Introduction to Anhur.

Anhur is possibly one of the most fun gods you will every play, he hits hard late/middle game and is even adaptable for other roles such as Mid & Jungler. You will have to play him aggressively and sometimes a little more unpredictable. Either way you shouldn't fall too far behind in xp otherwise you will find yourself in an... overwhelming position.

Pros & Cons.

Pros
+Great waveclear
+Unpredictable.
+Good utility.
+Damage heavy.

Cons
-Easy target. (With no support.)
-Mana hungry.
-Usually bad in arena.

Choices explained.

Skills:
Desert Fury > Impale > Shifting Sands > Disperse
The first two at the top of the chain I hope should need no explanation (although you may want to prioritise Impale over Desert Fury occasionally)
As for Shifting Sands over Disperse however is something that is important. Anhur is very reliant on his basic attacks as ADCs usually are, with not only a slow within the huge radius but bonus damage up to 20% can be a huge threat to an enemy god. I see no reason to use disperse over Shifting sands as it provides nothing as threatening to the opposing team. Shifting sands is also great for escaping and slowing the enemy team, on top of being great for manipulating the map.

Items:
I'll be honest, I stole this item build from a professional player, it seems basic and it is for the average ADC. Although, it is heavily reliant on stacks, that is why you should use the alternative items should this build not be applicable to your game situation.
Bluestone Pendant-
Anhur is surprisingly mana hungry, far better pick than wasting coins on potions. The item provides awesome MP5.
Heartseeker-
At maximum stacks, this item can provide you with a total of +80 physical power. Also giving you extra moment speed that can double up with your boots that can give you movement speed of >400 in total.
Ninja Tabi should need no explanation.
Asi-
Asi provides the lifesteal for the build, also granting you with bonus lifesteal when under 35% health. If you wish, you may want to replace Asi with Ichaival provided that you already have some lifesteal to back you up. You will notice your build begging to pick up at this stage in the build.
The Executioner-
You may want to replace this item with Qin's sais if you wish to (ensure you occasionally check your opponents build, it's helpful for deciding.
Rage + Deathbringer-

Tips

The way you need to play Anhur is difficult, you need to adapt to situations all whilst farming your lane early game. If you farm your lane well, without dying too much. You should do fine, just remember that Smite is a very situational game, once you play Anhur as ADC you will understand that paragraph better.
Impale stun-
Impale will stun the enemy for a duration if the enemy is hit into a wall, this can be used in combo with his Shifting Sands that if upgraded well can be even more threatening making it hard for the enemy to escape unless they use an ability to escape.
Impale knock back-
When an enemy is attacked with impale, they are knock-backed a surprising distance, this can sometimes be used to your advantage but ultimately if you are chasing an enemy you must be aware of this.
Desert Fury-
I'll be honest, this is not a hugely threatening ultimate compared to other gods. This should only be used in the same situation that Nu Wa uses hers, when you are chasing the enemy.
Preferable Support characters-
1) Aphrodite is an amazing support for Anhur, when you are her soulmate, she can heal you well aswell as providing you with great MP5. Back Off! can be used whilst you are close to the enemy, providing extra damage in a small range around yourself.
2) Sylvanus can be a great help in the duo lane, he heals with Wisps all whilst from the opposing jungler. His abillity Nature's Grasp can be easy used to pick up quick kills. Although I fear he maybe nerfed due to the mass ban/pick rates in the pro leagues.
3) Ymir Is the friendly and easy guardian we all know and love. Setting up kills for you with his huge influence on the map with abilities such as Ice Wall Frost Breath and Shards of Ice. Unfortunately he won't help you all that much with your sustain, so keep that in mind.
4) Bacchus sets up kills very well and can be valuable later game due to his phenomenal crowd control that makes him suitable for letting you to get the kills you need.
5) Athena is known for being one of the most strongest supports in the game. Her early game maybe weak but she will be important with her abilities such as Confound it works synergistically with every god, even Anhur, if executed correctly. You will find Athena saving your life should she become your support.

