Introduction

Hey everyone! I'm NocteDeae (feel free to add me :D) and this is my first Smite guide. I play as Neith a lot, as she is one of my favourite gods/goddesses to play. You can find me playing in Joust with a variety of gods, all of which I have builds for. I'm hoping that this will be the first of many guides and I hope to see you all in game :) And I did this to get mainly my build out so I'm sorry if the guide is lacking in strategies (but I'll try to explain some of mine the best I can) Hope you like the guide! Cheerio!

Lore

As the waters continued to form the world and everything within it, Neith’s natural instinct to protect and nurture the people led her to champion the hunt. With meat she fed them and with hides she clothed them, but as the people she sought to protect grew old, or sick, or died on the battlefield, Neith’s compassion forced her to change her calling.

With nimble fingers, the Goddess wove shrouds to shield the lost spirits of the dead on their journey to the underworld, leaving a loose thread she could trace as the ghosts ventured down the river. As time passed, more and more threads spread across the world, weaving an intricate pattern of fate that only Neith could see.

Now, the war between Gods grows ever more fevered, and Neith can no longer sit idle. The threads of fate are fraying at the edges and she must once again pick up her bow and hunt, or watch the world return to the waters from whence it came.

Pros and Cons

Pros
- Nice mobility
- VERY high damage
- self healing ability
- able to secure kills easily with ultimate

Cons
- ultimate doesn't have high damage early game
- VERY squishy
- gets focused because she's squishy
- gets wrecked by stuns and freezes
- mana hungry
- ultimate can be body blocked

Items

Warrior Tabi

I always add boots to any build I use, for the speed. But for Neith, I like going for Warrior Tabi because of that little bit of penetration it gives. Penetration is very important on physical damage Gods/Goddesses. The penetration alongside the crit hits can bring down a lot of tanks.

Asi

I love this item for most of the hunters. It gives a good boost to attack speed, life steal and some more penetration. Although Neith has a good self healing ability, I like to have that but of life steal on her just to make her that much more annoying to kill. With the attack speed, you can shoot down your enemies quicker, which helps a lot in sticky situations.

Jotunn's Wrath

This item is a very good one for most types of Gods/Goddesses, it helps a lot. It gives penetration, power and mana. But one of the bigger reasons to get it: the cooldown reduction. This is VERY important on Neith. The long cooldowns of 15 seconds don't hold well in team fights. It's better to have that bit of cooldown reduction than to die while the ability is cooling down for 15 seconds.

Rage, Malice and Deathbringer

These are of course the crit and power items. You can either go unicorn build (attack speed, penetration and lifesteal) or go for the crits. I prefer to go with a crit build for hunters, especially ones like Neith. Neith can slow opponents with her Backflip, stop them from going anywhere with Spirit Arrow and stun with her ultimate, World Weaver If you manage to slow, stop or stun your enemies, you can shower them with crits, cutting down their health faster than they can count to ten :D (this is for if you are using her as an AA goddess)

Devourer's Gauntlet

I don't usually build this on Neith, but sometimes I do just for the big boost in lifesteal and physical power. It really does help if you're against a tough team, or even for bursting down easy opponents.

Heartseeker

This item gives you a little touch of movement speed and a large boost in physical power.

Transcendence

This is a great item for Neith. She is a mana hungry goddess and therefore needs the mana buff or pot to help. But what if there was an item for mana hungry gods? That's what transcendence is! It gives you a huge boost in mana at fully stacks and mp5 +6. Plus more physical power.

Winged Blade

This is a handy item if you're going against a team with slows and it gives a small amount of CDR. Not to mention the little boost in attack speed and movement. However, if you're not going against a team with slows, I would go for a little penetration to give "Ability Killer" that extra OOMPH! :D

Brawler's Beat Stick

This item is very handy for all of the penetration it gives. Plus the boost in physical power. The passive also helps a LOT.
Actives

Sprint

Neith doesn't really have much movement speed. With this it helps to chase enemies through the jungle if your abilities are on cooldown. It also helps with escaping in dire situations.

Greater Purification

Of course these are situational. Neith is squishy and if she gets hit with something like a stun or a bleed without her heal, she dies very quickly. Beads help

Greater Meditation

Neith is one of those Gods/Goddesses who uses a LOT of mana. This active helps immensely with this problem, however only buy this if you don't need the other actives I suggested. ONLY get this if the opposite team is aggressive if they aren't, just get the mana buff. Greater Medetaion allows you to be aggressive during team fights, allowing you to get more kills.

Greater Aegis

This is an active that is very handy against burst teams. If you are ganked while playing as Neith and you don't see it, you are dead. If you are ganged, you're usually dead. If there's a god like Nu Wa or even another Neith (global ultimates)on the other team, it's better to have an Aegis allowing you to stay safe while at low health.

Situational Items

Bloodforge

I don't normally get this on Neith as it is more for assassins like Nemesis. This is ONLY for those times when you're very afraid of dying if your team isn't helping you.

Odysseus' Bow

This item is good for attack speed, plus the passive is nice for hitting enemies that are close to the wave.

