Rama switches to a more powerful arrow that pierces and slows enemies. This ability consumes 1 of Rama's Astral Arrows and deals bonus damage with every shot. Damage from this ability is reduced to 80% for each enemy hit after the first. Rama cannot toggle this ability if he has no Astral Arrows. The slow can be stacked up to 3 times.

Rama launches into the air and shoots 3 powerful arrows at the ground, each successive shot increasing in damage: 70%, 85%, 100% and decreasing in AOE size: 30, 20, 15. Every time Rama generates or picks up an Astral Arrow, the cooldown of this ability is reduced by 0.2s (includes passive regen + picked up deployables + generated arrows during stim).

Rama will fall down as soon as the 3 arrows have been used, or after 5s have passed. He is untargetable for the duration.

How to Not Suck with Rama (VERY IMPORTANT)

Rama in lane is only good when he has the advantage (good support/gank).
example: Enemy has a level lead + first item before you, then you shouldn't fight.


BUY 2 WARDS ON EVERY BACK! You want to always be in lane farming, wards help you to stay in lane without dying. They also let you know when u can play greedy and invade.

Mid-Late game Rama should always be conserving arrows for enemy gods (not farm).

Maintaining your farm - Always try to push the wave first, then take neutral camps, repeat. If the enemy adc tries taking your neutral camps without clearing the wave, you can push their wave into the tower and play the aggressor.

Communication - You need to let your team know where the enemy ADC is, or if there is a jungler/support/mid in your lane.

Positioning - Try not to be the frontline, Rama is the best at playing back because he can hit enemies through wall. You want to use ult to purify big cc's (like ares ult).

Please Build Crit

Force the enemy to buy spectral.. there's so many better items that they will want build (Antiheal, Witchblade, ect).

I think you did a really good job on this guide! I like the straightforward way you explain how to play Rama and I think all of the builds look good.

The one thing that caught my eye though, have you been bullied by a Jing Wei in the past? LOL Because you say she has an aggressive ult but most of the time Jing is using her ultimate to get out of a tight spot + even if she does use it aggressively you can easily avoid it with Rama's Rolling Assault. Also her clear is pretty terrible early so I feel like this would be a matchup in Rama's favor? Or at least even! The other matchups I do agree with though :)

Hi Panda,

Some quick feedback:
  • In your favorite build, personally feel it doesn't have enough % pen. You only have 10% from Ata (and 15 flat from Asi). I would strongly suggest switching Ata to The Executioner. I do like and have always liked the combo of Rage and Deathbringer, and think this is fine.

  • In your "frontline shredder" build, don't know if you know that Qin's and crits aren't really synergistic (crits don't enhance Qin's passive damage). Yes, Qin's is great against high-health targets, but I think your build order should be improved. When you're getting Wind Demon earlier, you should probably just prioritize getting your 2nd crit item ( Deathbringer) before considering a late-game Qin's Sais.

  • In your "big damage" build, I know I've seen people build crits and O-Bow, but I strongly suggest against it. Crits scale off of power and O-Bow provides 0 power. Instead, I'd probably look to replace it with a 3rd crit item, since your earlier combo of WD and DB don't quite get you to 50% crit chance.

Hey Bran,

I took your feedback a lot into consideration when working on tweaking the build.

I switched out atalantas because I also felt it didn't give enough pen (the passive is understandable on a silverbranch build, however I dislike silverbranch even on rama, its probably better on artemis).

The frontliner shredder build got tweaked to do more damage early on and I only liked the deathbringer 2nd on the Hunter Cowl Build (which I dislike but is still viable).

Qins on Crit is mainly giving more power and damage, while Obow's damage gets buffed by Gilded Arrow's Basic Attack Power.

Adc builds this season has felt all over the place alongside people watching with what the pros are building.

I appreciate the time you took explaining your decisions. I can give you some additional feedback based on your current setup, which I still feel isn't quite optimal. I'll provide explanations.
  • Your frontline shredder build is going to struggle to get much out of Qin's Sais that early. Qin's is best built after you've gotten decent AS from other items, because you only get the most out of it when your AS is high to take advantage of the bonus damage. It's also expensive and will hurt your power spike timing compared to enemies building more efficiently. Situational AS from Gilded plus Devo's isn't doing much to help Qin's. Also, enemies won't have much health early, so you also get less from Qin's passive at that point.

    If you do mix Qin's and crits, it's probably best to build up your AS first and get Qin's late. In that build, I would get Gilded (Ornate) -> Devo's -> WD -> Exe -> DB -> Qin's.

  • For your super safe build, I think your safer bet would be to get Cowl for the MS when you're alone, even if it's not that much. I do get Gilded (Ornate) when you're only picking up 2 crit items though, to get your chance above 50%.

    Thing is, O-Bow can help with wave clear, and I DO personally like to get it partially for that function. BUT...I only get it for Cernunnos, since his 2 is his only poke and he doesn't have a good wave-clear ability otherwise. So I save his 2 for poke and use O-Bow procs to help clear wave more quickly.

    In your case, you're playing Rama. He's got super easy wave clear help in his Astral Strike, and you can do that safely under/near your tower against an aggressive enemy. He doesn't need O-Bow for wave clear, and you'd otherwise use O-Bow for teamfight poke. But if your concept here is playing safe, then I don't get this pick.

    If you're getting O-Bow on Rama, it should be for one purpose, which is to boost your AS in a Silverbranch build. You're not doing that here, AND you're hurting your crit damage by picking up a 0 power item, which makes this a very poor choice...also delaying you building into crits to begin by picking it up early.

  • Your lifestealer build doesn't have any significant pen, which is a major oversight IMO. You need at least The Executioner in there. In a crit build like that, you'd probably replace Ich w/ Exe, or with further adjustment, you'd go a more traditional Devo's build...Cowl -> Devo's -> Exe / Rage -> Rage / Exe -> DB -> WD / PS / SS.

  • Your skill leveling doesn't need point-skipping. Get a 2nd point into Infinite Arrows at 8, ult at 9, and finish Astral Strike at 10.
I agree in some respects that item builds have been all over the place. At the same time, right now by far the most popular build is the bow build, especially for gods with strong activated steroids like Rama and Artemis. That would consist of Cowl, 3 or 4 bows that include Ichaival first and Silverbranch always (Atalanta usually second, O-bow optional and can be subbed with Asi), and Qin's Sais.

If you're going to deviate from that, you still need to make sure you're hitting all the core components of a build, and you still want to make sure you've got good flow in the build.