I play my conquest matches as if they were ranked, so an Anhur Sylvanus lane will almost always outdo an Anhur Hades lane, same with Aphrodite. As much as I love the characters, support is not their role. Of course, Hades transitions into a tanky frontline while Aphrodite is one of the best late-game "supports", but that only happens if they're farmed in the solo or mid lane. With the loss of Midas Boots, the characters will either fall behind or steal farm from the ADC, neither of which are preferable. I'm just pointing out that the characters can't play the role compared to any other S or A tier support in the game. Not criticizing the guide or a player's particular playstyle, simply noting the statistics and average games played.

This is going 100% off the tracks of the guide, but still :

So you're saying that these SPECIFIC CHARACTERS have a different transition then the other supports ( e.g. need more xp to level up ) ? Why can't they work out like a normal support ? I, for instance, got my Aphrodite to 10 just playing support, started playing with her on solo on April. So, my question is : What are your arguments to say that they have to farm solo or mid, if they are supports and can do the same job of a Athena, Sylvanus, Geb ( Not skill-wise, but role-wise. )

I'm sorry this will go off the discussion of this guide, but...

What's the problem of playing supports that aren't on the meta ?

About the guide : Pretty good for a first guide. However, you forgot to say which item should it be used after Bluestone Pendant is sold. Which one do you recommend ? I would say that's important for the guide !

Keep in mind that the calculation done for the old Rage, as stated by this :

Quoted:
+20 Physical Power, +30% Critical Strike, +15% Attack Speed. Passive - If your basic attack does not crit, your critical strike chance increases by 10% (max. 5 stacks). Resets on successful crit.

Also, that part of the calculation is wrong :

Quoted:
7*0.7*0.6*0.5*0.4*0.3*0.2*0.9+
--Crit cap of 95% reached--
8*0.7*0.6*0.5*0.4*0.3*0.2*0.1*0.95+
9*0.7*0.6*0.5*0.4*0.3*0.2*0.1*0.05*0.95+
10*0.7*0.6*0.5*0.4*0.3*0.2*0.1*0.05*0.05*0.95+
...and so on...

Because Rage's passive stacks at 5, meaning the maximum crit chance would be 80%.

But anyway, even if I can't find the calculation for the new Rage, I am pretty sure it's more a DPS increased than Deathbringer

Short and simple guide! Upvote. However, there are some things that I would like to discuss:

You need lifesteal in your build. I know that both Asi and Devourer's Gauntlet are included in the alternate section, but with Heartseeker, you should probably switch Ichaival with Asi.

It's actually better to get Rage first, not the other way around. While Deathbringer gives your crits a 50% boost, Rage will crit about twice as much as Deathbringer will.

From AlexError:

Deathbringer

Rage

Since Rage is cheaper, you should always get it first.

Also, the second build is always gonna be inferior to the first build, so just remove that. Qin's Sais just doesn't fit in hunter builds as of now. You should probably remove Qin's Sais from the first build, as well.

Thanks so much for taking the time to write that. Along with Showing the truth about Deathbringer and Rage I always knew that that was a long debated topic in Smite yet I must've only knew outdated information.

Ah! Thank you for noticing that. I'm recommending getting Deathbringer before Rage. It's appreciated for the criticism.

This seems like a really good start to a guide! However, there are some issues. Anhur is inherently an aggressive laner, so the safe Devourer's Gauntlet build isn't necessary on him. Instead, try Heartseeker, Asi, Warrior Tabi, The Executioner, then crit. Also, two of the three supports you mentioned aren't currently in the meta; both Hades and Aphrodite excel in the solo lane rather than support. Both Geb and Sylvanus provide setup for your ultimate, and Athena is just amazing. Otherwise, nicely done! Add some more BBcoding and you're on your way.