Qin's Sais

This is a common item for any hunter. It gives attack speed and physical power, this gives you the ability to trap enemies with Spirit Arrow and blast them with arrows at a fast pace.

Titan's Bane

The passive gives you a great deal of penetration, perfect for bringing down those tanks to your level :D

Skills

Passive - Broken Weave

A Broken Weave appears at the last location that each enemy god dies. The Broken Weaves give her abilities secondary effects when used on the Broken Weaves. These weaves last for 1 minute.

1st Ability - Spirit Arrow

Neith fires a shot that passes through everything. The first enemy hit takes damage and is rooted. Successive enemies take 75% of the damage and root duration. If the Spirit Arrow hits a Broken Weave, the Weave detonates, dealing an additional 100% of the damage and applying the root to all enemies in the area.
Damage: 80/140/200/260/320 (+80% of your physical power)
Root: 1.2/1.4/1.6/1.8/2s
Cooldown: 15 seconds
Cost: 60/65/70/75/80 mana

2nd Ability - Unravel

Neith neatly unravels the world weaves, damaging all enemies in the target area, reducing their attack speed, and healing Neith for each enemy hit, up to 3. Any Broken Weaves in the area are removed, healing Neith an additional amount.
Damage: 70/100/130/160/190 (+80% of your physical power)
Attack Speed Debuff: 30%
Debuff Lifetime: 2/3/4/5/6s
Heal: 20/35/50/65/80 (+15% of your physical power)
Weave Heal: 40/70/100/130/160 (+30% of your physical power) (place ability upon a broken weave to heal if need be to do this)
Cooldown: 15 seconds
Cost: 70 mana

3rd Ability - Backflip

Neith back flips through the air, creating a Broken Weave as she leaps while damaging and slowing enemies in the area in front of her.
Damage: 60/100/140/180/220 (+80% of your physical power)
Slow: 25%
Slow Duration: 2.5/3/3.5/4/4.5s
Cooldown: 15 seconds
Cost: 70/80/90/100/110 mana

Ultimate - World Weaver

Neith charges up and fires an arrow across the world, seeking its target through obstacles. Enemy gods take damage and are stunned. The arrow can be fired quicker for diminished results.
Damage: 230/295/360/425/490 (+120% of your physical power)
Stun: 1.1/1.2/1.3/1.4/1.5s
Cooldown: 90 seconds
Cost: 80/90/100/110/120 mana

Helping your Teammates and Yourself/Clearing the Lane and Counters

It's not always easy to help teammates with a few Gods/Goddesses, but with Neith it's pretty easy. She has abilities that really help in crippling the enemies to allow your teammates and yourself to get away. If there's an enemy chasing one of your teammates, use Spirit Arrow or Back Flip. To stop them from the chase, or to slow them a bit to give your teammate a chance. And if you really want to help and neither of those abilities are up, use your ult, especially in early game. Your ult won't do much for you early on, so why not help your teammate live longer? This goes for yourself too, use Spirit Arrow to stop them and use Back Flip to get away. If they're really close however, use Back Flip first to slow them. If they continue their pursuit, then use Spirit Arrow.
Now, as for clearing the lane, some people like to use Back Flip to place a Broken Weave then hit it with Spirit Arrow. I don't like doing this because then you lose your one true escape. If the enemies see you do this, they might target you quickly, seeing as you don't have the ability up right away. Just use Spirit Arrow, then use your basic attacks. Not only is Spirit Arrow good for clearing the lane, it's good for stopping abilities. If Thor is spinning towards you or a teammate, use Spirit Arrow to stop him. I also use this strategy for a few other Gods/Goddesses. I also use it to counter Loki. I know if you are stunned from Loki, you of course can't use this. But if a teammate is being attacked by him, use your Spirit Arrow and help! I use this tactic while playing as Athena too. If there's a Loki (or any enemy) attacking a teammate, stop him, don't just stand there.

I sometimes build Neith with a unicorn type build if there are tanky or bruiser gods on the other team, so I might add that in if I have time.

No problem! Just trying to share my knowledge (and help you prevent the grumpy perfectionists from griping too much haha). Neith as a physical caster is fun because your abilities hit for so much and full CDR for a 54 second ult is amazing. I would not build Neith physical caster in conquest as the ADC's job is to AA enemies into the ground, so this build would be excellent for that.

Pretty nice build, I think that's too many crit items personally... Especially since I play Neith as a physical caster rather than AA god.
You did a good job of explaining your items and a decent layout of the guide. I would like to see some more BBCoding personally as I think it will take this guide to the next level.
Quick Tips

All of these codes will need the . removed to work.
[.rule] to make a line like the one above.
[.center] Text [/.center] to center text.
Text blah blah blah
This is done like so
[.columns]
[.nextcol size=60][.icon=hovering death size=50 float=left]

These are the majority of my basic ones that I use. Play around with combinations to make it look better. Also [.[Heartseeker].] put the double brackets around items to give the picture and mouse over ability like so Heartseeker.
