Intro

Hi there.

I don't know about you, but I am a huge fan of the Norse gods. So, as a result, I was of course drawn to the All Father Odin.

Now, I'm no pro or anything, but this build works for me and I've come to love it.

I hope you enjoy.

Gameplay

Starting off, DO NOT GET STUCK ALONE.

You can kind of Solo if you ABSOLUTELY have to and you have a good jungler for ganks, but this works best when you have a partner.

Early on you are of course going to want to farm farm farm and of course farm, but thats hard when enemies are buzzing around you like Ah Muzen Cab on crack. When it comes to them, use Lunge to jump in, Gungnir's might to slow your enemy and then shield with Raven Shout to cover your retreat. Rinse, wash, repeat. Eventually you'll wear your opponent down enough for your partner to finish them, or to Raven Shout+Lunge combo to kill them (This combo is only good early game or for one on one kill shots. Don't waste your shield like this in the late game).

When you hit lv 5 try to use your ULT to block escapes and gain your passive buff early. don't worry too much about using your ULT for fighting. Use it to cover escapes, traps and your passive's buff.

Mid/Late
This is where it get's fun. Hopefully by now you are at a decent level and have at the very least the first three to four items completed as well as Combat Blink paid off.

Fighting with Odin is a very tie up kind of game. Use odin to whittle away at multiple opponents, keep them distracted and let your team make the killing blows.

If all is done right, you can fight one on one, but get out if you're up against multiple gods alone.

Like I said, I'm no pro. This just works for me.

Very brief guide, although you are on the right track on a lot of these points. I agree that Transcendence is a solid item for Odin to solve his mana problems and give him a nice power boost. I'd look to replace the Boots in your starting build though. 6% movement speed just isn't enough to justify the 300 gold. Buying 4 Healing Potion and 2 Mana Potion just gives you so much more sustain in lane, which you need in order to stay there long enough to get your 1400 gold for finishing Transcendence. Alternatively, you could also invest in Blink early on as a way to initiate once you have Ring of Spears. Although I've been of the opinion that Lunge is enough to initiate, others agree that blinking allows you to save your Lunge for more damage or to escape your ring if you need to. With that in mind, you'd want to upgrade into Greater Blink, since it's 45 sec cooldown will allow you to consistently initiate with it and Lunge out. In comparison, initiating with Lunge and using Combat Blink if you need to get out leaves you with 3 minutes of cool down and no escape in future ults.

Another item start I found here was rushing Breastplate of Valor early on, which has gotten better since it was made cheaper. It gives you a chunk of mana for sustain, a large amount of physical protections in the solo lane of warriors, and 25% cdr. Everything you need to abuse Odin's early power spike.

Although I agree with SepticFir8 that Shifter's Shield is a great item for the power boost and then defense when you inevitably get attacked, it costs 2700 gold, which is far too much early game. There's a reason why you normally don't find people building Rod of Tahuti or Deathbringer early on, because for the same price, you could finish an entire item and start on another or finish an active! I'd get your choice of boots second, Reinforced Greaves works amazingly for the CC reduction btw, so don't let others tell you it's bad for someone always getting hit, and then start on Jotunn's Wrath or Ancile. Always build the latter sooner rather than later if you know you'll use it, since you want the health stacks early on to help you engage longer and survive.

Another active i'd consider is Enfeebling Curse for engaging. It will help you stick to enemies, which i've found to be a problem for Odin in the past. It also allows you to single out enemy hunters in a team fight and shut them down, allowing you or other teammates to remove a massive source of damage. I'm personally not a fan of Greater Aegis since it freezes you in place while you're already getting hit. It can dodge bursty ults like Release The Kraken!, but I think Beads of Purification is just better for increasing your survivability. Front line fighters can and will absorb quite a bit of CC, and beads will help you live through that. A lot of enemies also just require you to buy it to survive (Prime examples being Ares, Fenrir, Ymir or the new and shiny Xing Tian).

I do like your item build. It resembles mine to a great deal. Love Transcendence and Jotunn's Wrath, and Shifter's Shield is so badass on someone like Odin.
