Hi, my name is Kyle and this will be my first build. Please forgive anything I may have overlooked or misspoke about as I am still getting the hang this. Anyways, lets get on with the guide.
So first thing's first, this Kuzenbo build is strictly as a sponge for damage. Your role will be to get in and absorb as much damage as possible to let your team go in for the kill. Your protections, health, and damage mitigation will be through the roof, so don't be afraid to take a few hits.
STARTER ITEMS - For items we will start with Mark Of The Vanguard and Shoes. Mark Of The Vanguard will give you some early health (+150), Physical Protections (+10), and all damage is reduced by 5. Shoes will just let us get around a little quicker with the (+45) movement speed. We will upgrade as soon as possible to Reinforced Shoes for the Magical Power (+20), Health (+75), C.C. Reduction (+20%), Movement Speed (+18%), and for the Passive (Every time you are damaged by a god you gain a stack that provides 3 Physical and Magical Protections. This will set us up and allow us to start taking some damage and give our team some opportunities to squeeze into a fight and kill and enemy god. BE CAREFUL though as you still must be cautious of your health for now. At this stage, we need to pick our fights carefully and not blindly rush in an give the opposing team an easy kill.
CORE ITEMS - Your core items will be Hide Of The Nemean Lion, Mystical Mail, and Mantle Of Discord. These three items together will literally make the enemy gods abilities tickle you.
Hide is an absolute must for Kuzenbo. It gives us more Physical Protections (+80), Mana (+200), and MP5 (+20). The real reason we pick this up though is because of the passive (Reflects 25% of all basic attack damage to the attacker as Physical Damage). This paired with his 2 (Shell Spikes) and Thorns is an insane amount of mitigation.
Mystical Mail will help us with getting in close and pairs with Hide nicely. Mystical Mail gives us some Physical Protections (+40) and some Health (+300). Along with making us more bulky, it's passive helps a ton as well. The passive lets us do 40 magical damage per second as long as an enemy is within 25 units of us. So this along with Sumo Slam, they automatically take damage while being pushed where you want them to go. If the enemy goes are attacking you, you can use Shell Spikes as well. All this together makes you a nightmare to try and take down. Especially in a team fight.
Mantle Of Discord only makes you even more of a hassle to deal with. It gives us +60 protections in both the Physical and Magical Area. The +15% cooldown reduction we get as well helps us keep using our abilities at a rate to further us in our support role. The passive isn't really a big help, but is absolutely welcomed. When we drop below 30% health, a shockwave is sent out and stuns enemies within 20 units for 1 second and also gives us CC immunity for 1 second. Be wary though as this can only occur every 90 seconds.
These thee items together should be online sometime in midgame. Once you have these items built, you should be able to bully around other Gods and be able to help setup kills and hard pushes.
Okay, finishing up our items should go as follows: Spirit Robe, Stone Of Gaia, and Hide Of The Urchin.
Spirit Robe which gives us +40 Physical and Magical Protections, +10% Cooldown Reduction, and +20% CC Reduction. The big positive of this item though is the passive (You gain an additional +15% damage mitigation for 3 seconds when hit with a hard CC. This can only occur every 15 seconds. This adds even more damage being returned to the attacker than before.
Stone Of Gaia gives us a nice +400 HP along with +25 HP5 and +15MP5. This item has 2 passives which help us out in remaining up front. The first is if we are hit by a knockup, knockback, pull, or grab, we become CC immune for 1 second instead. This can only happen every 90 seconds though. The next passive lets us regenerate 2% of our max HP every 5 seconds. This doesn't seem like much, but gives us just a little more to our sustain.
Hide Of The Urchin will be picked up last. This gives us +35 Physical and Magical Protections along with +250 Health and Mana. The passive on this item is nice as well. We get +3 Physical and Magical Protections for every God Kill or Assist we get (with a max of 10 stacks). We wont be getting as many kills as assists, but this is absolutely a good choice for what we get out of it.
NOTE - If you want to be able to tank Towers and Phoenix's a little easier you can pick up Emperor's Armor. It gives +250 HP and +30 Physical Protections. That's nice, but it's the passive we want. Enemy structures within 55 units of you lose 30% attack speed. Your structures gain 30% attack speed. This can help take or hold down important Towers and Phoenix's. I'd only recommend this as a Situational Item depending on how the match is going and what needs to be done. Also, only swap out Hide Of The Urchin or Stone Of Gaia for this item, as Spirit Robe is MUCH to valuable to lose.
Some tips I would recommend are don't be afraid to go behind enemy gods and use Sumo Slam to push them into position for a kill. Your ult, Watery Grave, can also be used this way but instead of 1 god, you could get more depending on what situation you are in.
Your Kappa can also be targeted by Tower and Phoenix. This can allow you and your team a few extra seconds to get in damage to these structures.
Try and combo your Shell Spikes and Thorns when things get rough. You have bulk and mitigation built into your kit and escape with Sumo Slam or Watery Grave if need be. These 2 items and abilities along with Hide of the Nemean Lion and possibly Spirit Robe will make enemies think twice about trying to push you. This can either give you time to make a plan, wait for your team to help or be revived, or stall while you team goes for Fire Giant or Bull Demon.
Use your push as much as possible. Throw a Kappa then go for a Sumo Slam. Your Mystical Mail will add on some damage to Sumo Slam. Use Shell Spikes if needed.

I played Kuzenbo for the first time last night and I'm definitely interest in getting better with him.

You need to clarify on some item choices or else many people will get confused. First off the maximum amount of items you can have in a build is six. You say to get Reinforced Shoes but it does not show up in the build choices at the top. Hide of the Nemean Lion makes sense on a god like Kuzenbo but I would not get it until much later. Unless you are facing off against a basic attack based jungler or plan on ganking the duo lane multiple times in the early game then you will not need it as much until hunter actually get their items online. Mystical Mail is also a good choice but it can be replaced with other items that have more of an effect. Like more CDR from Breastplate of Valor or the aura items like Heartward Amulet to help your team. Still a good choice nontheless but may not be worth it if you are falling behind.
Stone of Gaia I actually quite like on him considering his passive and how displacement affects him. Also considering his reflection ability this does give him a form of self sustain that can help him still take more hits than any other guardian while dealing more back. I think though you are confused on the term mitigation, like on the description on Spirit Robe. When you are under the effects of crowd control you take less damage. It does not equal reflection like your second ability does. Hide of the Urchin should be picked up earlier instead of way later because of its stacking passive. I would replace Mantle of Discord.

So based off of your suggestions (and Brans on the other Kuzenbo Guide) would you say something like this could be effective?
Shoes of Focus
Sovereignty
Heartward Amulet
Breastplate of Valor
Hide of the Nemean Lion
Spirit Robe
You'll have full CDR (40%) and high Physical Protections and decent-ish Magical Protections, but I think that's okay if you're only facing 2 Magical Gods ... a Mage and a Guardian.
What do you think?
