ABILITY GUIDE - THE DOs & DON'Ts

JUNGLE GUIDE - EARLY, MID, LATE GAME

EARLY GAME

Levels 1-7

Ravana's early-mid game is almost on par with other early game oriented assassins, but unlike the others, if Ravana gets a lead, you'll become unstoppable. You will have this pace in the game where no matter where you go, the jungle is in your favor. Keep up with this pace to really make an impact to hypercarry towards the mid game.

MID GAME

Levels 8-15
From now on in the mid game, this is when Ravana is at his power peak level, you'll head over to a lane to get your next kill. Be sure to grab Blink as your first relic, you wont need beads considering you have CC immunity in your kit. When ganking, blink onto the enemy, use your root to stop them in place then finish them off with the rest of your kit. If the enemy has movement in their kit, use your 1 first to slow them down, once they finish their dash/leap, then use your root since they have nothing left to peel themselves off of.

If the enemy is the Mid, let your mid know to CC to bait off their leap/dash closer to your mid tower, then use your root and finish the enemy off together

If the enemy is the ADC, ping the ADC to let your Duo know who to pick off, let your support CC them to make them waste their movement ability or beads, then blink onto them, root and slow them then finish them off

If the enemy is the Solo, be sure that the solo laner is out of position and at least at half health since theyre gonna be the more tankier target. Ult on him to debuff them so they take more damage and finish them off.

LATE GAME

Levels 16-20
The game is at the 20min mark, this is where youre gonna be very careful when taking picks. The enemy comp is gonna be more grouped together and you'll have to be strategic whether to take objectives or push phoenixes with your team. Keep in mind, youre not gonna easily solo objectives besides Pyromancer. Be sure to ping your teammates to get some help when taking Fire Giant or Gold Fury.

When choosing who to gank, always use your ult to start the fight, this is where it shows Ravana being one the best at being a diving backlines. Upon landing, you'll have your 30% Mitigations that let you live and tank alot more damage from the ADC, Jungler, and Mid. You have enough burst in your kit to really finish off the backlines.

When you and your team have killed at least two on the enemy team, its time to siege towers and finish the game. Ravana's late game isnt as good as other junglers so its always good to end the game as soon as possible, use that mid game power spike before it falls off entering very late game (30min mark)

SOLO GUIDE - EARLY, MID, LATE GAME

EARLY GAME

  • Remember that the goal of Solo lane is to counter build the enemy solo to make fights on par. Balance things out. So this could mean that matchups and certain builds may vary and things will not always be meta against any enemy. But luckily Ravana has the most versatile build paths considering how simple your kit is.
  • Head over to lane, be very careful who you go against to know if you can outclear the enemy solo. For Ravana, you never have any terrible matchups considering how much safety there is in your kit but your wave clear will decide how much you can pressure the enemy solo. Its really just a game of Bruteforcing your way to victory. There no cheesy strats to pull of with Ravana. Your base stats aren't as much as the average warrior since the change to your role to an Assassin so you will lose if you try to pick an early brawl so chose your fights wisely and know when to use your abilities to either clear lane or box the enemy solo.

MID GAME

  • When you have destroyed your enemy's tower or have at least have it below half health, its time to start rotating to the mid lane for ganks and assistance. Be sure to clear the incoming wave in solo lane or proxy lane it so you wont have to worry about minions pushing your tower. Rotate over to the mid lane, make sure to take the enemy's jungle route, dont go thru your side of the jungle. They most likely warded your side than their. Be sure to ping the enemy mid to setup a gank for your mid, always initiate with your root to keep them in place first, if they have used a movement ability to try to escape, ult on them to finish them off. Repeat this process until your enemy's solo lane tower and mid lane tower has been destroyed

ENTERING THE LATE GAME

  • Mid to late game, you'll be the initiator in fights since you can dive backlines or ult the frontliner to weaken them and push towers in teamfights. Play aggressively like you would in the jungle but stay cautious since you arent as tanky as their solo laner. A good comp to have when going solo is any pick that helps diving. Below is a list of Gods that can help Ravana in teamfights.

