or even triple heal with Love Birds, allowing you to be a bit more aggressive, and that's why I think Aphrodite doesn't need Chalice of Healing.

I tried out the recommended build. Did pretty well. Thoughts on spear of magus and Bakasura?

I found that spear of magus seems to work nicely for extra damage.

Recently I faced a Bakasura that was chasing me and managed to send him running through well, my whole kit. Was it luck or is she naturally good against him?

Spear is an item I do quite enjoy on her, and it's specially good againts tanky teams.

People think that Bakasura owns Aphrodite in lane, but that's because some people don't even try to learn her and build her differently then other mages! I assume you followed my reccomendation and got Heavenly Wings? It really covers up the thing aphro lacks most, which is mobility (also it helps with Baka's ult slow which in turn makes you counter him better so there's that)

YES!!!

It got me out of a LOT of sticky situations. Also, very very agreed.

Would be nice you add a match up with Ratatoskr solo. He has started to being picked in this role recently and I would love see your thoughts about this match up with my little cute assassin!!

Yo.
  • Early clear sucks. Guardian's Blessing it is. *sigh* I honestly hate the use of that in Solo, but whatever.

  • I'm not sure you need to clarify "core" items. Specifically, if facing a physical lane enemy, you're likely to get Breastplate of Valor after Shoes...in which case, I'd argue a bit of early pen from Shoes of the Magi might be nice, because your next item is a big boost to CDR.

  • Lotus Crown should be listed in defensive only, not also in offensive items IMO (I know it has some power but that's less of a point about that item).

  • I normally know of Book of the Dead being picked up in builds that also contain Book of Thoth, as the synergy there is super high with the mana. Granted, Focus (if you get it) and BoV both help on the mana pool, but it's not as significant as that of Thoth. And if you're already building her sort of bruiser with some prots (and possibly decent health from Asclep or Ethereal or Gem), then I'm not sure you need that extra boost of health. Typically, that would be for full squishy/glass cannons that want that burst of health in a dangerous situation.

  • Not sure if it'll be viable, but think Rod of Tahuti might deserve a mention. The high power is nice for damage and heal scaling, and the passive will kick in for teammates you heal that are under 50% health.

  • Also think Mantle of Discord should probably be mentioned as an option.

  • Since this IS for S6, when Elixir of Speed is added to the database, don't forget to mention that for late-game purposes. That could really make her kit nice. Shoes of the Magi, Breastplate of Valor, Void Stone, Rod of Asclepius, Gem of Isolation, Mantle of Discord, sell Shoes & get Spear of the Magus. Boom.

Bran, my dad
  • I know, but it's so f*cking good on Aphrodite
  • I do mention that you can get Shoes of the Magi, it's just that Shoes of Focus is my go-to (as you know cuz you play a lot with me)
  • Well true, but then I thought "Ah there is a scenario that which the protections it gives can benefit an engagement so people will say that it should be an offensive item as well" and that's why I put it there, but I will remove cuz I also don't think it should be listed there
  • Book of the Dead is the more interchangeable item in the build, in my opinion. You can change it for Winged Blade (Although I'm not saying to get Winged Blade last, I'm saying that if you're getting Winged Blade, don't get Book of the Dead). But as you'll say in your other point...
  • I have to admit I forgot about Rod of Tahuti's existence (Cuz it REALLY fell out of the mage build) but I will add it and I will mention that it's one of the best replacements (damage-wise) for Book of the Dead
  • I mean, that could be a whole other build, more glass-cannon-y than the go-to build, but fair enough, I will add it
  • I'm pending more on the DMBrandon argument that Elixir of Speed won't be a valuable consumable to get, but in a 50-minute game, it could be considered, I guess. I will mention it.

Thank you for the feedback Bran, you know I love when you provide it <3 <3 <3

Nice, Pris!

One thing that confused me was the core items vs. usual build. I know you state within the body of the guide that you switch over halfway through from Shoes of the Magi to Shoes of Focus, once you don't need the extra power for waveclear (I assume). But others might also be confused by this...I don't have a good idea of how to present that at the top any better, but something to think about.

The abilities section needs some grammatical corrections. I see a lot of "a awesome passive" instead of "AN awesome passive," for example. Suggest getting those cleaned up a bit more, since I don't see the rest of the guide having nearly as much of an issue. Was that a carry-over from Fem's guide?

You absolutely know more than me on both SMITE overall, and Aphrodite in particular, but I sort of wonder if replacing Rod of Asclepius with Spear of the Magus (not mentioned) or Obsidian Shard (mentioned) might be a good idea. Not only will it obviously help with your own damage, but if you're a magical solo, you're likely also looking at a magical mid AND a magical support, and reducing magical protections via Spear can help your teammates output more, right? You've already got extra move speed in Winged Blade, and sure, the health and power is nice, and the extra healing is also great, but that aura is only affecting the one god you're healing. I'd be more apt to get Asclepius on Hel.

That matchups section is awesome. Great detail, and specific to each god and HOW to counter them. It becomes extremely obvious where Winged Blade becomes essential. One thing I wondered about here...with regard to Bellona, you say trade Love Birds for Bludgeon. Do you mean Kiss, since the stun will interrupt the 2nd hit?

With no jump or teleport, do you think there's any room for Phantom in specific situations?

Anyway, +1. Much better base of knowledge for me when I attempt Aphrodite in the solo lane next time.

1- I have no idea how tbh
2- That was from my aphro support guide. I'll fix it in later patches
3- Aphro NEEDS Rod, without it, she does WAY LESS healing. But if you're feeling it, go ahead, I don't reccomend it but I'm not the one who decides what you'll do
4- Love Birds for Bludgeon, meaning if you took dmg from her, use your heal after the dmg. But Kiss is more important to counter Shield Bash

If someone said that such details don't matter I'd disagree- the guide makes a great introduction with its name already. Not only does it look clear and fashinable, but being a solo guide fulfills its purpose by describing many matchups, even some of the rare ones.

I would say the matchups section is the best part of the whole- explaining some strategies, but also item choises makes a great addition. Winged Blade matches suprisingly well with the theme, the movement speed might prove defence optional, but I guess Breastplate of Valor would be a decent pick as well.

My only doubt would be the lack of penetration in the default build version, maybe it could be considered instead of Gem of Isolation? I'd definitely try it out given the opportunity.

In general a definite upvote.

Like I said on Offensive options, Obsidian Shard is one, but Gem of Isolation just gives too much to just ignore. If pen is needed, sell Winged Blade late game for Obsidian Shard.

thx bae <3