JUNGLERS

Fenrir
Helps pick off a single target in either the backline or frontline

Hun Batz
Good at diving in with you and ulting the whole team

Ratatoskr
Very telegraphed and safe at ulting the backline with a big knockup AOE

Set
Very meta pick that can ult in with you and burst down squishies

Tsukuyomi
Great for poking and going all in when diving

Erlang Shen
Help balance out stats in terms of having a warrior jungle, great at shredding tanks and squishies

GUARDIANS

Khepri
Helps forgive any mistakes made when diving backlines with his revive ult

Geb
Can cleanse and peel for you when going in or escaping

Sobek
Pluck can help pick off a single target whether its the frontliners or backliners

MAGES

Hel
Great healer and cleanser in team fights, late game menace

Scylla
Very big burst damage to finish off the enemy team

Tiamat
Nice in-lane pusher and split pusher when team fighting

IF RAVANA WAS STILL A WARRIOR - SCRAPPED REWORK

https://www.smitefire.com/smite/concept/ravana-warrior-rework-531

Passive - Chain of Blows

Each successive hit against an enemy grants Ravana knowledge in the battlefield allowing him to gain additional damage and benefits to his kit.
- Stacks up to 10 times max; Stacks are gained per target hit
- Bonus Ability Damage: 2% per stack (20% total)
- Stack will reset after Ravana has used an ability with the Passive bonus
- When fully stacked, Ravana is also granted a shield equal to 10% of his max Health

Originally this was made to reward you for staying in a 1v1 fight so you could do extra damage every few seconds with your main damage ability and also stay sustained thanks to the shield. But was ultimately left off to having only the shield instead and removed the bonuses to all abilities like how the OG passive worked with Prana Onslaught.

1st Ability - Chakra Strike

Ravana projects his Chakra in front of him, damaging and slowing all enemies.

Passive Bonus: Applies a 20% attack speed slow for 2.5s

- Damage: 90/155/220/285/350 + 80% scaling
- Movement Slow: 25%
- Slow Duration: 2.5s
- Passive Bonus: 20% attack speed slow

This was your only good ability that was in the original kit but did needs some improvement in terms of cooldown and range, also when you had max stacks of your passive, it would do 360 damage compared to the 310 damage it does now with a 2s longer cooldown so upping the damage to be consistent with the previous amount since the passive was reworked seemed only fair.

The passive bonus was to not only slow movement but also attack speed to keep up against your lane opponent.

2nd Ability - Flash Kick

Ravana performs a high kick, sending a strong shockwave damaging all enemies in a line, increasing his movement speed and rendering himself CC and Damage Immune for the duration.

Passive Bonus: If damaged or hit by a Hard CC while immune, the next use of this ability gets charged and will knock up.

- Damage: 70/115/160/205/250 + 70% scaling
- Movement Speed: 50%
- Immune Duration: 1s
- Passive Bonus: Knocks up enemies

Upon receiving the CC immunity when first adjusted, this ability wasn't only to reward you for avoiding heavy damage or CC but also punish the attacker on the next use of this ability to match their pressure, hence why in the datamining it had mentioned being able to knock up enemies.

3rd Ability - Shadow Fists

Ravana's fists fly foward, damaging and passing thru minions and rooting the first god hit. Ravana also heals for each enemy hit.

Passive Bonus: Silences enemies for the duration of the root.

- Damage: 120/165/210/255/300 + 70% scaling
- Healing: 15/30/45/60/75
- Root Duration: 1.25s
- Passive Bonus: Silences enemies
- Range: 55

In PTS, this ability had also silenced enemies when rooted, that may have been a bit too bloated but considering your worst matchups were mostly gods with sustained damage, it was very helpful. As for the healing, it was good to have changed to a flat amount but would've been better if they kept it where the healing sources weren't limited to 3 minions and 1 enemy god. Upping the damage also to be consistent with effective wave clearing.

Ultimate - Dark Pact

Ravana gains maximum stacks of his passive and then leaps to a target location, the center-most target becomes linked dealing extra damage to them and reducing damage from all other enemy gods for a time period.

- Damage: 150/225/300/375/450 + 100% scaling
- Extra damage: 20/25/30/35/40%
- Damage Reduction: 100%
- Duration: 3.5/4/4.5/5/5.5s
- Radius: 20

The concept of the original ult was to dive a tank/support to short the distance between you and the backliners so you can tank damage from the damagers like the mage or ADC and be able to finish them off with the rest of your kit since that is the role of a solo laner but this concept was too hard for newbies to understand. So upon first reworking this ultimate to "Dark Pact", you were to become linked to either a frontliner or backliner and deal extra damage to whomever you targeted similar to a Nemesis ult but as a leap to dive onto them and ignore damage coming from all other enemies but again seemed too much to comprehend and was instead turned into what we have now where it's the % damage mitigation and whoever you land on takes 10% extra damage, only problem it has right now is the fact that its on a base 110s cooldown and only reduces 30% of damage which isnt alot for a role thats meant to build full damage.

These are all similar to what he has now, only difference being the passive being a mixture of the old and new one and ultimate being the one that was scrapped. These were supposed to be in his kit when in the datamining and when he was first released but we all saw how weak that release really was....If they only stuck with these original ideas, he would've still been a viable solo laner and jungler. But nope, Smite devs decide to take from the smallest class, Warriors, and put one of them on the Assassins class INSTEAD of just increasing the value of his warrior aspects and make him more of a warrior in lane...they just take the lazy route and change him to what he was only played in because he lacked the tools needed for solo and then tell all the solo mains to go **** themselves. You can easily compare Ravana's kit to any other warrior's or assassin's kit and see Ravana is needs changes that can go either way. I'll explain below how present day Ravana cant keep up with the damage of an assassin or how old warrior Ravana couldn't stay sustained against the aggression of a warrior in similar fields and roles in teamfights.

Ravana VS Pele - After Patch 5.13

Both have the Pros of High Single Target and High Sustain

Ravana's ability stats:
1 = 310+80%, 2 = 210+70%, 3 = 260+70%, Ult = 500+100%
Total Damage: 1280 +320% scaling

Pele's ability stats:
1 = 440+240% due to the 2 charges, 2 = 250+80%, 3 = 600+100% if kept inside the aura, Ult = 780+120% when all cone attacks hit
Total Damage: 1950 plus 25 from passive +540% scaling

Winner? Pele. Due to the sustain from passive and DPS reward for sticking onto an enemy compared to Ravana being renowned as this backline diver doing way less.

Ravana VS Hercules - Before Patch 5.13

Both have the Pros of High Single Target and High Sustain

Ravana's kit stats:
1 = 300+80%, 2 = 210+70%, 3 = 260+55% plus 280 total heal, Ult = 500+100%
Total Kit Damage: 1270 +305% scaling

Hercules' kit stats:
1 = 365 +90%, 2 = 290 +60%, 3 = 220 heal plus 60 prots, Ult = 800 +100%
Total Kit Damage: 1455 plus 66 from passive +250% scaling

Winner? You guessed it, Hercules due to the better sustain and higher base damage despite having lower scaling but can still burst down a squishy target faster due to the ult compared to Ravana having to waste his whole kit to do a fraction of what Hercules' ult can do.

The solution is very simple, revert Ravana back to a warrior and improve upon what the scrapped abilities could've been or keep as an Assassin and buff his numbers and cooldowns as an assassin would need for more DPS and burst. Its unclear whether Ravana was meant to be AA based or Ability based due to his low base damage and high cooldowns but decent scaling and high sttack speed chain.

The dangerous part of doing these changes is because of how safe Ravana is to play thanks to his immunities and how simple his kit is to use so you dont want make him too easy to stomp on squishies while also not making him sustain alot to overwhelm the average warrior.

Ravana is in a very rough spot right now because of how easy he can be balanced so he can either be very powerful or a niche pick that you can never go wrong with. You decide how you'd wanna see Ravana be shifted, let your voice be heard and contact the developers about this scrapped rework.

I like using the same items for my ravana as I do with SWK. example build - trans, glad shield, genji, crushers, titans.....with these items as situational - soul eater instead of trans, sledge, jotunns, mantle, spirit robe, bulwark, ancile/runic.

Hi Lagmoor,

Not sure if you're talking about Jungle or Solo here, or if you're talking non-Conquest. I would suggest against that mix of items personally, depending on mode. You're a bit split on offense and defense there...bruiser in general is fine, but if you're playing Jungle, you want to try to go as full damage spec as possible, and only counter-build when necessary.

When you commit to Trans, you really don't need the crazy MP5 of Genji. Yes, I know the CDR function there, but I think you might be better served if considering magical prots by looking at Shogun's as an alternative.

That said, I don't know if I would recommend Trans. Takes a while to build up and you could get some good early use out of The Crusher. If you go Trans, I would commit a bit more to your ability use and consider Jotunn's Wrath immediately after.

Another option would be to go Crusher into Trans, but then you continue your build as basically full damage...can consider Arondight, TB, Serrated, HS for example as other items.

And which starter are you typically picking up?

As for Crusher late, I think Heartseeker might be the better option at that spot.

The amount of knowledge on the god is remarkable. I had a diamond ravana prior to reading through this and now have a FAR better understanding of how to play and build him. 10/10 guide, you single handedly made me a better player in both the jungle and solo and that is commendable.

Been running Ravana in Joust with a build similar to your "unkillable build" except i had jotunns instead of bulwark. Could actually 1v3 a Ymir, Loki and Nox without my health bar going under 75%, most of the time not taking any health damage because of the health shields. It is insane.

Pretty solid solo lane build dominated a couple of ranked solo with em. I just missed warrior rav so bad that I had to pick him up again since he was changed lol. The sundering axe - BOV - BOH combo is old school and it still does wonders. ++

DongerErin (2) | June 16, 2021 10:57am
yeah right now, i'd say hes in a very niche spot for solo laners, alot of people dont anticipate Ravana in the solo lane so it does provide a new challenge for the enemy since theyre not used to him in solo.

Go Titan's over Dominance. Dominance only gets value if you already have 30% pen.

I already changed it from Dominance to titans bane. The guide just needs to update

Big Damage (37) | May 10, 2021 11:01pm
I find with Ravana that you don't really need Jotunn's. The Crusher or Brawler's Beat Stick usually do just fine with his cooldowns and then he doesn't have to sell Jotunn's when he gets Bumba's Hammer. Other gods with really spammy cooldowns it can be more worthwhile.

Replace Dominance with Titan's Bane. 0 point getting Dom that late when you can get Titan's and always have 20% pen on autos and abilities, not 20 on autos and 10 on abilities.

I would remove the attack speed options, you don't need them at all on Ravana when there are other burst options. I mean you could maybe consider The Executioner but it's unlikely it would ever be better than your burst items.

Because of Ancile nerf it's still okay but you don't want to go into that as your first item option, you need a real power spike to have gank potential and clear camps like a flat pen item or Arondight. I haven't tried an Eye build on Ravana yet but maybe try this one out, I need to test it myself too though.

Eye Of The Jungle > Warrior Tabi > Arondight > Shifter's Shield > Ancile > Titan's Bane > Protector Of The Jungle > Swap boots for Void Shield

The solo builds are all great, I think clarifying on the Sundering Axe build that you need to skip your starter item and pick it up late is a good idea. A few small tweaks are that I wouldn't recommend Breastplate of Valor, The Sledge or Death's Embrace.

Glad Shield is better than BoV for Ravana as it helps his clear with bruiser stats, going into Void Shield next is the best option too so nice work there.

The Sledge is OK as a fill item but in the current meta you pretty much always need either Spectral Armor or Witchblade later on so skipping it and leaving a space for that would feel better.

If you use Death's Toll for early sustain you're better off selling it so you have a proper solo tank build later on instead of wasting a slot on Death's Embrace which wont get much value in a teamfight.

Jotunns early game is too hard to pass up, I would only really get crushers if I'm ahead or behind. Plus Ravana has way too long cooldowns(18s on your 2 and 16s on your 3) its almost as bad as Susano's cooldowns. Considering you're maxing the 1 first too so those ability's cooldowns are the same for awhile. the early CDR helps keep up and let's you gank more often. It has way too many good stats. Again, only exception I would make is if theres 2 or more healers on the enemy team so I could go Brawlers. Either way, CDR needs to be at least 30% before getting bumbas hammer.

As for Dominance, its interchangeable with Titans Bane, I personally have found more success with Dominance, it's more useful when boxing than just waiting for the titans bane cooldown to get that extra 20% pen. But if you wanna go Titans then by all means

Alot of people also dont know when Ravana was shifted to an assassin, his attack speed has changed to be faster per level so you can afford to get a couple of attack speed items. You have one of the best attack chains in game so going attack speed isnt as bad as you think.

This is where going eye of the jungle helps as well, Ravana's early game isnt the best so going Eye helps alot and rushing ancile or Arondight boosts your early carry potential by alot, this is where you're going to be ganking the mid laner alot. And clearing camps without some flat pen isnt bad since you're getting extra 10 power from eye of the jungle and attack speed. This build is what I saw being built in the SPL so it could work

The solo builds, that section isnt quite finished so I'll explain why I would go those certain builds and when to go for them. Like I said before, cooldowns are a big necessity for Ravana. Breastplate solves that problem, warriors tabi gives enough power to then get void shield after BoV. The Sledge sure isnt a must build item, it's just a nice boxing item with all the stats you would need on a solo laner. So it could be swapped out for one the situational items like you said with Witchblade or Spectral

The Death Toll build is just more of a troll build that you could get away with. Like it says, that is what you would build back in Season 4 but you can get away with it, it works good against AA based warriors.
